Dividends are a way for companies to distribute a portion of their earnings to shareholders. This distribution typically comes in the form of cash or additional shares, known as stock dividends.
Dividends are often paid out by companies that have stable earnings and are seeking to reward their investors for their continued support. The dividend payout serves as an incentive for investors to hold on to their shares, as it provides a steady stream of income in addition to any potential capital appreciation.
The dividend percentages mentioned reflect the value shareholders will receive relative to the nominal value or face value of the shares. For instance, a dividend of 600% means that for every share, a shareholder will receive Rs. 6, which is 600% of the nominal face value of the share.
These dividend announcements are part of the companies' efforts to reward their investors for holding on to their shares. Investors are advised to keep track of the record dates, as they are essential for ensuring eligibility for the dividend payouts.

According to the job post, selected candidates could earn between $180,000 to $440,000 (roughly Rs 1.5 crore to Rs 3.7 crore) per year, excluding additional benefits and listing, posted on xAI's careers page under the title Fullstack Engineer - Waifus', is related to a new experimental feature within the company's Grok AI platform, according to Business Insider. The word 'waifu' is often used by anime fans to describe fictional female characters they feel attached to romantically. And in this case, the name appears to be linked to one of the AI avatars launched on this week, xAI introduced two AI 'companions' on the iOS version of the Grok app—'Ani', a Japanese anime-inspired character dressed in a corset dress, and 'Rudi', a cartoon red panda with a split personality. Rudi's alternate version, 'Bad Rudi,' is designed to behave more aggressively, offering a contrasting experience to its default personality. A third character, described as a male anime figure, is also expected to be added to the platform soon. Interestingly, while Musk initially stated that these avatars would be available only to premium users subscribed to Super Grok, they currently appear to be accessible to all Grok users, even those without a paid job description calls for skilled engineers with a strong background in multimedia systems and product development. According to the listing, xAI is seeking talent capable of making real-time avatar interactions fast, scalable, and stable. The role is based in Palo Alto, California, placing it at the heart of Silicon the idea of anime-style AI avatars might seem light-hearted or experimental, xAI's move points towards a larger goal, building interactive AI companions that feel more personalised and emotionally engaging. However, the company has already faced some criticism for how far it's willing to push that indicate that Ani, the anime companion, can behave flirtatiously and even change into lingerie if a user continues to engage with her. Bad Rudi, on the other hand, has been found using foul language and insults when its aggressive mode is activated. These behaviours have raised eyebrows and sparked debate over how AI interactions are being designed, especially when emotional manipulation and suggestive content are controversy follows another recent issue faced by xAI. Earlier this month, Grok faced backlash after generating offensive and antisemitic responses. In one instance, the AI referred to itself as "MechaHitler", a term linked to a fictional video game character. The company later apologised and blamed the behaviour on deprecated code that made the AI susceptible to replicating inappropriate user content.- Ends
