Just 12 minutes into the contest, Roman collapsed by the touchline with no one around him.
Deeply concerned staff members frantically waved for medical attention as the footballer lay unconscious.
An ambulance was subsequently driven along the touchline.
Thankfully, Roman returned to consciousness and was able to gingerly walk over to the ambulance.
The former Treble-winner was replaced by team-mate
Joan Sebastian Castro Dinas and later underwent a electrocardiogram.
An encouraging club statement went on to confirm: "Roman's electrocardiogram came out clear. He is back on the bench."
Roman then wrote on his Instagram story: "Guys, I'm fine… thanks everyone for the messages."
Atletico Nacional won the match 2-1, courtesy of two goals by former Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos.
Ex-Premier League favourite Hugo Rodallega netted for the home side, with the former Wigan and Fulham star still going at 39.
With Roman among their ranks, Atletico Nacional sealed a domestic Treble in February.
Hugo Rodallega is still scoring goals playing for Independiente Santa Fe
Roman has played for Atletico Nacional since transferring from Bogota side Millonarios three years ago.
He had nearly signed for Argentina giants Boca Juniors in 2021, only for the move to fall through after his medical.
Roman had been suspected of suffering with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, although further tests did not find evidence of the dangerous condition among his family.

Marcus Rashford one of four wingers ‘crazy' about Barcelona with Man Utd star battling Liverpool rival and ex-Prem ace

MARCUS RASHFORD is one of four wingers being eyed for a stunning transfer by Barcelona. The La Liga champions saw their attack explode last season with Ballon d'Or candidates Lamine Yamal and Raphinha contributing to 102 goals by scoring themselves or assisting a team-mate. 7 7 However, Hansi Flick wants to add even more firepower to the ranks in a bid to retain the Spanish league title and better their semi-final appearance in the Champions League - where they lost to Inter Milan. According to Mundo Deportivo, after adding goalkeeper Joan Garcia in a £21million transfer, the priority now is to add a left-footed attacker. A four-man shortlist has been drawn up to that end. The number one target on the shopping list is Liverpool star Luis Diaz, who has been on their radar for some time, while exiled Manchester United ace Rashford is also on there. Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams is another name on the list, along with cut-price option Ivan Perisic who is available on a free after being released by PSV. Below we take a look at each of the options and what they offer the Camp Nou outfit. Luis Diaz - Liverpool 7 Colombia talisman Diaz - a childhood fan of the club - has been flirting with a move to Barcelona for some time now and is said to have "made up his mind" on wanting a transfer to Barca. The 28-year-old is said to not feel valued at Anfield, where he scored 17 goals and added eight assists in all competitions. The Reds have not offered him a new contract ahead of his deal expiring in 2027, and he could fall down the pecking order with the imminent arrival of £116.5m ace Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen. Reports suggest Diaz has been told he can leave Liverpool for £51m, although that is above the price Barca want to pay and his current employers have already rejected an approach this summer. Man Utd outcast Marcus Rashford hits back at fan who abused him after he posted training video ahead of transfer exit Marcus Rashford - Manchester United 7 Rashford is on the for-sale list at boyhood club Man Utd after being exiled by Ruben Amorim. The 27-year-old was offered to Barcelona last January before he completed a loan transfer to Aston Villa, where he put in some impressive displays while racking up 10 goal contributions in 17 games. It is understood Rashford will be available for £40m this summer, while he would also be willing to take a wage cut from his current £325,000-per-week earnings at Old Trafford. Barca transfer chief Deco has already said Rashford is a player the club "likes" and Rashford is said to have told his agents to push for a move to Spain. Nico Williams - Athletic Bilbao The Spanish winger was the club's primary target last summer after a breakout season for club and country, and while he added more goals to his game in the last 12 months, he overall had a more low-key year. Barcelona now have rival interest in the attacker in the form of Arsenal and Bayern Munich. However, the 22-year-old is reportedly desperate to join Barca as he hopes to link up with Yamal and made his ambitions clear to Deco. He is understood to have a release clause of £53m. Ivan Perisic - Free agent 7 Former Tottenham star Perisic is a seasoned veteran and could be the perfect foil to the relatively inexperienced attacking set-up at Flick's disposal. Flick knows him from their time together at Bayern Munich, when Perisic bagged 14 goal contributions in 26 games. As a free option on the market Barcelona could do far worse, and the 36-year-old Croatia international is said to be willing to wait for Barcelona to make an approach before deciding on his future. His plan is to reach the World Cup with Croatia and knows competing for a spot at Barcelona will improve those chances. 7

Dessers deal must mark a line in the sand for Rangers, writes GARY KEOWN... and an end to the Ibrox club being soft touches in the transfer market

Just under a year on, the figures still bring on a weary shake of the head. Five first-team squad members under contract shipped out the door. A grand total of £810,000 brought in for the lot in transfer fees. As an indication of just where Rangers ' reckless, scattergun approach to recruitment had been leading them, it didn't quite carry the same weight as letting Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent leave for nothing when there was once £30million of offers on the table. However, it was every bit as damning. Arguably, even more sobering.

Liverpool's surprising secret asking price for Luis Diaz revealed with Barcola or Isak set to replace him

LIVERPOOL'S shock asking price for Luis Diaz has been revealed ahead of his potential move to Barcelona, reports claim. The Colombian forward opened the door to a surprise exit after confessing he was in talks with other clubs this week. Diaz, who has two years left on his Anfield contract, has been linked with an exit since last summer. Despite that, Diaz played a key role in bringing a 20th English title to Merseyside this season, providing 13 goals and seven assists in his best-ever Premier League campaign. Liverpool haven't offered the 28-year-old a contract extension and he could be marginalised after the expected £126million signing of Florian Wirtz - which would smash the British transfer record. Despite initially rejecting Barcelona's advances, Liverpool have reportedly told Diaz that he can leave for just £51million, according to Spanish outlet SPORT. This newly alleged gentleman's agreement is significantly lower than the initially thought £70million asking price. SPORT also claimed that Barca are "convinced" that they will finally land Diaz when the second-half of the summer window opens after the Club World Cup. His girlfriend, Gera Ponce, posted an emotional Instagram message which some fans believed was a farewell. She wrote under a slideshow of photos showcasing Diaz's triumphs in the 2024-25 season: "From the first day we arrived, we felt first hand what it means to be a part of this club. 3 CASINO SPECIAL - BEST CASINO BONUSES FROM £10 DEPOSITS "We knew the slogan was 'You'll Never Walk Alone', but to hear them sing it with so much passion, support us every moment and show such unconditional love... confirmed to us that here you never walk alone. "This fanbase doesn't just support, it feels. And what you have made my boyfriend and our entire family feel is something we carry in our souls." As well as Bayer Leverkusen star Wirtz, Liverpool have entered the £100million race for Paris Saint-Germain ace Bradley Barcola, who is often benched in big games for fellow superstar Desire Doue. Liverpool chiefs have also not given up all hope of prising Alexander Isak away from Newcastle. The champions have already spent £29.5m on Wirtz's Leverkusen team-mate Jeremie Frimpong, 24, with another £40m-plus earmarked for Bournemouth's 21-year-old left-back Milos Kerkez. 3
