In a heartwarming story that has gone viral on Reddit, two stray kitties have forged a bond that has melted hearts across the internet.
A post shared on Sunday under the username u/LegitimateAdeptness features striking before-and-after pictures documenting the dramatic transformation of the once-frail calico cat, thanks to the love and support of her new kitty brother. "My baby girl was fragile and traumatized when we got her. A week later, the tux [tuxedo cat] found us and he healed her," the caption reads.
The poster, Hasnain, told Newsweek that it all began on August 18, 2024 when they first got the calico cat, Momo.

Both Hasnain and his wife had always wanted to get a cat, although the timing never seemed right for them. But, then, a friend who cares for strays around the neighborhood said they had found a kitten who was extremely frail and needed a home.
"We jumped on the opportunity and brought Momo home," Hasnain said. "She was extremely frail; at 5 to 6 weeks, she was less than a kilo [2.2 pounds]. She had scabies all over her, but she was moving, pooping and eating herself, which was a big relief."
But then, about a week later, something extraordinary happened, which changed the calico cat's life forever.
"I was buying something from the corner shop, and our tux Apa found and attached to my leg," Hasnain said. "I remember bring him home with heart racing because I didn't know how my wife would react. But I couldn't leave him; he was so small. There were some hisses, but it took about a week or two for them to start playing with her."

Hasnain said that Momo is now a very affectionate cat now, and she feels right at home with other people, while Apa is just a "silly marshmallow,"
"He just wants to cuddle and he is always purring. Makes silly noises like an orca; slinks and walks like a Border collie; curls up in a ball to sleep like a fox," Hasnain said.
PetMD says that, while cats have a reputation for being solitary animals, they are still social creatures and can bond with other animals, especially with other felines.
But how do you know if your cat needs a companion? Some changes in behavior can give you a hint. These include extra clinginess, a change in grooming, eating or sleeping habits, destructive behavior, litter-tray issues, and a shift in energy.
The video quickly went viral on social media and has so far received over 9,500 upvotes and almost 100 comments on the platform.
One user, Beginning_Garden_849, commented: "So happy they both found their way to you! Beautiful kitties!!!"
IAmHerdingCatz posted: "Aww, she has an emotional support cat!"
Rinibeanie added: "The poor little darling T_T So happy she found a loving family and a fellow tux to show her even more love and bring out the best in her."
