My Chemical Romance to return to Korea for the first time in 18 years
Emo rock legends My Chemical Romance are finally making their long-awaited return to South Korea, nearly two decades after their first and only performance in the country.
The band is set to hold a one-night-only concert on April 18, 2026, at Culture Park in Paradise City, Incheon. This marks the band's first concert in Korea since the show in 2008.
The upcoming concert is part of the band's new world tour "Long Live The Black Parade," which kicks off in the US on Friday. The band will visit 27 cities in North and South America and Asia, and is likely to add more stops.
Formed in 2001, My Chemical Romance — consisting of Gerard Way, Mikey Way, Ray Toro and Frank Iero — has released four studio albums so far. The band's second studio album in 2004, "Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge," and 2006's "The Black Parade" shaped the emo genre and brought it into the mainstream. "Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys," released in 2010, captured listeners with its bold, dystopian concept.
The band earned both critical and popular acclaim through numerous hit songs like "Welcome to the Black Parade," "Helena," "Teenagers" and "Famous Last Words," solidifying its place as one of the defining acts of 2000s alternative rock.
After disbanding in 2013, the group reunited in 2019 and has since experienced a powerful resurgence. Prior to the upcoming world tour, the band had successfully wrapped up its 2022 European tour, celebrating their full return.
Tickets for the band's Korea concert will be available via the pop music platform Ualive and ticketing site Ticketlink. Pre-sale for Ualive users begins at noon on Friday, while general ticketing opens at noon on July 14.

Five-year restoration project brings 45 films to venues across Korea through 2026 The 17th DMZ International Documentary Film Festival (DMZ Docs) announced Thursday a complete touring showcase of Frederick Wiseman's 45-film catalog, set to launch this September and continuing through July 2026. The 95-year-old Boston native, often called America's greatest living documentarian, has spent nearly six decades creating what he terms "reality fictions" -- observational studies of American life through the lens of its institutions: schools, hospitals, welfare offices, courts and military bases -- systems of power and control that shape the individual experience. His films range from his controversial debut "Titicut Follies" (1967), an expose of conditions at a state hospital for the criminally insane, to recent works like "City Hall" (2020), which tracks Boston's municipal operations from mayoral meetings to homeless outreach programs. Other highlights include "Welfare" (1978), a sprawling portrait of New York's social services system; "La Danse" (2009), which captures the Paris Opera Ballet in rehearsal and performance; "Ex Libris: The New York Public Library" (2017), exploring the public library's role as both a repository and a community hub; and "A Couple" (2022), an intimate study of Leo Tolstoy and his wife through their correspondence. The retrospective follows an ambitious restoration effort that has made Wiseman's works newly accessible to viewers worldwide. Thirty-three films shot between 1967 and 2006 have been restored in 4K from their original 16mm negatives, a five-year project involving the Library of Congress, Harvard Film Archive, and restoration labs DuArt and Goldcrest Post. Wiseman personally reviewed and approved each restoration. DMZ Docs will screen 20 titles during its Sept. 11–17 run in Goyang and Paju, Gyeonggi Province. The full 45-film program will then move to Seoul Art Cinema and Busan Cinema Center, with selected works touring cinematheques and arthouses across the country — including stops in cities such as Gwangju, Gangneung and Jeonju — through next summer. 'This retrospective offers a comprehensive look at Wiseman's lifelong investigation of how we live together -- how institutions mediate human behavior, and how people shape and are shaped by the systems they inhabit,' said DMZ Docs senior programmer Jang Byung-won. The festival will also host symposiums and screenings featuring scholars, critics and filmmakers from Korea and abroad, alongside the publication of a comprehensive catalog documenting Wiseman's complete body of work.

TXT's Taehyun, Le Sserafim's Chaewon collaborate with Jvke
Taehyun of Tomorrow X Together and Chaewon of Le Sserafim teamed up with American singer and songwriter Jvke for his new single 'Butterflies.' The upbeat pop tune was dropped Thursday night, and as the musician told fans in advance, it featured the two K-pop singers. He posted on social media, showing a glimpse of them on a video call, adding 'Surprise!! Song with tae & chae chae!!' Taehyun shared his satisfaction with the results and added that he is looking forward to singing it together live one day. TXT announces US tour stops
Tomorrow X Together announced the destinations for the American leg of its tour on Thursday. Between Sept. 9 and Oct. 2, the band will perform nine times in seven US cities -- from Los Angeles and Atlanta to Washington, DC, and Newark -- as part of its fourth international tour, 'Act: Tomorrow.' The tour will begin next month with a two-day show in Seoul. Meanwhile, the quintet will release its fourth studio album, 'The Star Chapter: Together,' on July 21. It uploaded the first of four batches of photographs on Thursday, showing the members covered in blood and bruises. The LP will consist of eight tracks, including lead single 'Beautiful Strangers,' and solo songs by each member, a first for the band. All five songs will be accompanied by music videos.
