Ex-Celtic star Matt O'Riley pledges loyalty to Brighton
The former Celtic player, who joined the Seagulls last season, has attracted interest from several overseas clubs. Reports had even suggested a move to Turin was imminent, but the Italian side would need to offload players first. The 24-year-old, who netted a penalty in Brighton's opening Premier League draw with Fulham, remains focused on contributing to the team. "I'm having fun. "That's all I know at the moment. "I did go to Fabian in pre-season to reiterate I am here as a Brighton player to help the team as much as possible. "I was aware there was a lot of noise around me and I think that helps just settle the situation in general." Speaking about his penalty, he added: "We've got a few takers. "If Danny's (Welbeck) on the pitch as well, he can take them. "I have respect for him. "If he wanted to take it, that's fine." Brighton fans will be relieved to hear O'Riley's commitment to the club.

The former Louisville quarterback has yet to play in a regular-season game. Mabry, 28, is out with a hamstring injury. Former Airdrie gaffer Murray could be handed the chance to rejoin the club where he spent four seasons before joining Raith Rovers in 2022. McCall, who is out of work after leaving Clyde last year, is vastly experienced with nearly 30 years in the dugout behind him. The 60-year-old is keen to get back into the game having enjoyed successful spells with Partick Thistle and Ayr in the Championship in recent years. Diamonds chiefs are currently sorting through candidates, with Murray and McCall firmly in their thoughts. McCabe walked after more than three years in charge, having initially joined Airdrie as a player in 2021. He was only 29 years old when his appointment as player-boss was confirmed. McCabe REPLACED current contender Murray in the role. The former Rangers midfielder led the club to promotion in his first season in charge, with Airdrie reaching the Championship via the play-offs. A memorable 2023/24 campaign saw the Diamonds finish fourth and reach the Premiership play-offs where they lost out to Partick Thistle. Ian Murray on the day his Hibs team settled for defeat to Rangers They also won the Challenge Cup that season. Last season didn't bring the same success and Airdrie ended up in the relegation play-offs. They maintained their Championship status by beating Cove Rangers 2-1 on aggregate in the final. But McCabe then quit as boss in Friday's bombshell announcement. The club said: "The Rhys McCabe era has been an exciting one for everyone at the club. "The board of directors would like to place on record their thanks to Rhys for his enthusiasm, commitment and professionalism throughout his time at Airdrieonians. "All the best Rhys – and thank you for the memories." Airdrie drew their opening league game of the season 2-2 against Ross County before losing 2-0 at Dunfermline last weekend.
