Capcom Announces Street Fighter 6's New Characters By Paying Kenny Omega To Cosplay Them

Yahooa day ago

I don't watch wrestling, but I feel a kinship to Kenny Omega as a fellow Kenny. Well, I did, until I realized his name is actually Tyson Smith. He just took on the name, I was born into it. Anyway, since he is not a true Ken, I have found a new reason to connect with the wrestler after seeing him cosplay as every character Street Fighter 6 is adding next season. Omega is known for his nerdy cosplays in wrestling, so it's good to see him getting the bag elsewhere. I won't be playing any of these new characters because I am a Ryu one-trick, but I have to respect the craft.
Street Fighter 6's Year 3 roster update will add Sagat, Alex, Ingrid, and C. Viper to the game. Alex and Sagat were both recently playable in Street Fighter V, while C. Viper and Ingrid have been missing in action for at least a few entries. C. Viper last appeared as a playable character in Street Fighter IV. Ingrid, meanwhile, hasn't been playable since Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX.
Once all four fighters roll out, Street Fighter 6's roster will reach 30 characters. Here's Capcom's tentative schedule:
Sagat - Summer 2025
C. Viper - Autumn 2025
Alex - Early Spring 2026
Ingrid - Late Spring 2026
Street Fighter 6 launched in 2023 and has been getting a steady rollout of new fighters since launch. Each new character is implemented into the game's story mode, allowing your avatar character to learn their movesets and do fun social sim events with them to get to know them better. The game letting me fail to flirt with Ryu remains a moment more humbling than any defeat I've ever faced in the arena.

Jared Leto Responds To Sexual Misconduct Allegations

This story contains discussion of sexual misconduct. Jared Leto is responding to allegations, including several claims of sexual misconduct, from multiple women. Earlier today, Air Mail published a story that included interviews with nine women who claimed that the actor and musician had behaved inappropriately towards them. Some women alleged that the incidents took place while they were underage, and one anonymously claimed that 'It's been an open secret for a long time." The reporting accuses Jared of, among other things, allegedly appearing nude in front of model Laura La Rue when she was 17 years old, and allegedly exposing himself and masturbating in front of an 18-year-old before placing their hand "on him." In a statement to Air Mail, Jared's rep "expressly" denied the allegations in the story. They also directly addressed Laura's allegation, claiming that hers and Jared's "communications contain nothing sexual or inappropriate" and that she "later applied to work as Mr. Leto's personal assistant, further underscoring the absence of anything inappropriate in any of their interactions." In the story, Laura denied having ever applied to work for him. In response to another accuser's allegation that he would call her in the middle of the night and didn't "know if he was on drugs," Jared's rep claimed that the actor 'has not had a drink or used drugs in over 35 years.' The rep also told the publication that 'there was never any recruiting, complaints or impropriety" in response to allegations that Jared had hosted parties with the intent for young women to go skinny-dipping. The publication also reported that these allegations against Jared surfaced after DJ Allie Teilz reposted a Facebook status from 2012 on IG, alleging that she was "assaulted and traumatized by this creep when I was 17." Jared's reps say that her "allegations are demonstrably false." You can read the entire report containing the allegations that Jared is denying here.

Summer Game Fest 2025: A New Era of Horror Begins With RESIDENT EVIL REQUIEM

Capcom had everyone fooled during Summer Games Fest 2025 as they teased potential upcoming information on the next installment within the Resident Evil franchise, only to drop a full trailer at the close of the show. The next video game in the beloved survival-horror franchise is titled Resident Evil Requiem. The trailer lays out part of the narrative, but also teases fans with something they have wanted for a long time—the return to Raccoon City. This will be the first time the franchise has returned to Raccoon City since the government's use of a nuclear bomb to contain the monster-making T-virus. And for many, we thought that with Albert Wesker meeting his end at the end of Resident Evil 5, going back was never going to happen. However, with the last few installments tying the current storyline back to the original, hope started to brew. RELATED: 6 Horror Queens from the Resident Evil Video Game Franchise Resident Evil Requiem Trailer Breakdown The trailer for Resident Evil Requiem introduces a new character to the franchise, Grace Ashcroft, an FBI analyst. She is also the daughter of Alyssa Ashcroft, a character from the Resident Evil Outbreak series . Alyssa investigated the original outbreak in her hometown of Raccoon City and blew the cover of Umbrella. The resemblance is too uncanny not to be true. At the beginning of the sneak peek, Grace is seen typing up a report about a fourth victim of an unidentified disease found in an abandoned government office. If that isn't suspicious enough, Grace is approached by her boss, who is sending her out on an investigation tied to her current investigation. This new body has led them to the Wrenwood Hotel, the place where her mother was killed eight years ago. Things take a shocking twist as Grace finds herself tied down to a stretcher in a mysterious face. Then the trailer flashes through clips within the hotel, featuring a mysterious gentleman waiting for Grace, followed by flashes of Alyssa, and then numerous shots of Raccoon City devastated by the nuclear bomb. New Era of Horror The official website for Resident Evil Requiem states it will mark the beginning of a new era in the survival horror genre. This is thanks to the team's ability to blend technological advancements with a story full of rich characters and enhanced immersion. Capcom never holds any punches when it comes to taking their games to the next level. The graphics in the trailer look incredible, and getting a chance to tie into a lesser-known installment is exciting. RELATED: Movie Review – Welcome to Raccoon City In true Capcom fashion, little is known about the game. We don't know who the antagonist is or whether any of the franchise's iconic characters will appear. With a return to Raccoon City, we may get, at least, a cameo or two. We haven't seen any gameplay action just yet, but the Steam page does confirm that it will stay in the third-person point of view. We hope that the new installment will feature a mechanic similar to Resident Evil Biohazard, where much of Ethan finds videotapes to help flesh out the story. Grace could find similar things left behind by her mother to explain what had happened. What's Next for Resident Evil? We still have quite a bit of time before Resident Evil Requiem graces our computers and gaming platforms. This means expect more news to come. Capcom is also preparing to celebrate the franchise's 30th anniversary next year. We don't know much about their plans, but we know it's going to be big. Be sure to check back in over the next few months for updates and enjoy the brand-new trailer below. Resident Evil Requiem drops on February 27, 2026, for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. RESIDENT EVIL Main Storyline Games, Ranked
