China's first Legoland opens in Shanghai
The resort, which opened on July 5, is the first in China. It is one of 11 parks worldwide and was built with 85 million Lego bricks.
Among the main attractions is Miniland, which replicates well-known sights using Lego bricks. It features landmarks across China, like Beijing's Temple of Heaven and Shanghai's Bund waterfront. There is also a boat tour through a historic Chinese water town built with Lego bricks.
'My first impression is it is a good recreation, like a real fairyland of Lego,' said Ji Yujia, a Lego fan who visited on opening day.
The resort was developed in conjunction with the Shanghai government by Merlin Entertainments and the Lego Group.
The resort also features performances by Legoland characters. Tickets start at 319 yuan (HK$349 or US$44).

Discover Hong Kong's Wan Chai: free literature-theme tour opens for registration
Free literature-themed guided tours of Hong Kong's Wan Chai have opened for registration, offering 90 spots in August for participants to explore the district's historic buildings and hidden gems through the eyes of local writers. Advertisement Co-hosted by the Urban Renewal Authority (URA), the Museum of Hong Kong Literature and the Salvation Army in Hong Kong, the two-hour tour sessions are free of charge and led by Wan Chai residents. The URA said on Tuesday that there would be six tours, each accommodating 15 Hongkongers, next month, following its initial six tours held earlier this month, which saw more than 900 sign-ups. 'These tours draw inspiration from a selection of works that capture the scenes and stories of Wan Chai in the old days, reflecting another side of the neighbourhood,' said Yuki Yu Hwan-gung, the museum's operations and marketing director. 'Participants can also hear first-hand accounts from tour guides, who are local experts, to learn more about stories and developments in Wan Chai.' Hong Kong students brave black rain, heat to attend Ani-Com 2025
Fans of anime, comics and games braved black rain and sweltering heat on their way to Ani-Com & Games Hong Kong 2025, where they manoeuvred their way through a maze of booths in search of merchandise and the perfect photo spots. This year's event, which took place at the Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Centre in Wan Chai from July 25 to 29, marked the largest Ani-Com to date.
