MCM and Snipes launch 'Make It Miami' capsule collection

Streetwear retailer Snipes and German heritage brand MCM have teamed up to launch their first-ever capsule collection.
Dubbed 'Make It Miami,' the collection draws inspiration from the city's vibrant spirit and its unmistakable vibe. It includes reimagined classic streetwear staples and high-end accessories in a bold colour palette of black, white, pink, and turquoise, accented by glittery studs, modern silhouettes, and statement logos.
The collection also includes two exclusive co-designed bag lines: a black nylon-bag collection that will be available exclusively at Snipes, and a white leather editions, sold only at MCM. Each line reflects the unique identity of the two brand powerhouses.
"Creating a streetwear collection with MCM is a bold statement. Bringing a luxury brand with such a rich heritage into street culture and making it accessible to our community shows what's possible with creative vision and the right partners. By rethinking partnerships and taking the step outside of the box, we are pushing boundaries while always staying true to who we are," said Snipes CEO Dennis Schröder.
Sung-Joon Kim, chief visionary officer of MCM added: "This collaboration with Snipes is a bold fusion of luxury and street culture, celebrating fearless self-expression and shared creative values. At MCM, we thrive on rewriting the rules through innovation and craftsmanship, and this partnership ignites that spirit with dynamic energy and global impact."
The collection made its debut with a star-studded launch event at the We The Best x Snipes store in South Beach on May 9. At the centre of the campaign is DJ Khaled, global music icon and Snipes' chief creative officer, who brings personal passion and hometown pride to the project.
"As Snipes' chief creative officer, I'm focused on bringing iconic collabs to the people — and this one with MCM really shows up and shows out,' said DJ Khaled. "The fact that it's inspired by the 305 makes it personal for me. And launching it at Snipes and my We The Best store - What we got is another one!'

The Pompidou Center, one of Paris' most radical and beloved cultural institutions, is preparing to shut its doors this autumn for a major five-year renovation. The renovation will see asbestos removed from all facades, major fire safety upgrades, and entire floors reconfigured - including the creation of a new level dedicated to children. Its vast collection of modern and contemporary masterpieces will be dispersed across museums in Paris, throughout France, and beyond. Work is set to begin by the end of 2025, with a grand reopening planned for 2030. The building that broke the rules and caused a scandal With its unconventionally exposed pipes and skeletal escalators crawling across the exterior, the Pompidou was once considered an architectural scandal. Early critics mockingly dubbed it the 'Notre-Dame of the Pipes,' appalled by its defiant break from the orderly elegance of Haussmannian Paris. But over time, the building - designed by then-unknown young architects Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers and opened in 1977 - won over the hearts of the public. Commissioned by and named after President Georges Pompidou - who died before its completion - the building was born from his radical vision: a place where art and life would collide, and where disciplines from painting to performance could coexist under one roof. Today the Pompidou holds more than 120,000 works of modern and contemporary art, featuring iconic pieces by Louise Bourgeois, Frida Kahlo, Joan Miró, Marcel Duchamp, Marc Chagall, and many more. No wonder it's such a hit. In 2024 alone, the centre drew over 3 million visitors, making it one of Paris' most visited institutions - second only to the Louvre (8 million) and the Musée d'Orsay (3.7 million). This year, the institution staged one of its most ambitious and politically resonant shows in recent memory. Titled Paris Noir, the exhibition (which ran until late June) traced the rich, too-often overlooked contributions of Black artists from Africa, the Americas, and the Caribbean who lived in or passed through Paris between 1950 and 2000. With over 150 artists - from Wifredo Lam to Luce Turnier, Beauford Delaney to Agustín Cárdenas - the show was a sweeping and visually powerful re-mapping of post-colonial modernity. Now, the final major show before the Pompidou's shutdown is a sweeping retrospective of German photographer Wolfgang Tillmans. Sprawled across what used to be the public library, the show brings together over three decades of work by the Turner Prize-winning artist, widely regarded as one of the most influential photographers of his generation. Titled Nothing could have prepared us – Everything could have prepared us, the retrospective showcases his wide-ranging approach to image-making across portraiture, still life, architecture, documentary photography, and abstraction. The Wolfgang Tillmans retrospective runs until 22 September 2025.

He hosted Nick Cave, organized the only Joy Division concert ever to come to West Berlin, and set up other clandestine shows in East Berlin churches. An Englishman, he stood out due to his iconic British demeanor, all while speaking flawless German. His name was Mark Reeder, and when he looked at you with his wide blue eyes, you knew they had seen a lot. He had haunted Berlin's nightlife in the 1980s, taking in all its sulfur and sounds. He shared these memories one afternoon at Café Zazza, in Berlin's eastern Kreuzberg district. He had arrived wearing a leather coat, the kind you'd see back in the days of the Berlin Wall, and boots he had bought in East Germany in 1987. Music was his passion. At the age when other children sang nursery rhymes, he was listening to "Telstar" by the Tornados. His first 7-inch record. "It's the first techno record," he said. He still had it. Reeder was two years old when Telstar came out in 1960. He lived in Manchester, in the United Kingdom. His father worked at the port, his mother in car insurance. "In the 1970s, the city sank into crisis. It was gray, dirty, grim. Only music saved us." Reeder began to hang out in record stores, befriending a fellow teenager, a record salesman: Ian Curtis, who would go on to become Joy Division's iconic singer. After a stint in advertising, he became a clerk at Manchester's first Virgin record store and became passionate about the pioneers of German electronic music: Klaus Schulze, Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, etc. "People didn't want it. A surprise announcement on the eve of the summer break. Serge Brunschwig's stint at OTB and Jil Sander has only lasted six months. Frenchman Brunschwig, who was named CEO of the German label owned by the Italian fashion group (alongside Diesel, Maison Margiela, Marni, etc.) in early February, and was also head of strategy for the group founded and directed by Renzo Rosso, has announced on LinkedIn he is leaving. 'Today is the last day of my mission for Jil Sander. I would like to thank the team for what we achieved, getting this beautiful brand ready for its next chapter,' he posted. In September, Jil Sander is expected to unveil its new aesthetic under Creative Director Simone Bellotti, who succeeded Lucie and Luke Meier in early 2025. The OTB group has thanked Brunschwig, who is leaving 'for personal reasons,' praising 'his commitment and the contribution he made during his tenure.' Ubaldo Minelli, CEO of OTB, who had been in charge of Jil Sander in the past, is replacing Brunschwig. A graduate of Paris' Ecole Polytechnique, of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Télécommunications, and of the Paris Institute of Political Studies, Brunschwig, 54, joined LVMH in 1995 as CEO of Louis Vuitton 's Asia-Pacific region. He was then CEO of Sephora Europe in 2000, and a director at Louis Vuitton in 2002. In 2006, Brunschwig took the helm of Céline, and then joined Christian Dior Couture in 2008 as COO, becoming also president of Dior Homme in 2015. In 2018, he succeeded Pietro Beccari as CEO of Fendi, where he remained until early 2025, when he joined OTB to take charge of Jil Sander.
