These fresh faces may see time on the field as the team looks to try out its new-look.
Rookies and Backups:
With the starters likely resting, the rookies from the 2025 class led by Will Campbell and some returning veterans like quarterback Drake Maye, cornerback Christian Gonzalez, and safety Jabrill Peppers might get more chances to play. Keep in mind that star wide receiver Stefon Diggs, a recent addition, is currently sidelined due to an ACL injury and won't be playing in the preseason.

Dan Quinn's Leadership
: Quinn has a winning mindset that can keep the team focused, even during a game that doesn't mean much.
Coach Dan Quinn will use this game to examine the depth of the Commanders giving a chance to some less prominent players to shine. After a promising 2024, the reserves of the team are willing to continue the good results.
Winning odds: Yahoo Sports gives the New England Patriots a Slight Edge
Commanders Wire has put forth a projection: New England Patriots 17, Washington Commanders 13.
This implies a slight advantage for New England, probably thanks to their home-field edge at Gillette Stadium and the fact that the Commanders are resting key players like Jayden Daniels. That said, with backups and rookies in the mix, anything can happen.

If you're tuning in on TV, streaming it online, or catching it on the radio, you won't want to miss this epic matchup. With Sam Hartman stepping in as the Commanders' starter and the Patriots' fresh offensive line making its debut, there's a lot to see, plus a tribute to Tom Brady to enjoy.
