The expressway was inaugurated on July 15 and is going to be a gamechanger. This 66.9 km greenfield road connects Jaipur's Ring Road to the Delhi–Mumbai Expressway. It's a smoother option than NH-48.
A game-changer for travellers
It's a fact that the Delhi–Jaipur highway has always been a congested road mainly because of heavy truck movements and unplanned delays. But thanks to the new expressway, it is no longer going to be the same.
The speed limit here is 120 km/h and smooth, it will allow access-controlled lanes.
The road is also travellers approved. During the first 10-day experiment (a toll-free trial), travellers shared some happy reviews calling it a convenient alternative.
The expressway is constructed at a cost of over INR 1,300 crore. It has five interchanges, which allows easy exits at many prime junctions including Khuri, Bhedoli, and Sundarpura.
It also avoids traffic-prone towns and bypasses the older NH-21 and NH-48 stretch.
It's not just a shortcut but a part of a larger vision. In future, the road will connect Delhi and Mumbai via a grand 1,386 km corridor. It will boost regional connectivity with cities including Jaipur, Udaipur, and Vadodara.
As per the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the stretch will decongest traffic within Rajasthan and allow quicker access to smaller districts around Dausa and Bandikui.
It's designed to be future-ready, with intelligent traffic systems, emergency lay-bys, and FASTag-integrated toll booths.

Keshod airport is set for a significant infrastructure upgrade , with the Airport Authority of India (AAI) undertaking a runway extension and terminal expansion project to enable operations of larger aircraft such as the Airbus A320. The expansion is expected to be completed by Jan minister of state for civil aviation, Murlidhar Mohol, shared the update in the Rajya Sabha on Tuesday, in response to questions raised by MP Parimal Nathwani. According to the minister, the runway will be extended to 2,500 metres at an estimated cost of INR 190.56 crore. The project has a timeline of 18 months from overall development of the airport, including a new terminal building , is pegged at INR 364 crore. The terminal, designed to handle 800 passengers (400 arriving and 400 departing) during peak hours, will span 6,500 sq m. New rly under bridge to ease traffic at Darrah Nullah
Jaipur: Relief is finally in sight for commuters who endured years of traffic congestion at Darrah Nullah on the Kota–Jhalawar National Highway (NH-52). The Central govt granted administrative and financial approval for the construction of a new Railway Under Bridge (RUB) near Arch Bridge No. 148, between Kanwarpura and Darrah railway stations. The project, estimated to cost Rs 9.98 crore, will be executed by the West Central Railway as a deposit work. The RUB will be constructed at KM 297.7 on NH-52 and is expected to significantly ease traffic flow between Kota and Jhalawar. Construction is scheduled to begin shortly, with targeted completion within stipulated timeframe. The eight-km stretch through Darrah Nullah — a narrow, single-lane passage wedged between the broader four-lane highway — long posed a serious threat to commuters, with frequent accidents, prolonged traffic jams, and seasonal waterlogging. Rajesh Soni, a frequent traveller, said, "Traffic on this route increased as it connects Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Heavy vehicle movement is common, and traffic jams lasting up to 12 hours have been reported here." Despite the commencement of toll collection at Mandana and Bheed Mandi (Rs 165 and Rs 85, respectively), no structural improvements were made. Agencies including the NHAI, PWD, and the forest department continued shifting responsibility. Since the stretch falls within the Mukundra Tiger Reserve, the forest department raised objections to any major construction without proper clearance. A four-lane elevated road was earlier proposed but failed to gain approval .
