When 26-year-old Sabrina McClenithan flipped a chair to mop her dining room floor, she didn't expect to stumble on a secret.
The Florida-based content creator and her boyfriend had scored the dining set for just $25 at a local thrift store. "We knew it was a great deal," McClenithan told Newsweek. "The table had handwriting underneath showing it was handmade, and I liked the light green fabric—it had this soft cottage feel that really fit our space."
The couple had been using the set for a year when McClenithan spotted a tiny thread of yellow fabric poking out from underneath. "I didn't have the tools to take them apart properly, so I procrastinated," she said. "Then months later, lying in bed, it hit me: just take an X-ACTO knife to it."

The next day, she filmed herself cutting into the chair—and captured her stunned reaction when she unveiled the vintage yellow floral fabric hidden beneath the gingham covers. "The look on my face is totally authentic—I was shocked," she said.
The vintage fabric was underneath a gingham fabric that had been upholstered over the top, and the yellow florals were in amazing condition.
Online, McClenithan's followers were just as amazed as she was, and the video quickly gained more than 1.3 million views on TikTok since being shared a week ago.
Some offered restoration tips, while others speculated there could be yet another layer hiding underneath the seat. "I had no idea the controversy it would create," McClenithan said. "People from around the world weighed in on what I should do next. It's wild."
"Incredible find, love this for you" said viewer Ry. While TikToker Kaitlin wrote: "The way my jaw DROPPED."

Another viewer said: "I like to think the old owner was keeping it in good condition for you lol."
McClenithan now plans to properly refurbish the chairs, and possibly investigate further. "I wish I knew where they came from," she said. "But that's the magic of a thrift store: giving new life to something that's already been well loved."
This isn't the first time someone has stumbled on an incredible thrift-store find. In 2024 a man was dubbed a "thrifting legend" when he stumbled on a genuine Louis Vuitton purse worth upwards of $300.
While earlier this year a woman was digging through a tray of costume jewelry when she struck gold. The woman based in Michigan stumbled on a $2.71 pair of earrings that she snapped up after noticing their high-quality details, only to later discover that they were vintage Chanel, worth up to $750.

Owners Try and Film Husky Escaping in Backyard, but She Has Other Plans

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A woman trying to capture a typical moment from her dog got a big—and hilarious—surprise. Her TikTok video of the moment has left the internet in stitches, showcasing her husky, who thwarted her attempt to document the dog's escape habit by stealing the camera mid-act. The footage has resonated with countless husky owners who are all too familiar with the breed's mischievous nature. "POV: You try to record how your dog has been escaping the backyard, but she had ideas of her own," the woman, @kimberlyjaidyn08, captioned the video, which shows the phone set up to film their husky's antics in the backyard. However, before the camera can capture her secret, the dog grabs the phone in her mouth and runs away. Stock photo: A Husky in an outdoor garden. Stock photo: A Husky in an outdoor garden. TRAVELARIUM/Getty Images "Oh," one commenter reacted. "I've never been carried by a dog before." TikTok users were quick to react, many acknowledging the breed's well-known intelligence and Houdini-like tendencies. "You're not supposed to show a husky where the camera is," one person wrote. "They too smart for that (I have three)," one commenter warned. Another user imagined the dog's thought process: "Mom forgot her rectangle, which is so weird, cause she takes it everywhere, I'll take it back to her." The escape artist reputation of huskies was also a recurring theme in the comments. "Once I saw that she's a husky, I knew it was over (I have a husky that also loves to escape, so I had to get a really long lead for her, so she can't miraculously hop the fence)," one user shared. Another TikToker wrote: "She's a husky. They're father-in-law's husky jumps their chicken wire and metal fence all the time, especially when it storms. He just goes to the front door though." "I was warned by my boyfriend (he has a husky and recently have a husky puppy to our little family) that they are Escape Pro," another added. "But this is so funny and cute." The American Kennel Club (AKC) describes the Siberian husky as "a thickly coated, compact sled dog of medium size and great endurance." They are known for their "keen but amiable and even mischievous expression." Beyond their appearance, huskies are renowned for their high energy levels and a strong desire to explore. The AKC noted that Huskies are energetic and love a chase—secure running room is "a must," so, it seems the creator definitely provided the right environment for her sly pup. The breed's sociable nature also plays a role in their behavior. The AKC stated that as pack dogs, they enjoy quality time with their owners and other dogs. This combination of intelligence, energy and a friendly disposition makes for a dog that is both endearing and capable of surprising its owners with its antics. TikTok star Charley Marlowe is set to join BBC Radio 1 as a summer presenter, the station has announced. Charley, who also narrates BBC Three's I Kissed A Girl, will host the Early Breakfast show on Fridays from August. She says she's "absolutely buzzing" and plans to play "as much Jane McDonald and Kylie Minogue as the BBC allow". His afternoon slot will be covered by Sam MacGregor and Danni Diston until September, when Jamie will be rejoined by co-host Katie Thistleton as she returns from maternity leave. It comes just over a month since the last shake-up of the slot, when Radio 1 bosses announced Jamie would temporarily be joined by his wife, Sophie Habboo. At the same time, they also announced another social media star, GK Barry, joining the line-up. The TikToker and I'm a Celeb star's summer-long stint as the weekend afternoon host starts from this Saturday.
