Saiyaara Star Aneet Padda 'Heartbroken' Over Alia Bhatt's Jigra Box Office Failure
Aneet Padda has long been a fan of Alia Bhatt and was seemingly saddened by the failure of Jigra. Aneet Padda has become a sensation after the success of Saiyaara, and now her past Instagram activity has caught everyone's attention. Aneet has been quite vocal about her love for Alia Bhatt, and now, fans have found that she reacted to an Instagram post about Jigra's failure.
An Alia Bhatt fan page shared a post on Instagram that read, 'My biggest heartbreak in Alia Bhatt's filmography is a beautiful film like Jigra getting flopped." What caught everyone's attention was that Aneet Padda had liked the post. Fans gushed about Aneet's love for Alia. Check it out here:
Interestingly, Aneet's debut film, Saiyaara, has some connections with Alia. Saiyaara is directed by Alia Bhatt's cousin, Mohit Suri. Moreover, Aneet Padda enacted Alia Bhatt's famous confrontation scene from Highway for her audition. Casting director Shanoo Sharma recently opened up about how Aneet was finalised for the film.
Aneet and Shanoo met when the actress came to Mumbai to promote Big Girls Don't Cry. The popular casting director recalled, 'We worked for two to three days, did photoshoots and everything. I gave her a scene, which is the bible scene, Highway. I gave her that scene and called a senior actor, Manish Wadhwa, to do it with her. We shot that, and I was like, 'I have gold. I have gold in my hand.' She blew my mind. She won me at hello."
Interestingly, soon after the Saiyaara's release, Alia Bhatt asked Mohit Suri for Ahaan and Aneet's phone numbers so she could personally congratulate them. In a conversation with NDTV, Mohit Suri was asked about Alia Bhatt's reaction after Saiyaara. He replied, 'Yes, she went to watch it in the theatre. I was inviting her to a trial screening, but she said no, she would watch it in the theatre. After watching it in the theatre, she praised it a lot. She took the numbers of both actors and spoke to them."
Aneet Padda's Bollywood debut alongside Ahaan Panday in Saiyaara has taken the country by storm. Released on July 18, the film has crossed the Rs 500 crore mark at the box office and has emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters of the year. Next up, Aneet Padda will be seen in a courtroom drama titled Nyaya, which was filmed last year before she landed her role in Saiyaara.
