Tom Cruise 'has been a mentor for Ana de Armas'

Yahoo19-07-2025
Tom Cruise has been an "incredible mentor" to Ana de Armas.
The 63-year-old actor and Ana, 37, have a "special work relationship" and the actress has "prepped" all summer for their first project together - a supernatural ocean thriller called Deeper.
A source told People: "Tom is crazy hardworking and she's very excited to work with him. She calls it an opportunity of a lifetime."
Tom and Ana have been romantically linked to each other over recent months. However, an insider has insisted that their relationship is "not romantic" and that they are simply friends and work partners.
The source shared: "Tom is an incredible mentor to Ana. She has nothing but amazing things to say about him."
Tom is still one of Hollywood's most bankable stars, and he's never lost his passion for filmmaking.
The actor recently admitted that he's fulfilling a "life-long dream" by working in the movie business.
He told Extra: "It's such a privilege to do what I do.
"It's been a life-long dream of mine to be able to do this and to make movies ... I truly, I love it. That is my, I don't know, it's not what I do, it's who I am.
"It is my honour to entertain."
Tom is willing to put his body on the line in order to make the best movies possible.
The actor - who has suffered various injuries during his career, including a broken ankle while shooting 2018's Mission: Impossible - Fallout - explained: "I fly aerobatic airplanes, I fly jets, I fly helicopters, and this took all of our ability and all of our skill to be able find the camera angles to tell this story."
Tom needed to be in tip-top physical shape to shoot the Mission: Impossible movies, and he felt particularly proud of the action scenes in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.
He said: "Physically, what I had to do to prepare for this thing was quite extreme, and I can tell you this - whatever people see in the trailer or on TV, it is not even a taste of what they have in store for them when they see this film."

‘Focker In-Law' sets Thanksgiving 2026 release date as Ariana Grande joins the cast. Everything we know about the fourth ‘Meet the Parents' installment.

The Ben Stiller- and Robert De Niro-led film has received its official title and release date. Another year, another family affair — and this time, Ariana Grande will be joining the mix. On Monday morning, Universal Pictures confirmed on Instagram that Focker In-Law, the fourth installment of the Meet the Parents film franchise, will hit theaters on Thanksgiving 2026. The family comedy comes 25 years after the release of the first film, which famously starred Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Blythe Danner and Teri Polo. 'The Focker family is expanding. See #FockerInLaw only in theaters Thanksgiving 2026,' reads the post. Capturing that seemingly universal fear of meeting one's future in-laws, 2000's Meet the Parents follows Greg Focker (Stiller), a groom-to-be who becomes embroiled in a disastrous first meeting with his girlfriend Pamela Byrnes' (Teri Polo) skeptical family — including her overprotective ex-CIA father (De Niro). The film went on to earn more than $330 million at the box office, becoming the seventh-highest-grossing film globally of that year, per Deadline. The second and third film installments, Meet the Fockers and Little Fockers, chart the progression of this messy family dynamic — from Greg and Pamela's ill-fated attempt to bring the Fockers and Byrnes together, to their decision to welcome children of their own. With Focker In-Law, audiences will finally get to catch up with the outrageous Focker-Byrnes family several years later. The already star-studded cast got a little glitzier earlier this year, when Grande, fresh off her Oscar-nominated performance in Wicked: Part One, signed onto the project. From casting updates to the film's confirmed name and release date, here's everything we know about Focker In-Law so far. What's 'Focker In-Law' about? While the cast has been tight-lipped about what Focker In-Law is about, Stiller did liken the upcoming film to 'a mirror' to 2000's Meet the Parents. With this in mind, it's possible that the film will revolve around Greg and Pamela's son Henry, as he prepares to bring his fiancée home to meet his parents. Stiller, De Niro and Jay Roach, the director of the first two films, reunited during a 25th anniversary screening of Meet the Parents at this year's Tribeca Film Festival. Stiller revealed that they required an 'organic reason' to make Meet the Parents 4, now officially titled Focker In-Law. 'What spurred the idea is that I'm the age that Bob [De Niro] was when we did the first movie,' Stiller said on a panel after the screening. 'It felt like a mirror to the first film, where one of my kids is thinking about introducing his person to the family.' When is it coming out? Focker In-Law, according to Universal Pictures' Instagram post, will be released on Nov. 26, 2026. Who's joining the cast? Grande has officially joined the Focker family! While Universal Pictures has yet to reveal who Grande will portray in the Focker In-Law, the Hollywood Reporter said that she'll allegedly play the 'ball-busting' fiancée of Greg and Pam's son. The Eternal Sunshine pop star has previously demonstrated her prowess for comedic acting: as Glinda in Wicked: Part One and during her lauded 2024 appearance on Saturday Night Live. Stiller, without giving too much away, praised Grande for her comedic contributions to the upcoming film. 'I can't really talk too much, I guess, at this point about the movie,' he said on the Today show in June. 'But the character she's playing is — she's going to be really, really funny and kind of the whole engine of the new movie. So it's exciting.' 'Half the things — the scenes that I have with her will be singing scenes,' De Niro joked on the same Today show. Grande discussed her desire to continue acting during a 2024 appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. 'I would love to,' she said. 'I'm like — I'm very scared to freak my fans out when I talk about this just because music and being on stage will always be part of my life. So that will — I will always be there. We'll always have that together. But I just — I really do love acting, and I think, yeah, I would love for that.' Superman actor Skyler Gisondo is also set to join the Focker family, per Deadline, likely as Greg and Pam's son. Who from the original cast and crew is returning? De Niro, Stiller, Wilson, Danner and Polo are all set to return for Focker In-Law. John Hamburg, who co-wrote all three previous films, penned the screenplay for the upcoming movie, according to the Hollywood Reporter. He is also set to direct it. Roach is also one of the film's producers. Has the cast said anything about it? De Niro revealed that he'd actually been pushing for another sequel for many years. 'When we filmed the last one,' he said during a Meet the Parents 25th anniversary panel at this year's Tribeca Film Festival, 'I was sitting with Ben and John Hamburg. I said, 'Let's start writing the next one now.' And they were just humoring me. Now we are finally doing the next one.' Solve the daily Crossword

Blackpink's Rosé Gives the Exposed Underwear Trend a Fresh Update

Rosé brought the exposed underwear trend back to New York City. The Blackpink member was spotted in Manhattan on Sunday, wearing a coordinated bra layering top and exposed boxers beneath her oversized, dark charcoal-wash pants, adding her signature spin to the resurgent Y2K trend. The singer is the latest celebrity to embrace exposed underwear as an off-duty, streetwear style. The trend harkens back to and coincides with the rising Millennial nostalgia trends of the '90s and early 2000s. The style was a major motif among the sporty, streetwear-inspired pieces from the collection, which debuted during Paris Fashion Week in October 2022, featuring layered elements and exposed underwear waistbands throughout. Other labels and fashion houses soon followed suit. Ester Manas's fall 2023 ready-to-wear collection featured exposed underwear styled in a similar manner to the current trend, with low-rise waistlines that showcased underwear and lacy lingerie pieces. Among celebrities, Rihanna was ahead of the curve. The singer mogul has been styling underwear as outerwear for years now. One of her first outfits featuring the trend dates back to May 2015, when she sported her Puma briefs exposed beneath her wide-leg, baggy and ripped denim. The exposed boxer style toys with a gender-fluid aesthetic, offering relaxed fits within a nostalgic framework. There has also been a cheeky reinterpretation and reclamation of the exposed underwear trend, which recalls looks worn by Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera and others. Visible thongs, derogatorily referred to as 'whale tails' in the early 2000s, have also been reclaimed by a new generation. Aguilera memorably styled the trend at the 2000 MTV VMAs in New York City. The 'Beautiful' singer wore a dress by Trish Summerville, which featured an exposed underwear element as well as an exposed midriff. Contemporary iterations of the trend draw inspiration from the styles worn by Aguilera and Spears, among other stars. The subversive fashion statement aligns with the bra layering trend, which experienced a major resurgence in 2024, thanks to stars such as Sydney Sweeney, Kristen Stewart and Katie Holmes. More recently, Luis de Javier's spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection, which debuted during Paris Fashion Week in September 2024, featured variations on the exposed thong version of the trend. Much like the pop stars of the early aughts, Blackpink's Rosé leverages her celebrity to set trends and experiment with fashion's latest niche looks. The Puma global ambassador previously wore the oversized power suit style during an appearance on 'The Kelly Clarkson Show,' coinciding with the rise in women's tailoring and power suiting moments. Barbie Pink Convertible Built by Disney Up for Grabs at No Reserve Auction!

VOLO, Ill., July 28, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- The Volo Museum, world renowned for its collection of famous and one of a kind vehicles, is unlocking its vault to offer collectors a rare opportunity: a once in a lifetime chance to own the only known real Barbie car in the hands of the public. This official Barbie Pink Convertible, a custom Cadillac built by Disney and used at Walt Disney World in Orlando from 1990 to 1998, is going to auction with no reserve, alongside dozens of other iconic, unusual, and downright bizarre museum pieces. The seven day online auction begins August 1 and ends August 7, and anyone with an eBay account can bid. Originally painted white and featured in parades as Cruella de Vil's DeVille, the Cadillac was later repainted in Barbie's signature pink and became the ride of the world's most iconic doll. It also saw use by Miss Piggy during its time at Disney. What makes this Barbie car truly special is its provenance. It is not a fan build, but a documented Disney show vehicle, complete with Disney registration showing a VIN in Walt Disney's name, as well as internal documentation and email correspondence outlining how it was used in park productions. This makes it both a Barbie collectible and a Disney collectible, a rare cross category gem for serious fans and collectors. "This is the only one of its kind available to the public," said Brian Grams, director of the Volo Museum. "You will never find another Barbie car like this with official Disney registration and documented park history." The Barbie Cadillac is just the crown jewel of a truly eclectic lineup that includes: A 14 foot tall 8 passenger running and driving hot rod shopping cart A street legal larger than life Radio Flyer Red Wagon Britney Spears' personal Mercedes Convertible, once deemed the most dangerous car in Los Angeles A 45 foot tall 12 passenger Ferris wheel from the 1940s Dozens of rare antique kiddie rides and Americana themed showpieces "These items have delighted hundreds of thousands of guests," said Grams. "But we are always evolving. Letting these go makes room for new treasures and gives others the chance to enjoy and preserve them." All items will be sold at no reserve, meaning they will go to the highest bidder regardless of price.
