Panthers DL Derrick Brown is asked if he's at 100 percent yet

Yahoo28-07-2025
Carolina Panthers defensive lineman Derrick Brown is getting there.
After welcoming his fourth child into the world this past week, Brown returned to the Panthers on Saturday to start his 2025 training camp journey. The sixth-year veteran, who missed nearly the entirety of the 2024 campaign due to a knee injury, was asked if he's feeling at 100 percent yet.
"I feel like it. Gimme a few weeks, I feel like it," Brown replied. "Right now, they got a great plan in place, just gettin' back in shape. Being able to transition back into being able to play the plays I've played before and be there for the team. I expressed my opinion to them and they've been nothing but compliant on when it came to that."
Brown went down after Carolina's regular-season opener in New Orleans, when testing revealed a torn meniscus. The Panthers then placed the Pro Bowler on injured reserve, causing him to miss 16 of their 17 games.
The defense didn't hold up well in his absence. The Panthers ended up allowing the most rushing yards per game (179.8) as well as the most points ever in a single season.
But Brown isn't looking back.
"I'm not gonna really touch about last year. It's in the past," he said of 2024. "My wife may not like me being at home. All I did was fuss and cuss at the TV. But that's all I say about that."
Hopefully for Brown, his wife and their third baby girl, he won't be able to fuss and cuss at home this season. This article originally appeared on Panthers Wire: Panthers training camp: Derrick Brown is asked if he's at 100 percent

Liverpool bosses CONVINCED Real Madrid talks are real

Those are the top of Liverpool Football Club believe talks involving Real Madrid are real. So where do they go from here? Real Madrid reportedly believe they have a wonderful relationship with Liverpool. That was a report earlier in the year as they continued their pursuit of Trent Alexander-Arnold. They'd land him, of course. Alexander-Arnold held Liverpool at bay for years, in fact, before deciding to reject their contract offers and sign for Real Madrid. Half of Real Madrid's team, it seems, was once linked with Liverpool. And they're not stopping there. There are reports all over the place linking Real Madrid with certain players at Anfield. Ibrahima Konate, Alexis Mac Allister, Ryan Gravenberch...; we wonder if a couple more could get added to that list this season. Especially if Liverpool perform as well as expected. 🔴 Shop the LFC 2025/26 adidas away range Liverpool believe talks are real Marca reports that Liverpool bosses believe Real Madrid are already talking to Konate. They're convinced that there have been discussions and that a potential agreement between the two already exists. The report goes on to suggest that Liverpool will offer another contract to the Frenchman but if it's rejected, they may look to sell in this transfer window. None of this should really be a surprise. When the Spanish media goes this hard on a potential transfer to Real Madrid, you can bet there's something in it. We saw exactly the same with Alexander-Arnold last summer and beyond, after all. It's just how things work over there and we fully expect that Konate has been in discussions of some sort with them. What's less clear is Liverpool's next move.
