McGregor breaks silence after being 'removed' from UFC as he gives X-rated reply
UFC Roster Tracker claimed that the Dubliner had been removed from the active roster, but Dana White dismissed the reports, saying they were "Total b*******".
McGregor's team also dismissed the claim, with journalist Ariel Helwani speaking to the former two-weight champion and his team.
In a post shared on X, Helwani wrote: "Conor McGregor HAS NOT parted ways the UFC. Both @TheNotoriousMMA and his team confirmed this to me. He also confirmed he is back in the pool, has submitted tests and all have come back clean. 'It's all systems a go,' he said."
McGregor furiously responded to a fan who shared the claim on X, writing: 'First test fully clean. P****." He deleted the post shortly afterwards.
The Notorious is planning a comeback next year, with a potential return on 4 July 2026, following White's confirmation of the promotion's planned visit to the White House on that date. White revealed he has plans to meet with US President Donald Trump and his daughter Ivanka at the end of the month to finalise the arrangements.
This will be the first time a UFC fight card will be held at the White House. "It is definitely going to happen," White, a prominent supporter of the US president, told CBS television.
"I talked to him last night -- 'him' being the president -- and I'm flying out there at the end of this month, and I'm going to sit down and walk him through all the plans and the renderings, and we're going to start deciding what he wants and doesn't want."
The UFC boss added: "When he called me and asked me to do it, he said: 'I want Ivanka in the middle of this.' So Ivanka reached out to me, and her and I started talking about the possibilities, where it would be and, you know, I put together all the renderings."
White isn't ruling out the possibility of McGregor's return, but he'll insist his star fighter shows real commitment. "I mean, if you see, he's been posting videos of himself training, he's back in the pool now, he wants the White House fight," White told Pardon My Take.
"Listen, if he starts getting in shape and starts training and stays the course, that's the fight he wants, he keeps telling me he wants that fight so we'll see how it plays out over the next few months."

Irish international Troy Parrott scores ninth goal of the season for AZ
IRELAND INTERNATIONAL Troy Parrott scored his ninth goal of the season for AZ Alkmaar today. The Dubliner produced a clinical first-time finish from Netherlands underage international Kees Smit's low cross. The Irishman's goal gave AZ a 2-1 lead in the 54th minute, but they were ultimately left frustrated and had to settle for a 2-2 draw against newly promoted FC Volendam. The 23-year-old also scored a brace in his side's league opener last week — a 4-1 win over FC Groningen. Advertisement Parrott has also scored in all four of his Uefa Conference League appearances — finding the net in two-legged ties against Finland's Ilves Tampere and FC Vaduz of Liechtenstein, taking his overall tally to nine from six games. Troy Parrott's 9th goal of the season already!🦜🇮🇪 — Rep of Ireland Player Tracker (@reptracker) August 17, 2025

Disappointment for Ireland's Keith Andrews in first game as Premier League manager
Updated at 17.04 EX-IRELAND INTERNATIONAL Keith Andrews has made a disappointing start to life as a Premier League manager. The Dubliner's Brentford side were beaten 3-1 by Nottingham Forest in their opening game today. Forest made light of manager Nuno Espirito Santo's pre-season fears over a lack of signings with a dominant win over a much-changed Brentford. Chris Wood struck twice, either side of Dan Ndyoe's debut goal for Forest, on a nightmare afternoon for new Brentford boss Andrews. 'It was a very good first half. The combinations were really good, beautiful goals,' said Nuno. 'This is why we are insisting on a good, balanced squad that gives us options and solutions.' The Bees have lost their manager, captain and top scorer in the off-season. Thomas Frank left to take charge of Tottenham, Bryan Mbeumo got his dream move to Manchester United, and Arsenal secured Christian Norgaard. Yoane Wissa was also missing from the Brentford squad ahead of an expected move to Newcastle. Igor Thiago's first goal for the club from the penalty spot late on was the only consolation for the visitors. 'I do have genuine belief but we have to take responsibility for a first half that wasn't good enough,' said Andrews. Alamy Stock Photo Alamy Stock Photo Meanwhile, Chelsea suffered a Club World Cup hangover as they were lucky to escape with a 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace to open their Premier League campaign on Sunday. Palace were denied an early opener when Eberechi Eze's free-kick was ruled out by a VAR review for Marc Guehi obstructing the Chelsea wall. New Chelsea signing Estevao came closest to snatching a winner for the home side, but the newly-crowned world champions were blunt in attack against a well-organised Palace defence. The Eagles' key duo of Guehi and Eze started despite mounting speculation that the England internationals are set to join Liverpool and Tottenham, respectively. 'As long as they are 100% committed, they will play as they are so good,' said Palace boss Oliver Glasner. 'They didn't just show they are great footballers, but they are great people and that's what I expected.' Eze thought he had opened the scoring with a blistering free-kick that had too much power for Robert Sanchez. The goal was disallowed for Guehi's role in creating a gap by man-handling Moises Caicedo into the Chelsea wall. Chelsea's demolition of European champions Paris Saint-Germain in the Club World Cup final last month had raised the Blues' hopes they can challenge for a first Premier League title since 2017. But Enzo Maresca bemoaned his side's lack of preparation time since beating PSG in New York just 35 days ago. 'They played about eight (pre-season) games, we played just two, so we tried our best,' said the Italian. 'We expected a tough game. Apart from the first half free-kick, we didn't concede any chances.' Estevao scored against Chelsea at the Club World Cup in his final game for Palmeiras. The Brazilian has been hyped as one of the world's brightest young talents, but he lacked the composure to finish when he sliced high and wide from the middle of the box. – © AFP 2025

How Brentford boss Keith Andrews' big day turned into one to forget in Premier League baptism of fire
Brentford's first game of the new Premier League season also marked Keith Andrews' maiden outing as a first-team manager, but it's safe to say it didn't go as well as the Dubliner had hoped.
