4 youths charred to death as car catches fire in Kanker
The incident occurred around 1:15 AM in the early hours of July 19 near Aturgaon, shocking the local community and prompting a full-scale investigation by police.
According to officials, six youths were travelling in a white Swift Dziretowards Kanker when the car struck the concrete edge of an old bridge located beside an under-construction flyover. The vehicle, reportedly speeding, lost control at a diversion point and slammed into the structure.
The impact triggered a spark that led to a massive fire, likely caused by a short circuit in the engine compartment.
Four of the six occupants were trapped inside the car and could not escape the flames. Two others identified as Pritam Netam (21) and Prithviraj Salam (19), both residents of Dunderapal village in Kondagaon district managed to break free and were rushed to the district hospital in Kanker with serious burn injuries.

Doctors say they are out of danger but under observation.
Tragically, the four young men who died in the fire have been identified as Yuvraj Sori (24), Hemant Shori (20), Suraj Uike (19), Deepak Maravi (19).
All four bodies were found burnt beyond recognition inside the charred vehicle.
Local eyewitnesses told police that the car appeared to be travelling at high speed while initial reports also suggest that some of the youths may have been under the influence of alcohol, a claim now under police investigation.
SDOP Mohsin Khan told reporters that a forensic team has been deployed to collect evidence from the site. "We are examining all aspects including negligence, and whether the vehicle was being used without authorisation. Statements from the two surviving youths are being recorded," he said.
Kanker police and fire brigade units arrived at the scene shortly after the accident. Firefighters used water from the nearby river along with fire tenders to douse the flames. However, by the time the fire was brought under control, the damage was already done.
Families of the deceased have been notified, and autopsies were conducted before the bodies were handed over.

Silchar: In a brazen cross-border incursion, a group of Bangladeshi miscreants allegedly attacked BSF personnel and Indian farmers near the international border in Assam's Cachar district late Thursday afternoon, leaving three injured, including a BSF jawan. The incident took place near the Kinnokhal BSF outpost in Katigorah, close to the Bangladesh border, amid heavy rainfall. According to sources, the assailants entered Indian territory and attempted to steal iron materials meant for repairing the barbed wire fencing along the border. BSF personnel stationed at the outpost intervened, leading to a confrontation. As the jawans tried to apprehend the two intruders, eight to ten more miscreants reportedly crossed over from the Bangladesh side, armed with sharp weapons, and launched an attack on the BSF team and two local farmers who rushed to help. Kanpur: The additional sessions judge court, Kanpur Nagar, on Friday issued a non-bailable warrant against a police inspector for non-compliance of court order. The court ordered to arrest the inspector and produced him before the court on the next date. Apart from it, the court directed to serve the NBW through mobile messages on the inspector's mobile and stop the disbursement of his salary. The court issued non-bailable warrant against then inspector Rail Bazar police station Ratnesh Kumar Yadav in the case of gang rape and murder of a woman. The court was summoning the inspector regularly to give evidence but he evaded the notices.
