Notre Dame cornerback Benjamin Morrison suffered a season-ending hip injury in October. He couldn't play during the Fighting Irish's run to the College Football Playoff championship game, and the health questions clouded his draft evaluation somewhat.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers looked past it Friday and selected Morrison with the 53rd overall pick of the 2025 NFL Draft. Morrison couldn't hold back his emotion on a call with Bucs head coach Todd Bowles, telling him, "Man, I'm not gonna let you down man. I promise you, man."

Yahoo Sports NFL Draft expert Charles McDonald gave the pick an "A" grade, comparing Morrison's upside to Asante Samuel Jr. and D.J. Reed:
Morrison's season was cut short with a season-ending injury, but before that he was the instinctive, playmaking cornerback everyone would love to have. He's still rehabbing a hip injury, so he might be a nice stash pick for the Bucs.

The press conference will be the culmination of months of speculation and guesswork by reporters, insiders and fans. Rodgers was linked to the Steelers since the New York Jets announced he'd be a post-June 1 release in mid-March. He was also briefly tied to the Minnesota Vikings and New York Giants, but it seems like the Steelers rumors were always the strongest. For some, Rodgers' arrival means everything. Some pundits have the Steelers poised for a Super Bowl run in 2025. To others, it could mean more of the same. Another disappointing end to the postseason, or worse, no playoff appearance at all. Inside the NFL's Mina Kimes believes even with the addition of Rodgers, there are still questions on offense, namely, the rushing attack. 'None of this will work, even if Rogers does buy-in, which I'm skeptical of. None of it will work, regardless of what the offense looks like, if they can't run the football better than they did last year. And that's something that they've invested in,' Kimes said. Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray named one of NFL's biggest enigmas entering 2025 Bucky Brooks names the league's seven biggest enigmas in 2025. Kyler Murray is one of them. Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is perhaps the team's most polarizing figures. He might be one of the more polarizing players in the league. We saw the talent early in his career and has played stretches of seasons at an MVP level. But he also has had very average stretches, too. As such, Bucky Brooks calls him one of the seven biggest enigmas in the league entering 2025, players who flash greatness but are frustrating. The former No. 1 overall pick is a gifted playmaker with a pair of Pro Bowls and the 2019 Offensive Rookie of the Year award on his résumé. At times, Murray has played at a high level and captivated the football world as an electric dual-threat quarterback. However, the seventh-year pro sports a 36-45-1 career record and lacks a playoff win as the Cardinals' QB1, having thrown two picks and posted a 40.9 passer rating in his lone postseason appearance. Though his early accomplishments prompted Arizona to sign him to a blockbuster extension (five years, $230.5 million) back in the 2022 offseason, the Cardinals need him to provide more consistent excellence to justify the return on their investment in a league that measures quarterback success by wins and rings. There are reasons for his uneven play. Injuries to him and key players in 2021 derailed their season, leading to their playoff blowout loss. 2022 was just a dumpster fire of a season for a lot of reasons, Murray's play included. But in 2023, he played the back half of the season coming back from ACL surgery with a roster that was gutted. He was better in 2024 but the Cardinals lost five of their final seven games and he turned the ball over more. He has been the quarterback to late seasons failures (2020, 2021, 2024), and while reasons can be given, he needs to shake that reputation. This season is important because the talent on the team more resembles what the Cardinals had in 2021. The defense has been overhauled and, when the Cardinals played great defense in the first half of 2021, Murray was the leading MVP candidate. Is this the year he had things right and carries the weight as a franchise quarterback, or will he simply be the quarterback who is good but not consistently great enough to be the difference maker on a winning team? New York Giants receiver Jalin Hyatt was drafted to open up the offense with his elite speed and knack for making big plays downfield. Through his own inconsistencies and poor quarterback play, he stumbled through his rookie season and face-plant in Year 2. Hyatt plans on changing the narrative on his career, and that starts at OTAs, where he has impressed with veteran Russell Wilson under center. The Giants' receiver sent a message to his critics in a now-deleted tweet. 'I hold grudges .. I ain't forget.' Advertisement Hyatt's 2024 season went about as poorly as a healthy campaign can go. He was at his best replacing Slayton for one game, but ultimately finished with just eight catches and 62 yards in 16 games. He is yet to find the end zone as a professional. Still, Hyatt possesses upside as a field stretcher, and that meshes well with Wilson, whose 'moon balls' have kept him potent past his prime. He spoke about his growing rapport with the receiving corps at OTAs. 'The time we spent in the offseason has paid off,' he told reporters. "The time that they've worked in their walkthroughs, all the way to how they've approached that to, obviously, our approach in practice. 'And the speed that they play with. You saw Slayton catch that bomb today, I threw it to him, and just his ability to make plays down the field. Advertisement 'Jalin, I'm really excited about him and what he's done so far.' Connecting with Wilson could earn Hyatt the playing time he needs to let his tools win. Head coach Brian Daboll consistently preached being aggressive ahead of the 2024 season, suggesting that he'll unleash Wilson now that he has a passer he can trust. Wilson is always positive, especially when praising his teammates. But that doesn't mean it's all smoke. Hyatt will have the opportunity to earn his quarterback's confidence and push for playing time this summer. So far, he's gotten off to a hot start. 'I think Jalin Hyatt, he's a guy that I really believe in.'
