Brad Pitt Just Broke His Own Record With Incredible 'F1' Box Office
In short, F1 is Brad Pitt's biggest, most successful movie to date, full stop. With the massive success of F1, he's broken his previous records of big box office hits, and by a very large margin. Here's how the numbers break down.
F1: The Movie Box office, explained
As of this writing, F1 is the eighth most successful movie of 2025, with a whopping $546 million at the global box office, according to the latest figures from Box Office Mojo. This puts the movie ahead of all three of the Marvel movies released this year, Captain America: Barve New World, Thunderbolts*, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps. Produced by Apple, it's also one of the most successful movies coming from that company. F1 is also neck-and-neck with Superman; that superhero reboot has $551 million at the global box office, just slightly ahead of F1 racecars.
And, for Pitt, this isn't just a comeback; it's a new record.Brad Pitt's biggest movies to date
Prior to the success of F1, Pitt's most successful movie might not be what you'd expect. According to IGN and other outlets, prior to F1, the Pitt-led movie that made the most money was the 2013 film World War Z, which took in $540 million at the box office. So, now that F1 is ahead of that and still making money, it seems that Pitt has topped himself. At least for now.
What are Pitt's most successful movies other than World War Z and F1? Here's the rest of his top five.
F1: The Movie (2025) $546
World War Z (2013) $540 million
Troy (2004): $497 million
Mr. and Mrs. Smith (2005): $487 million
Ocean's Eleven (2001): $450 million
Before F1 hit, this top 10 list would have also included 2019's Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, which took in $377 million worldwide. A sequel to that Quentin Tarantino film, titled The Adventures of Cliff Booth, is currently filming, and stars Pitt in the title role. Directed by David Fincher, The Adventures of Cliff Booth does not yet have a release date. That said, as reported by Variety, it will likely be released directly on Netflix.Brad Pitt Just Broke His Own Record With Incredible 'F1' Box Office first appeared on Men's Journal on Aug 5, 2025

After 'F1' sponsorship, SharkNinja brings its two main brands together online
Barrocas says he got a number of texts from people who were surprised to see his company up on the big screen, and so frequently throughout the movie. Advertisement 'It was the first time that we've come out in a big way and marketed 'SharkNinja,'' Barrocas said in an interview. 'It's going to be a great lead in for us as we relaunch our website.' Barrocas declined to say how much the company paid to sponsor the fictional team, but the return, he said, has been equal to at least six times that investment. With the website, he hopes to encourage repeat buyers to try other SharkNinja products, and to tell the 'SharkNinja story.' (SharkNinja replaced the previous corporate name, Euro-Pro, in 2015, but the company continued to focus on promoting specific product lines as opposed to the overall business.) 'Now that the SharkNinja company has gained so much awareness, we really want consumers to understand that this company is the maker of these two great brands,' Barrocas said. Advertisement Not just consumers, but also potential employees. Building awareness around the publicly traded corporate parent could help with recruiting: A spokesperson says there are around 100 open positions at the Needham headquarters, where about 1,000 people work today. On the earnings call, analyst Randal Konik at investment bank Jefferies & Co. asked Barrocas about where the CEO takes the SharkNinja brand from here. Barrocas responded by saying every Formula One team has approached SharkNinja about sponsorship opportunities, indicating real life may end up imitating art in this case. 'The consumer is starting to recognize there's this great company behind these two great brands,' Barrocas told Konik. 'We need to take it in stages [but] I think there will be more and more opportunities for us to market the SharkNinja business and not just the Shark or Ninja brands.' File Photo by Rune Hellestad/UPI | License Photo Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Weapons, a new horror film from Barbarian director Zach Cregger and starring Julia Garner, opens in theaters Friday. Garner, 31, is best known for playing Ruth Langmore on the Netflix series Ozark, and recently starred as the Silver Surfer in the Marvel movie Fantastic Four: The First Steps. Her credits include several other films for fans of thrillers and horror. Here are 5 horror movies starring Julia Garner: 'Weapons' The film, hailing from Barbarian writer and director Zach Cregger, follows a town reckoning with the disappearance of an entire class of students. Garner portrays their teacher, whom many of the parents blame for the kids going missing. "It's very cryptic," Garner said of the film, which arrived in theaters Friday. "There is a lot of jump scares." Josh Brolin, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Benedict Wong and Amy Madigan also star. 'Wolf Man' In Wolf Man, which arrived in theaters in January, Garner portrays a wife and mother trying to keep her family safe after her husband (Christopher Abbott) is attacked by a vicious animal and begins transforming into a "monstrous" being. Matilda Firth portrays the couple's daughter. Leigh Whannell, who previously helmed the Invisible Man remake, directed the feature. "I was really inspired by movies like John Carpenter's The Thing, David Cronenberg's The Fly," he previously said. Wolf Man is now streaming on Peacock. 'Apartment 7A' Garner's character, Terry, follows her dreams of fame to 1965 New York only to twist her ankle dancing. When she accepts an offer to live with Minnie and Roman (Dianne Wiest and Jim Sturgess, respectively) her circumstances quickly deteriorate "as she realizes that something evil is living not only in Apartment 7A, but in the Bramford itself," per an official synopsis. The film is a prequel to Rosemary's Baby, the 1968 movie adaptation of Ira Levin's book of the same name. Mia Farrow starred in Rosemary's as a woman pregnant with Satan's child. Kevin McNally, Marli Siu, Andrew Cuchan, Rosy McEwen and Kobna Holdbrook-Smith also star in the prequel. Apartment 7A is now streaming on Paramount+. 'The Last Exorcism Part II' This 2013 film stars Ashley Bell as Nell Sweetzer, a young woman who is found in bad condition and struggles to remember what happened to her. "Just as Nell begins the difficult process of starting a new life, the evil force that once possessed her is back with other, unimaginably horrific plans that mean her last exorcism was just the beginning," an official synopsis says. Garner plays Gwen, a friend of Nell's. In a trailer for the film, Gwen appears to taunt Nell and is overtaken by a demonic entity at one point. The Last Exorcism Part II is available to rent on YouTube and Prime Video. 'We Are What We Are' In the 2013 film, Garner and Ambyr Childers play Iris and Rose, sisters in "a reclusive family who follow ancient customs." The trailer for the feature shows human remains showing up in a river as the town floods, causing Iris' family to realize "their secret existence is threatened." Based on the 2010 Mexican film of the same name, the remake also stars Bill Sage as the girls' father and Wyatt Russell as a deputy who investigates the family. The film is now streaming on Tubi. Garner's other credits include the TV series The Americans, Dirty John and Inventing Anna. Kevin Feige can't afford to make his 'X-Men' mistake after Marvel's 'Fantastic' fiasco
Marvel is struggling to find a win this year. "Thunderbolts*" was well-received, but that wasn't enough to prevent the MCU movie from failing to crack $400 million at the box office. It didn't even beat out February's "Captain America: Brave New World," which was much less well-received by critics and fans. Currently, "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" is performing well with viewers, but it, too, is falling short at the box office. It will be the top Marvel movie this year despite a dramatic second-week falloff, but it will lose out to DC's "Superman" movie from Marvel castoff James Gunn, and is causing all the wrong headlines for Marvel chief creative officer Kevin Feige. So Kevin Feige must be hoping for some good news somewhere. Unfortunately, his plan for an upcoming "X-Men" movie won't be the place where he gets it, because fans are not happy about it. For those who missed it, just before "The Fantastic Four" hit theaters, Feige dropped a ton of Marvel news. One of the revelations from his impromptu press conference was that "Thunderbolts*" director Jake Schreier will be casting a "youth-focused reboot" for his upcoming, untitled "X-Men" movie. That has not gone over well with fans. On X (Twitter) in particular, the reveal of the news by the account X-Men Updates engendered some negative responses. One user called out the failed "New Mutants" project as a reason not to go the youth route ... which is a fair point. Others posted angry or exasperated GIFs and one went so far as to call it "f**king bullsh*t." Not everyone was opposed to the plan. Surprisingly, the same announcement in the r/comicbooks subreddit was met with a mature, largely optimistic debate. Many just wanted anything that wasn't a tired rehash. Here's the thing, though: a lot of "X-Men" movies have failed. We love them because we love the characters, and "X2" and "Logan" are among the greatest superhero movies ever made. But for every "Logan," there's an "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." For every "X2," there's an "X-Men: The Last Stand." Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Those were from film franchises focused on older, adult "X-Men" characters. The movies that focused on younger iterations, like "Dark Phoenix" and "New Mutants," were bad enough that Marvel probably hopes you've forgotten they exist. This streaming bundle deal is a total steal if you're looking to get both Disney Plus and Hulu on a budget. But they do exist, and fans have not forgotten. Concern over the next "X-Men" movie has reached the point where some, like the popular "The Midnight Boys" podcast on the Ringer podcast network, even debated whether Jean Grey or Wolverine should be in Schreier's "X-Men" movie. Ultimately, it's the story that the movie tells, rather than the age of the cast, that will determine its success. "X-Men: 97" didn't shy away from younger characters and did just fine. Focusing on younger characters just for the sake of skewing younger is likely doomed to fail, but so is skewing older to avoid the bad taste left from "The New Mutants." Hopefully, once we get our first casting announcements, we'll start to get an idea of what Feige and Schreier have planned for Xavier's mutants, and Feige will finally get some good news. At the moment, all he has going for him are these awesome photos of "Spider-Man." Malcolm has been with Tom's Guide since 2022, and has been covering the latest in streaming shows and movies since 2023. He's not one to shy away from a hot take, including that "John Wick" is one of the four greatest films ever made.
