I just tested Google's Doppl app that lets you try on clothes with AI — and it blew me away

Tom's Guide6 hours ago

It seems like Google Labs is launching a new AI tool nearly every week, and this week is no different. Google just launched Doppl, a free experimental app (currently U.S. only) that takes shopping to the next level by letting users see virtually how the clothes will fit.
Gone are the days of browsing static model images, that may or may not resemble your own body. Now you upload a full-body photo and see how clothes fit on you and — get this — even move, on you. And it's all powered by AI.
Shopping online and see something you like? Just open the app and follow these steps:
Upload or snap: Choose a photo of yourself. A full body shot is recommended. Then, pick out an outfit from Instagram, a website, or even an online thrift store catalog, and Doppl overlays the garment onto an animated version of you.
Motion simulation: What makes Doppl different is that, instead of a flat image of you "wearing" the outfit, the app creates a short AI-generated video that shows how the clothes might drape and move as you walk or turn
Save and share: Still deciding if you want to buy? Save your favorite virtual looks or send the AI-generated clips to friends via social media
Google already offers a 'Try On' feature in AI Mode Search, but that shows clothing on a static image of yourself and only works within the browser.
Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips.
Doppl gives users a more realistic preview because you get both the visual accuracy and the added realism of clothing movement—making it feel more like an in-store fit.Doppl is better than guessing as animated previews help users assess fit, style and flow before buying. Designed for today's shopper who loves sharing on social media and discovering thrift finds, there's now no need for users to track brand listings. Plus, it's fun and free to use. Now available in the U.S. on iOS or Android, no subscription is required.
Download Doppl from the U.S. App Store or Google Play. Upload a full-body photo or use the built-in AI model. Upload outfit images from your gallery or screenshots. Preview the animated look—and save or share your favorites. Remember, as with any experimental AI app, it's not perfect. Google warns that fit and visual details might not always be accurate.
Google has mentioned that it intends to expand it internationally, and future updates will likely include more fashion categories, better movement fidelity and refined image-processing algorithms.
If you've ever wanted to see how a thrifted jacket or an influencer's outfit might look on you, Doppl's AI-powered videos offer a surprisingly realistic solution.
It's a smarter, more personal spin on Google's Search 'Try On' feature — and all you need is your smartphone and perhaps a sense of humor, because it might not always look perfect.

Comedian Jeff Ross Reveals Shocking Reason Tom Brady Agreed to Do Netflix Roast

It was just revealed why Tom Brady agreed to participate in Netflix's live roast of him - and the reason might surprise you. Comedian Jeff Ross, who cohosted the Roast of Tom Brady in May 2024 alongside Kevin Hart, shared during a Wednesday, June 26 appearance on The Howard Stern Show Brady's motivation for being the subject of the Netflix special. On the day of the roast, Ross asked Brady, "Why are you doing this?" According to Ross, Brady replied, "I love this kind of humor. People are too snowflaky right now," On top of that, Brady allegedly sent Ross a text that day saying: "No fear. This is what we do." The comedian also opened up about how to roast came to be, sharing that it took several years to get to the taping from when he first connected with the NFL star via Instagram. "I had seen him looking at my Instagram on Super Bowl Sunday a few years ago," Ross said. "I was like, Why the f**k is Tom Brady on my Instagram?' I go, 'Oh, I had some jokes up. Maybe that's how he unwinds before a big game.' And he f***ing wins!" It's likely that Ross is referring to Brady's Super Bowl win in 2021 as the quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, his seventh and final Super Bowl win as an NFL quarterback. "I hit him the next day on Instagram going, 'Dude, it's time for a roast. You obviously love this s**t,'" Ross continued. "He writes me back and we start talking and it turns out my agent and his agent, they work together. And we put a deal together to do a roast. Netflix is like, 'Sure!'" But just as Ross's plans were coming to fruition - Brady announced he had to decided not to retire from professional football, after previously announcing he was going to in February 2022. "He agreed and he retired and we were like, 'Let's go! Now's our chance.' Then he unretired," Ross said. "I was like, 'No, we got to wait until he's done playing. It's a little more fun.'" That opportunity came after Brady's second retirement in February 2023. However, the long-anticipated event was pushed back even more due to Brady's split from ex-wife Gisele Bündchen in October 2022 after 13 years of marriage. "Then he was going through a divorce and I'm like, 'Let's wait for that,'" Ross explained. The event featured Brady getting roasted by comedians like Nikki Glaser and Andrew Schulz, celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Ben Affleck and former New England Patriots teammates Rob Gronkowski and Julian Edelman. Google had several exciting AI announcements at I/O 2025, including new Project Astra features that will be available in Gemini Live in the near future, a new AI Mode for Google Search that will change the way you shop, and hardware demos of the first AR/AI smart glasses it plans to ship to consumers later this year. But there's no denying that Veo 3 (along with Flow) was one of the most exciting things Google unveiled this year. Veo 3 is Google's next-gen AI video generation software, and it's a massive upgrade over its predecessor. Veo 3 can produce ambient noise, sound, and even dialogue for your AI-generated movies. All you need to do is enter a text prompt that includes all the details, and Veo 3 will generate the desired results. Veo 3 went viral online after I/O 2025, and we saw a few amazing videos and short movies created with it. Also, an actual movie playing in theaters will incorporate shots made with Veo 3. The biggest problem with Veo 3 is that it's expensive to access. You need a $249.99/month Google AI Ultra subscription to make the most of Veo 3. You can also gain access to Veo 3 from various third-party services, including Adobe's Firefly, Freepik, and LTX Studio. But you'll still have to pay a subscription fee in order to use Veo 3. A more cost-effective alternative, coming June 27, is to go to Google's all-in-one AI cloud tool Vertex AI and use Veo 3 in public preview. This will let you try Veo 3 before you determine whether you need this AI video generator for personal use or work. Google said in a blog post that all Google Cloud customers and partners can access Veo 3 in public preview on Vertex AI. According to the company, Veo 3 brings these three features to AI video generation in Vertex AI: Fluid, natural videos that synchronize video with audio and dialogue. Veo Renato can synchronize your audio and visuals in a single pass. The model produces rich soundscapes containing everything from dialogue and ambient noise, to sound effects and background music. Cinematic video that captures creative nuances. Veo 3 makes it easy to capture creative nuances and detailed scene interactions in your prompt, from the shade of the sky to the precise way the sun hits water in the afternoon light, and produces high-definition video. Realistic movement that simulates real-world physics. To create believable scenes, Veo 3 simulates real-world physics. This results in realistic water movement, accurate shadows connected with objects and characters, and natural human motion. Google also posted a few Veo 3 samples, including the short clip it first showed at I/O 2025. Google shared additional Veo 3 clips made via third-party tools like Freepik and LTX Studio, alongside comments from these companies, which are working with Google Cloud to create AI videos for various purposes: Here's a sample made via the Freepik AI Video Generator: This one was made via LTX Studio: Finally, the next clip is a new brand created with Gemini, Imagen, and Veo 3: To try Veo 3 in Vertex AI, you can get started at this link. Why Was Joe Giudice Deported? Bravo Star Asks Trump for Pardon

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Reality star Joe Giudice, who was deported from the United States back to his native Italy in 2019 after being convicted on federal fraud charges asked President Donald Trump for a pardon on Thursday. "President Trump, I respect you and I'm asking for a second chance," Giudice wrote on Instagram, along with the hashtag "PardonJoeGiudice." Newsweek reached out to representatives for Giudice for comment. Why It Matters Giudice rose to fame alongside his now ex-wife Teresa Giudice on Bravo's Real Housewives of New Jersey. Teresa also appeared on the fifth season of The Celebrity Apprentice, which was hosted by Trump. Trump pardoned reality stars Todd and Julie Chrisley last month. The Chrisley Knows Best couple was convicted on fraud and tax evasion charges. Giuseppe "Joe" Giudice, from the "Real Housewives of New Jersey," stands during a hearing in the Passaic County Courthouse in Paterson, New Jersey, on October 15, 2014. William Perlman/NJ Advance Media via AP, Pool What To Know In 2014, Joe and Teresa each pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, one count of bankruptcy fraud by concealment of assets, one count of bankruptcy fraud by false oaths and one count of bankruptcy fraud by false declarations. Joe also pleaded guilty to one count of failure to file a tax return. Teresa was sentenced to 15 months in prison, while Joe was sentenced to 41 months. After Joe completed his sentence, he was deported to Italy. Joe was born in Italy and moved to New Jersey when he was 1 years old. He never obtained U.S. citizenship. He has since relocated to the Bahamas. Teresa and Joe, who share four daughters, finalized their divorce in 2020. Joe's Instagram post, which currently has over 38,000 likes, is captioned: "I'm Joe Guidice. I served my time, and I've been deported from the U.S. for nearly a decade. I was raised in Jersey. I'm a father of four amazing daughters and I just want to be allowed to visit them again. President Trump, I respect you and I'm asking for a second chance. @realdonaldtrump @donaldtrumpjr." Teresa commented on Joe's post on Thursday with prayer hands and heart emojis. "I love you dad," Milania Giudice, Joe and Teresa's daughter, wrote. Their oldest daughter Gia Giudice also wrote, "I love you." Fellow Real Housewives of New Jersey stars Siggy Flicker and Jen Aydin shared supportive comments on Joe's post. "I'm trying. Joe should be back home with his beautiful daughters," wrote Flicker, who was appointed to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum's board of trustees by Trump. Earlier this year, Joe Guidice appeared on his ex-wife Teresa Guidice's podcast Turning the Tables where he spoke about fighting his deportation. "I got a lawyer working on something, but she's been working on it and hasn't done anything yet, so, I don't know, we'll see. I did get in front of the embassy and they denied that was it. I paid a bunch of money for that, so...I went, and it took not even five minutes and they denied it, so I'm done with this crap. It is what it is." What People Are Saying Joe Guidice said earlier this year on his ex-wife Teresa Guidice's podcast Turning the Tables about missing the U.S.: "Well, I mean, you got friends, family. I mean, everything. You grow up someplace, you get used to everything. I mean, that's why I adapt[ed] here in the Bahamas, Nassau, because it's kind of like Americanized, and I always see American people here. So, I kind of feel like I'm close to home. When I was in Italy, it wasn't really the same. It was nice, but it just felt far. Like, here, it's close. It's only two-and-a-half hours away, and I guess because everybody comes and visits me, I don't feel like I'm too far." What Happens Next? Trump has not commented publicly on whether he will pardon Joe. Do you have a story that Newsweek should be covering? Do you have any questions about this story? Contact LiveNews@
