Perth Now19-05-2025

Steve Burton has got married.
The 'General Hospital' star tied the knot with chef Michelle Lundstrom at an intimate Orthodox church ceremony on Saturday (17.05.25) in front of their family before celebrating with 45 guests at an oceanfront reception at Montage Laguna Beach in California.
Steve gushed to People magazine afterwards: "This day isn't just about a ceremony. It's the beginning of forever with the love of my life."
The 54-year-old actor's children, Makena, 21, Jack, 19, and Brooklyn, 10, were part of the wedding party, as were Michelle's daughters Lilah, 14, and 10-year-old Hannah.
And the 44-year-old bride's kids had helped her search for her perfect wedding dress before she settled on a custom strapless gown by Lee Petra Grebenau.
Michelle said: "When I tried on my dress I knew it was the one. I came out to show my girls and they both said, 'That's the one, Mom!' We all knew.
"It was beyond special...
"The girls were so excited to wear matching dresses."
Steve - who proposed in January after just under a year of dating - noted it "meant the world" to him to have his only son as one of his groomsmen, alongside his best friend Jeremy Ross as best man.
The couple met on social media and " connected" over 80s music and movies, so asked for their pianist to play romantic songs from the decade during cocktail hour, and their DJ do the same during the reception, though they selected 2023's 'I Choose You' by Forest Blakk for their first dance.
Steve gushed that marriage "means everything" to him and Michelle and the couple couldn't be happier.
He said: "I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend, growing together each day in faith and love.
"Honestly, I've never felt so loved and cared for in my entire life. I'm incredibly grateful to have her by my side. She is the most amazing, beautiful, and selfless woman I've ever known. I love her so much."
Michelle added: "Gosh, he's proven that fairy tale love truly exists. He's like pure sunshine — always uplifting, endlessly caring. His love makes me a better person every single day.
"To have the most incredible man I've ever known by my side forever brings me so much peace and happiness. He is the love of my life, and I feel so blessed to call him mine."
Steve split from first wife Sheree Gustin after over 20 years of marriage in June 2022 after she got pregnant by another man.

Hannah Waddingham 'wants people to talk about how exhausting parenthood is'

Hannah Waddingham wants more people to "talk" about "how exhausting" it is to be a parent. The Ted Lasso actress, 50, is mother to a 10-year-old daughter - who was born in 2015 during her previous relationship with Italian businessman Gianluca Cugnetto - but she has been raising her little girl alone since the couple's split and Hannah is adamant being a mother is hard work and that needs to be acknowledged. She told The Sunday Times newspaper: "Thank God she is the utter joy of my life because it is unyielding responsibility. "I feel like more people should talk about how exhausting it is. Not only physically showing up for them but being the best version of yourself, because they respond to actions far more than words." She added of her daughter: "[She's] my greatest champion and my most horrific critic." The youngster has taken an interest in acting and has been starring a school production of 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe', but Hannah wants to make her daughter away of all the hard work that went into building her own career. She said: "She feels such a sense of vitality from that [being on stage], which I love, but I just want her to know that for 22 years I would be on stage thinking: 'Am I going to make the last Tube? "I need her to be aware that I really grafted for 22 years. Life is not being picked up by a black Mercedes." Hannah added that's she proud of her career success, but she doesn't care about being famous. She explained: "I've just become more known. Being afforded the luxury of the kind of roles that I always knew I could play and, as a single mum, the luxury of being able to put my daughter in great schools. "It does give you freedom. I genuinely don't give a s*** about fame. I never have. I never will." Hannah previously admitted she battles feelings of guilt whenever she's away from her little girl for work. She told PEOPLE: "My primary function is being a single mama ... Mommy guilt is real ... But I keep saying to her that we are a team and that I have to do this. "I have to strike while the iron is hot. I'm not so conceited that I would think that I will always have this kind of focus. I've always said to her: 'Mommy must take this time while the light shines on me, because the light shines on you'."

Chris Evans shares details of marriage proposal to Alba Baptista

Chris Evans thinks he "screwed up" his marriage proposal. The 43-year-old actor spent time learning how to ask Alba Baptista for her hand in marriage in her native Portuguese, and though he learned the right phrase, he was so "nervous" when the big moment came, he isn't convinced he said the correct words. Speaking to The Knot, Chris - who has been married for two years - said: 'I proposed to my wife in Portuguese. She's Portuguese, so I learned how to say, 'Will you marry me?' in Portuguese. I had practiced it all week... 'I got really nervous when it came time to do it. I actually think I screwed it up, but I still know it.' The Materialists star feared he would ruin his own proposal in the days leading up to it because he had spent so much time practising what he needed to say. He admitted: 'I had practiced it so much that while I'd be making breakfast and you almost just start saying it out loud. Like, 'Oh God, that's not just a song that's stuck in my head! It's gonna let the cat out of the bag.'' Chris and Alba didn't formally announce their engagement before tying the knot after two years of dating, but the Avengers: Endgame star later revealed they had two "wonderful and beautiful" wedding ceremonies. Speaking at New York Comic Con in 2023, he said: 'It was really, really great. We kinda had two ceremonies. We had one on the East Coast. We did one in Portugal. 'They were wonderful and beautiful. It's a lot of planning a wedding. For those of you who are married, it takes a lot out of you. Now that we're through that, we've just kinda been enjoying life, gearing up for autumn, my favorite season. It's, like, the best time of year right now. Now we're just relaxing and enjoying life and reflecting.' The Hollywood star has previously spoken about his desire to become a dad one day, admitting that "building a family" is one of his long-term ambitions. Speaking to People magazine, Chris shared: "That's absolutely something I want. "Wife, kids, building a family. When you read about most of the best artists, whether it's actors, painters, writers, most of them [admit] it wasn't the work they made [that they are most proud of], it was about the relationships, the families they created, the love they found, the love they shared. "Those things are the most important. I love the idea of tradition and ceremony, I had a lot of that in my life so the idea of creating that, I can't think of anything better."

Tom Daley speaks out about his father's death as he admits he 'didn't know who to turn to'

Tom Daley "didn't know who to turn to" when his dad died. The 31-year-old Olympian lost his father, Robert, to a brain tumour more than a decade ago, but he is sure that his dad is still "supporting" him with everything as he goes on in his life and career. He told People: "When he was gone from my life, I didn't really know who to turn to or who to talk to about lots of things. "There wasn't really anyone that would bring it out of me, because my dad was always someone who kind of knew exactly what I was thinking and how I was feeling and knew how to fix it. "He supports me all the way, and if I didn't have his support system, I wouldn't be here now 'cause I wouldn't want to carry on." Tom has sons Robbie, six, as well as two-year-old Phoenix with his husband Dustin Lance Black, and recently admitted that losing his dad was one of the "most difficult" things he has ever had to go through but still takes inspiration from his dad when it comes to his parenting style. He said: "I model lots of my parenting and lots of the things that I do every day around what I learned from my dad. He my biggest cheerleader. He was there for every training session, every competition, and he was a huge part of my life, day in, day out. "Losing him was one of the most difficult things that I ever had to deal with." Yet I was dealing with that in a very public way in the U.K. Looking back on all of that footage was quite challenging to watch because I felt really sorry for the younger Tom that I kind of was just carrying on and putting on a brave face, and I didn't ever want to bother anyone with how I was feeling because I didn't want to ever make anyone else feel uncomfortable." Tom has discussed his life and career at length in the new documentary, Tom Daley: 1.6 Seconds' but admitted that he initially had reservations about speaking about such personal things on camera. He said: "I wasn't sure about doing it initially. You know what? This is something that I would love to be able to then show my kids in the future and be able to be like, 'Look, this is what Papa did. This is the thing that Papa was doing day in, day out' And the things that I did, and be able to get to know the relationship I had with my dad and all of that stuff."
