YSR Congress Party Godavari Regional Coordinator Botcha Satyanarayana on Friday called on party cadre to prepare ground to visit every household and expose the failure of the TDP-Jana Sena-BJP alliance in delivering on the super-six promises.
At a meeting presided over by YSRCP East Godavari District In-Charge Ch. Venu Gopala Krishna, Mr. Satyanarayana criticised the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan for failing to deliver on the super-six promises made in the 2024 general elections, even after a year of being in power.
He directed Mr. Venu Gopala Krishna to prepare an action plan to visit every household and explain to the people how the alliance has cheated and misled them with the super-six manifesto.
Mr. Satyanarayana said: 'The YSRCP will intensify its campaign titled, Babu Surety-Cheating Guarantee', to help people understand how they have been cheated by the alliance over the past one year.' The YSRCP East Godavari district leaders vowed to gather data on the implementation status of the super-six promises and present them before the people.

Last Updated: Banerjee stated that only a few men commit such crimes and questioned what could be done if a friend raped another friend Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Kalyan Banerjee on Friday sparked massive political backlash after making controversial remarks about the alleged gangrape of a law student at South Calcutta Law College in Kolkata. Speaking to the media on the incident, Banerjee stated that only a few men commit such crimes and questioned what could be done if a friend raped another friend. 'I am not an advocate into the incident that occurred at the Law College but the accused should be arrested. A few men commit this type of crime…But what can be done if a friend rapes his friend," he said. 'Will the Police be there in schools? This was done by students to another student. Who will protect her (victim)? This (South Calcutta Law College) is a government college. Will the Police always be there?," he asked. He further said that no law or police could prevent such crimes unless there was a change in society's mindset. Banerjee added," College authorities are not part of the government machinery." BJP hits back Meanwhile, the BJP West Bengal unit strongly criticised the TMC leader's remarks. In a post on X, the party accused Banerjee of showing sympathy towards the accused. 'TMC MP comes out in support of rapists! In Kasba, a college student has been gang-raped by a TMCP leader and his gang. But TMC MP Kalyan Banerjee calls women's safety concerns a mere 'political agenda,'" the BJP posted. 'Crossed all limits of shamelessness' BJP IT cell head Amit Malviya also slammed Banerjee, saying he had crossed 'all limits of shamelessness." 'He trivialized the crime by saying it was committed by 'classmates." So rape by classmates is acceptable now?," the BJP leader asked on X. Etawah incident ploy to divide UP along caste lines: Akhilesh

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Friday launched a scathing attack on the BJP over the recent assault on a non-Brahmin katha vachak and his team in Etawah. He termed the incident part of a larger conspiracy to divide the state along caste lines. "The BJP is deploying its 'planted people' with strategic surnames from neighbouring states to carry out its infiltrative politics and disturb social harmony in the state. But the people of Uttar Pradesh are aware of the truth. Society here will not be divided by the actions of a few negative elements — it will emerge even stronger," he said. Questioning the BJP central leadership's 'lack of trust' in its UP unit, the former CM said: "Is there not even one BJP leader in UP whom those sitting in Delhi can trust? Is that why people from outside are being brought in to stage conspiracies and disrupt peace here?" Further aiming at the Yogi Adityanath govt, the former chief minister accused the BJP of opening the state's borders to "anarchic elements" who, he claimed, enter Uttar Pradesh, disturb peace, and leave unchallenged. Referring to the assault on the katha vachak and his team, including a visually impaired dholak player, Yadav said, "A handful of dominance-obsessed individuals didn't even spare the artist who 'sees the world through rhythm'. By snatching his dholak and levelling baseless accusations, such people have lost the sympathy of even their own community." He condemned the attackers as "inhuman and un-Indian", saying that those who truly revere India's cultural heritage are always compassionate and kind-hearted. Rallying support under the banner of PDA- his party's inclusive alliance for Pichhde (backward classes), Dalits and Alpsankhyak (minorities) - Yadav said the incident has united marginalised communities. TNCC president calling on Ramadoss fuels speculation of PMK allying with DMK-front

At a time when speculation is rife that the PMK may split — one faction under its founder S. Ramadoss and another under his son Anbumani Ramadoss — and possibly join rival electoral alliances, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee (TNCC) president K. Selvaperunthagai on Friday met Dr. Ramadoss at his residence in Thailapuram in Villupuram. The unannounced meeting created a flutter in Tamil Nadu's political circles. Mr. Selvaperunthagai told The Hindu it was a courtesy call and claimed that he decided to visit Thailapuram as he happened to pass by that route. 'Is it a crime to meet him?' he jokingly asked, before adding, 'We didn't speak anything about politics or alliance,' he added. However, sources in the TNCC said Dr. Ramadoss was keeping all options open, including the possibility of contesting the 2026 State Assembly election under DMK leadership. While those who have known Dr. Ramadoss for many years argue the veteran leader, through such meetings, is trying to show to his son who remains the boss, it is also possible he is simply keeping his options open to improve the party's bargaining power. 'We are with the DMK but there are misgivings and issues that need to be addressed. DMK doesn't accommodate our requests, and we are facing a challenge when it comes to nurturing our party. There is a possibility that the Congress and other parties in the alliance could raise the issue of power sharing in the 2026 State government. Such meetings give heft to the demand. If AIADMK has already agreed to it with the BJP [AIADMK has not endorsed the BJP's claims], why not the DMK?' asked a senior Congress leader. Sources close to Dr. Ramadoss swore there was no conversation about politics during the meeting. 'In fact, we are hoping issues between the father and son would be resolved soon and things would get back to normal,' a source said. If at all Dr. Ramadoss joins the DMK-Congress alliance, it would make the VCK uncomfortable. Its leader Thol. Thirumavalavan, has time and again, reiterated the VCK will not be in an alliance featuring PMK or BJP. In fact, it was Dr. Ramadoss who tried to mobilise the intermediate caste organisations against the Scheduled Castes accusing them of misusing prevention of atrocities act against SC/ST and alleging Dalit youth of ensnaring intermediate caste girls in the name of love. VCK general secretary D. Ravikumar, however, said, 'We welcome anyone who decides to walk out of the NDA fold and embrace secularism at a time when there is a threat to it. Whether he is genuine in opposing the BJP or just trying to create demand for himself and PMK? The doubts persist looking at his history.' Those close to Dr. Anbumani agreed that leaders from other parties meeting Dr. Ramadoss certainly improves his stature, but that alone wasn't enough. 'An overwhelming majority of the party's office-bearers are with Dr. Anbumani. Only he has the power to decide and sign on Forms A and B of the candidates. So, there is no question of the PMK contesting the election as two factions. The party will not split,' he said.
