GHMC issues show cause notice to Oakridge Int'l School for unauthorised parking
Oakridge International School has been parking its vehicles along the road at Khajaguda, Serilingampally, resulting in a blockage of approximately 500 meters.
This obstruction has been causing significant traffic jams and inconvenience to commuters, in violation of the GHMC Act, 1955, and the TG-bPASS Act, 2020.
Under Section 405 of the GHMC Act, 1955, no person is permitted to obstruct or encroach upon public property or government land. Illegal parking on public roads is strictly prohibited, and such actions invite penalties, towing, and legal proceedings.
The GHMC has directed the school management to immediately remove the parked vehicles and refrain from using public roads for parking in the future. The school has also been instructed to submit a written explanation within three days of receiving the notice.

Marksheet scam in Gulbarga University: loss pegged at ₹11.67 crore
A multi-crore marksheet scam has been reported in the Department of Evaluation of Gulbarga University, in which marksheets were printed in violation of the government orders. A committee headed by S.R. Niranjana, Vice-Chairman of Karnataka State Higher Education Council, has conducted a probe into the issue and submitted a report to the government stating that the university has suffered a loss of about ₹11.67 crore due to the printing of marksheets in violation of the rules. Minister for Higher Education M.C. Sudhakar revealed this in response to a question raised by Talwar Sabanna, MLC, in the Legislative Council session The previous BJP government implemented National Education Policy (NEP-2020) in the higher education sector in 2021-22. As per the rules of NEP, instead of physical marksheets, it is mandatory to issue digital marksheets to students who have completed their degrees. After the results of various examinations, the digital marksheets are uploaded in DigiLocker. Students can download these marksheets using their login credentials. But, Gulbarga University violated the government order and printed marksheets from 2021-22 to 2024-25. The university obtained these marksheets from the government press. Since digital marksheets were mandatory, the university did not distribute these printed marksheets to any student. As a result, the marksheets of more than five lakh undergraduate and postgraduate courses had remained in the university godown. The syndicate members of the university had objected to the printing of marksheets in violation of the rules, after which the State government had formed a committee headed by Prof. Niranjana to investigate the issue. The report, in addition to the financial loss, has also framed charges against 11 people, including the university's Registrar (Evaluation). 'The names of the officers/staff members who were there during that period, and their designations have been given. After examining the report, it has been found that Gulbarga University has illegally printed marksheets and degree certificates in violation of the orders issued by the State government, causing financial loss. Legal action will be taken against the officers/employees under the Karnataka State Universities Act, 2000,' said Dr. Sudhakar.

Show-cause notices issued to Oakridge International School for parking school vehicles on public roads
The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation has issued show-cause notice to the management of the Oakridge International School at Khajaguda, for using public roads for parking school vehicles. The notices were issued in the name of the deputy commissioner of Serilingampally circle, citing severe inconvenience to the commuters due to traffic congestion. A statement from the civic body said close to 500 metres of traffic jam was caused by the school buses on the Khajaguda road. This amounts to violation as per the GHMC Act, 1955, and TG-bPASS Act, 2020, which prohibit blocking of public roads and property, the statement said. This violation would entail penal action by way of fines and legal measures. The school management has been given three days for furnishing a written explanation, failure of which will attract legal action. Further, orders have been issued for removal of the vehicles, and to refrain from using public roads for parking.
