Katie Price shares Harvey's 'sad' Peter Andre wish before tragic health update

Daily Mirror21-04-2025

When Peter Andre tied the knot with Katie Price, he vowed to be a father figure to Harvey and even tried to adopt him, much to the fury of his biological dad Dwight Yorke
Harvey Price will always hold a special place in Peter Andre 's heart. The Australian singer first met Katie Price in 2004 when they both starred on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!. Their whirlwind jungle romance quickly blossomed into a real-life love story, with the pair marrying less than a year later.
At the time, Katie was already mum to Harvey — her son with footballer Dwight Yorke — before she and Peter welcomed two more children together, Junior and Princess. There was even talk of Peter adopting Harvey, a move that reportedly upset Dwight.

Reflecting on those early years in a recent interview, Peter spoke fondly about family life, recalling the chaos of 'changing six sets of nappies,' a nod to his hands-on role during Harvey's younger days.

When Peter married Katie in 2005, he vowed to be the dad that Harvey didn't have. In 2009, he told the Daily Mail: "I have been a real father of Harvey and he calls me Daddy. I guess that sticks in Dwight's throat." As the years passed, Peter would post happy birthday messages for Harvey online, writing on his 15th birthday on Twitter: "Happy birthday to a very special boy. Hope you like your prezzies."
After he separated from Katie, Pete shared how their special bond continued and said he would always have love for Harvey. He wrote in his New! magazine column in 2017: "There have been a few times recently where he's been to my house and I've been to his. Harvey will always be special to me and I just want him to be happy. He's a great kid!"
Pete also shared in his column: "He's such a good-hearted boy, I see him a bit more now, which is amazing. He's just the best, I love him. There's always room for Harvey at our house. I always saw him as my own. There's a special place in my heart for him - he's very important to me and he's always welcome."

But according to Katie, as the years rolled by, the Mysterious Girl singer saw less of Harvey. In her 2017 book, Katie Price: Harvey and Me, she wrote: "The split from Pete really upset Harvey. It must have been frustrating for him at the time because he couldn't express how he felt. But now he can and he remembers a lot more than you'd think. It's really sad."
She continued: "I began to notice a change in Harvey, I'd say things like, 'Do you want to go see Daddy Peter today?' and he'd shout, 'No!' So then I'd be like, 'But he has a cake waiting for you'. But he wasn't interested and he'd start kicking off, it's probably because the visits were starting to fizzle out and Harvey could sense that."
But, she added: "Whenever Harvey saw Peter, he wanted to play a clip of the couple singing A Whole New World. Every single time, I want the ground to swallow me up. It's bad enough having to listen back to it, never mind haven't to listen back to it standing next to Pete!"

It comes after Katie shared her heartbreak over the fact her eldest child, Harvey, has seen his weight increase to dangerous levels. Throughout his life, Harvey has battled health issues - including a condition called Prader-Willi syndrome, which provokes a constant feeling of hunger.
Speaking on Snapchat, the OnlyFans content creator said: 'I'm so heartbroken and gutted that his weight is just going up. I just googled it in stones, 188kg is just a few kg of being 30 stone.
'It's so life-threatening now, I'm still waiting for the doctors to get back to me starting on the mounjaro and his journey to a healthy life.'
She continued: 'It's so sad his quality of life at the moment where he's so big, he just can't really do much. It's just another thing I have to deal with because he's at high risk of having a heart attack, he struggles to put his trainers or struggles to walk anywhere but I love him and I'm going to help him through this."

Emmerdale and Coronation Street facing major changes to cut costs, ex-soap boss warns

Talking on The TV Podcast, Peter said: 'You've got Coronation Street being made in Manchester, Emmerdale in Leeds. 'Big savings' 'Could you imagine, rather like the daytime consolidation, that ITV will decide to have them both made in the same place under one umbrella? Big savings. 'You still keep Emmerdale set in Yorkshire, but it could be made in Manchester and Salford, which is a bigger hub for ITV. I don't think that's inconceivable — it might be being planned as we speak.' Merging the two shows in any way once seemed unthinkable, but recently ITV announced that it would air an episode next year where the soaps would have a joint storyline. The news came around the same time ITV announced a merger of production between Good Morning Britain, Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women, with the expected loss of more than 200 jobs behind the scenes. Currently, Emmerdale is made just north of Leeds while Coronation Street is largely filmed at MediaCity in Salford, having previously been at the Granada Studios in Manchester for decades. Peter continued: 'The new hub for Coronation Street in Salford, it cost many, many millions of pounds and it was better facilities for all the people who worked on it in the old place in the middle of Manchester.' A spokesperson for ITV hit back at Peter's suggestion of a soap filming merge: 'ITV has no plans to merge the productions of Coronation Street and Emmerdale. 'Both are uniquely set in Manchester and Leeds, and that production model will continue for the long term. It's pure speculation to say otherwise.' Hollyoaks star helping to rehome dog from Many Tears Rescue

Malique Thompson-Dwyer, best known for his role as Prince McQueen on Channel 4's Hollyoaks, has joined the search to find a special home for Promise, a long-term resident at Many Tears Animal Rescue in Llanelli. Promise, described by the rescue as a "forever pup," has complex needs and has not received a single rehoming enquiry despite months in care. Mr Thompson-Dwyer said: "I fell for the little guy immediately and was so tempted to apply to adopt him myself, but he needs a home where someone can devote more of their time to him than I can. "Even my mum was trying to work out a way so we could as a family adopt him. "If I can help Sylvia find him the special home he deserves though, I will be really pleased." Promise has been described as a 'forever pup' (Image: Many Tears Animal Rescue) The actor, who has rescue dogs himself, became aware of Promise's situation through a mutual friend and met Many Tears founder Sylvia Vanatta earlier this year. Many Tears Animal Rescue primarily takes in ex-breeding dogs that have never experienced life in a home or known human kindness. Since its founding, the rescue has rehomed nearly 40,000 dogs. Ms Vanatta said: "I called him Promise as I made a promise to him that I would never give up on him. "On arrival he showed obvious signs of complex needs. "He had no spatial awareness, had very little control of his body, and was walking into everything. "He didn't respond to human attention at all. "He also didn't sniff, which is unheard of; it was as if his brain did not work like any other dog we had known." Despite his challenges, Promise has made remarkable progress with the help of the rescue's dedicated staff. Ms Vanatta said: "Through the sheer dedication of the staff here at the rescue, he now responds to his name, runs around without falling down, plays with a ball, and is learning 'how to be a dog'. "He's adorable. "It's very likely that he will always be pup-like, which means he needs a very special person to watch out for him on his behalf. "For example, he doesn't recognise dangers. "It will be like dealing with a toddler." Hollyoaks star Malique Thompson-Dwyer is hoping to help Promise find his forever home (Image: Many Tears Animal Rescue) Mr Thompson-Dwyer hopes his involvement will help find Promise the right home. He said: "The search for the perfect owner starts here." He has recorded a video about Promise that has been shared on social media by both himself and the charity. Mr Thompson-Dwyer said: "Sylvia has invited me down to the charity again. "She is a remarkable woman and the work the charity does is equally as remarkable." The actor first gained recognition on CBBC's The Dumping Ground and has since appeared in Guy Ritchie's King Arthur: Legend of the Sword and I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! He was the youngest contestant in the history of the latter show at the time, taking part at just 20 years old. Anyone who believes they could offer Promise, or another dog at the rescue, a loving home is encouraged to visit for more information.
