PM Modi will bring peace in Kashmir: Rajinikanth at WAVES Summit 2025
Actor Rajinikanth took the stage at the World Audio Visual and Entertainment (WAVES) Summit 2025 on Thursday, and spoke about the Pahalgam terrorist attack that claimed 26 lives. The superstar appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts in bringing peace to Jammu & Kashmir, and expressed his faith in his leadership.The 74-year-old called Modi a 'fighter' and shared that he trusts the Prime Minister to handle the current situation with 'grace'. Rajinikanth spoke in English: "Namaskar, honourable Prime Minister, and Chief Minister of Maharashtra. After the barbaric, merciless event that happened at Pahalgam, many people told me that the government would postpone this event because of unnecessary criticism, because the event's subject is entertainment. But, I was confident that this event would definitely happen, because I have confidence in my PM - Narendra Modi ji (sic)."advertisementHe continued, "He is a fighter. He will meet any challenge, and prove what we have been saying for the last decade, that he will face even this situation gracefully and bravely, and bring peace in Kashmir and glory to our country (sic)."
Thailavar went on to express his gratitude for being a part of the Summit. He said, "I am extremely happy to be here, and it's my privilege to be a part of this WAVES moment. My hearty congratulations to the central government, the media, on taking one step ahead with the cooperation of the global entertainment fraternity. I wish you all success. Thank you very much for the opportunity (sic)." WAVES Summit 2025 is a one-of-its-kind four-day event being held at the JIO Convention Centre in Mumbai. The event aims to put India at the global front of the arts, creativity and entertainment scene. It will feature a series of intelligent conversations with prominent names from the Indian film fraternity, and will also highlight the country's folk dance and music as its soft power.

'How To Train Your Dragon' took the box office by storm in its first week in India over the weekend. The film earned Rs 14 crore in India, making it the biggest opening weekend in the franchise to date. Nico Parker plays Astrid, while Gerard Butler reprises the role of Stoick the Vast, Hiccup's father, voicing the character. Massive dragon flights, immersive battle sequences, and breathtaking landscapes set the tone for 'How to Train Your Dragon' and has brought family audiences back to the Dean DeBlois confirmed that the next instalment is scheduled for June 11, 2027 at Universal Pictures's CinemaCon earlier this also recently opened up about the backlash over Parker's casting as Astrid. Fans had expected Astrid to look more like she did in the original. In the original, Astrid was white with blonde hair and blue eyes. Variety reported Dean as saying that it bothered him in the beginning, but hoped people would let it go seeing how Parker nailed the role and that's what happened.
