Dolphins' Jaylen Wright: "I know I can be a top back in this league"
Wright said on Up & Adams that he is very confident he has what it takes to make an impact in the Dolphins' offense, for the full year this time.
'I know I can be a top back in this league,' Wright said. 'I feel like just my skill set, my ability and the system I'm in, it sets me up to be great. It's God's plan, staying the course. It's a long season, staying the course, doing what I got to do every time I touch that rock, every time the ball comes to me just make a play with the ball. I'm very excited. I'm very blessed to be in this position. It's going to be a very great year this year.'
Wright is part of a running back room in Miami that also includes De'Von Achane, Alexander Mattison and rookie Ollie Gordon, and he'll have to compete for carries. Wright has said he's in better shape this year and the Dolphins hope they see Wright produce for 17 games this year like he produced for six games last year.

Veteran Jets defender at risk of losing his starting job
The New York Jets made some changes at safety this offseason. Veteran Andre Cisco was signed in free agency to a one-year contract. The expectation is that Cisco will start next to returning defender Tony Adams. General manager Darren Mougey also drafted safety Malachi Moore in the fourth round (No. 130 overall) of the 2025 NFL draft. Adams played a sizable 766 snaps last season. The veteran defensive back played the fifth-most defensive snaps on the team in 2024. Under a new regime, it's possible that Adams eventually comes under risk of losing his starting gig to Moore, who head coach Aaron Glenn has been complimentary of. Adams was stellar, if not spectacular, last year. The fourth-year pro finished third on the Jets in tackles last season with 84 takedowns. Pro Football Focus assigned him an overall defensive grade of 66.4. Adams allowed a passer rating of 103.1 in coverage. Adams is no stranger to competition. The 2022 undrafted free agent made his way from roster-bubble player to unquestioned starter. Fending off Moore will place him in familiar territory. Adams is entering another contract year in 2025 after signing his restricted tender earlier this offseason. Moore is attempting to play himself into the Jets' starting lineup, and Adams is in danger of losing influence.

Davante Adams recalls his 'miserable...dark time' with the Raiders
Davante Adams is feeling pretty good these days. He's back in Cali with the Rams on a team with a big armed QB who has a Super Bowl ring. Well, he had that last year too with Aaron Rodgers, with whom he forced the Raiders to facilitate a reunion. But this time he hopes things will be different. It's certainly not been great for Adams the past couple years. After catching 100 passes for 1516 yards and 14 touchdowns in 2022, everything fell apart in 2023. The Raiders released his good friend Derek Carr, but the real problem was they still had Josh McDaniels at head coach. Or they did for half the season before he was fired and the job was handed over to linebackers coach Antonio Pierce. Pierce was a fiery presence, but he is a defensive minded guy. Not only that, but he wasn't great at the whole game management part. And despite Adams's number of catches rising to 103 that season, his yards per catch (11.1) and touchdowns (8) were his worst since 2015; his second season in the league. It was not a great time for Adams. "That was just a dark moment in all of our lives," Adams told ESPN at Rams camp this week. "I think all of us were pretty miserable over there." The subject came up because Adams is teammates again with Jimmy Garoppolo who was the Raiders starting QB to begin that doomed 2023 season. And Adams was trying to make sure Jimmy G know his feelings about that season and his part in it was nothing personal. Adams even said he and Jimmy G "caught up and laughed about it." For those old enough to remember that 'dark time', the Raiders locker room was elated in celebration when they won the first game after McDaniels's firing. There was a weight that had lifted from them. Like 'Ding dong, the witch is dead' kind of jubilance. Tho most of that energy seemed to be coming from the defensive side of the ball. That energy didn't carry over into 2024 when Pierce had the interim tag removed to become the head coach heading into the season. And soon the rumblings that Adams wanted out began. Rumors he wasn't happy were out there, but didn't really give a firm denial of their validity. And it only took three games into the season before Adams had seen enough and wanted to join Rodgers in New York. Times are not only better now for Adams, but better for the Raiders. So, everyone is happy.

Giants head coach provides update on former LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers after injury
Giants HC Brian Daboll says WR Malik Nabers, who injured his shoulder this week, is 'good' and will practice today. After a shoulder injury earlier this week, New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers is "good" and will return to practice on Wednesday, per head coach Brian Daboll. ESPN's Adam Schefter made the report on Wednesday. The former LSU football star suffered the injury during Tuesday's practice. He grabbed at his shoulder following a run block and went to the ground. After walking off the field under his own power, he met with the team's athletic trainer and didn't return to practice. The ailment adds to Nabers' ongoing toe injury that dates back to his days in Baton Rouge. It held him out of organized team activities (OTAs) earlier in the offseason, and he spoke about staying on top of it during an interview on the "Up & Adams" show Monday. Nabers will enter his second professional season after a No. 6 overall selection by the Giants in the 2024 NFL Draft. He was a front-runner for last year's offensive rookie of the year honor after accumulating 1,204 receiving yards and seven touchdowns on 109 receptions. Despite dealing with a revolving door at the quarterback position, Nabers averaged 11 yards per catch and was a bright spot in an otherwise dull offense. The Giants brought in Russel Wilson, Jameis Winston, and fellow rookie Jaxon Dart to compete for the starting quarterback role.
