Trent Alexander-Arnold booing should stop for Liverpool finale, legend says in Hong Kong
Alexander-Arnold was booed by some supporters at Anfield when he came on as a substitute in last week's 2-2 draw with Arsenal, having confirmed days earlier that he would, as expected, be departing when his contract ended this summer.
He is widely tipped to join Real, who tabled a bid for him in December. And former Liverpool captain and manager Souness argued the lure of the Spanish giants was the one thing that could top success with the Reds, urging fans to recognise it during next Sunday's season closer against Crystal Palace at Anfield.
'I'm a wee bit disappointed for him, he's given great service to Liverpool,' Souness said during a visit to Hong Kong for the HKFC Standard Chartered Soccer Sevens. 'He's won things [there]. He's been fabulous for them and he wants a new challenge.

National Games: Kho, Ding to lead Hong Kong's golfers in search of gold at Fanling
Taichi Kho and Ginnie Ding will lead a Hong Kong team of established and rising stars into a National Games challenge that could pit them against some of the best in the world. With the likes of men's star Li Haotong, who finished in a tie for fourth at the Open Championship last month, and women's world No 5 Yin Ruoning among their potential opponents, the city has named a strong squad for November's tournament, which is being played at Hong Kong Golf Club. Asian Tour star Kho will be joined by two of his Asian Games bronze medal-winning teammates, Matthew Cheung and Jason Hak Sun-yat, with amateur Jeffrey Shen Wang-ngai completing the foursome. Ding, who is playing her debut season on the Ladies European Tour, is joined by Olympian Tiffany Chan Tsz-ching, Arianna Lau and Sophie Han. Kho, who took individual gold at the Asian Games in Hangzhou and won the World City Championship at Fanling to become the first Hongkonger to win on the Asian Tour, said it would be a 'really special experience to play in such a prestigious event in front of friends and family'. Thousands of football fans descended on Hong Kong Stadium hours before Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr were scheduled to kick off against Al-Ittihad in the first semi-final of the Saudi Super Cup on Tuesday. Advertisement At around 5pm, all roads leading to the stadium were a sea of jerseys sporting Ronaldo's name on the back, as thousands from Hong Kong, Macau, mainland China and Saudi Arabia made their way to the ground. There was even one spectator wearing a shirt that combined Al-Nassr, Real Madrid and Manchester United colours and badges, all teams the Portuguese star has played for during his illustrious career. And fans outside and inside the stadium brought a party atmosphere, with Al-Nassr ultras banging drums, waving flags and handing out free scarves to rally support for their side. Not that they needed to. 'I came because I like Ronaldo and I support Real Madrid,' said Grace Chan, 24, who travelled from Nanjing.
