Erbil: 16 arrested, over a ton of Captagon seized
Shafaq News/ Kurdish security forces arrested 16 individuals and seized 82 kilograms of narcotics, along with more than a ton of Captagon pills, in recent operations.
Arkan Omar, an official at the Kurdistan Region's Anti-Narcotics Directorate, announced on Wednesday that Asayish had apprehended 16 suspects and confiscated the illicit substances in their possession.
'In coordination with Iraqi forces, two joint operations in Baghdad and Mosul led to the seizure of 1,170 kilograms of Captagon—1,100 kilograms in Baghdad and 70 kilograms in Mosul,' Omar added.

A detailed report aired by Israel's Channel 12 featured testimony from a woman identified by the pseudonym "Liel," 21, who recounted being assaulted by Abergil, a highly influential religious figure in the country. Iran: deadly fire erupts at methanol facility in Bushehr
Shafaq News/ Three people died and ten others were injured in a fire at a methanol storage tank in the Kaveh Petrochemical Complex in Bandar Dayyer, Iran's Bushehr Province, on Wednesday. According to the Iranian official news agency IRNA, the head of prehospital emergency services in Bushehr, Hassan Mousavi, noted that the blaze broke out around 11 a.m. and warned that the casualty toll could rise due to the severity of the incident. The governor of Dayyer explained to Tasnim News that the explosion occurred during welding operations on a vessel, which led to the fire. He added that firefighting, rescue, and ambulance teams were deployed immediately and that efforts to contain the blaze are still ongoing. Methanol is a volatile, highly flammable liquid commonly used in the production of fuels, solvents, and chemicals.
