The fan wrote, 'Lately fed fans are asking questions about AEW and wanting to watch it. Should we gatekeep this promotion or letting them in?'
In response, AEW President Tony Khan urged fans to welcome new viewers with open arms and to stop gatekeeping. He replied, 'Please gatekeep nothing, sir. Please welcome these people to AEW with arms wide open.'
Ever since AEW's debut in 2019, fan wars between the two companies' supporters have continued, with many fans choosing sides early on and keeping the rivalry alive. However, it seems Tony Khan doesn't want this fan rivalry to push WWE fans away from his company. Instead, he's ready to welcome them in.
Tony Khan responds to WWE's counterprogramming strategy
At the AEW Double or Nothing post-show media scrum, Tony Khan addressed WWE's ongoing trend of counter-programming. He compared it to what WWE used to do to Jim Crockett Promotions.

'It's pretty consistent. I'd say it's the most consistent event head-to-head scheduling since Jim Crockett Promotions,' Khan said. 'Saw a lot of scheduling that went that way, and I can tell you that this will go a lot differently than that did.'

Update On Kamille's AEW Absence, When She Might Return
Kamille hasn't been seen in AEW for months, but is she any closer to returning? The former NWA Women's Champion signed with AEW last year and was aligned with Mercedes Moné. That alliance was short-lived, and Kamille hasn't been seen since their split more than six months ago. Advertisement According to a new report from Fightful (via Fightful Select), those close to Kamille have been quiet about her inactivity in AEW, but it's apparently for a good reason. The outlet reports that similar to Wardlow, Kamille is also busy working on a television project that will 'have her busy through part of the summer.' It's unclear if Kamille met with Tony Khan and decided to keep her off TV until the project is completed, and talent was said to be 'in the dark' about her absence. Some reportedly felt that Tony Khan soured on the partnership with Moné. Other sources clarified that Mercedes was willing to work with Kamille and do a match. The match didn't happen, but it was at least discussed back in December 2024. Kamille left TV after splitting from Mercedes Moné on the November 27, 2024 episode of Dynamite. Is Kamille still under AEW contract? Kamille still has 'plenty of time left on her AEW deal,' but has not wrestled this year, aside from a battle royal appearance in February. Her last match in AEW was a loss to Kris Statlander on the October 30, 2024 episode of Dynamite. Advertisement She and Damaris Lewis spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard while promoting Queen of the Ring. The film features Kamille (billed as Kailey Latimer in the credits) as June Byers, while Lewis took on the role of Babs Wingo. Kamille was asked when fans could expect to see her back on TV. However, she indirectly declined to answer the question, and Lewis answered for her. 'My client has chosen not to comment on the matter at hand. But we are open to more questions,' Lewis replied. Top WWE Superstar Pitches One More Match With John Cena
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Seth Rollins has expressed a strong desire to share the ring with John Cena one more time before the 17-time World Champion's retirement at the end of 2025. In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Rollins called out his former rival, referencing their heated history. This comes as Cena is in the midst of his final year as an active competitor, a heel "retirement tour" as the Undisputed WWE Champion. This has led many WWE fans to speculate about which classic rivalries Cena might revisit before he hangs up his boots for good. When asked about facing Cena again, Rollins stated, "I hope so. I hope so." He then referenced a more recent, positive experience teaming with Cena in India in September 2023. "John and I teamed a couple of years ago in India at a random show, a wonderful show there. I teamed with him and it was one of the wildest experiences I've ever had in a ring." Despite their successful team-up, Rollins made his competitive intentions clear. "I would love to face off with him one more time and get another chance to break his big old nose," Rollins declared. He immediately warned: "This knee is coming for you, John. I'd love to get one in before he hangs it up." LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - APRIL 20: John Cena walks to the ring as he is introduced before his match against Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship during WrestleMania 41 at Allegiant Stadium on April 20, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. MoreMore news: WWE News: Steve Austin Reveals Real-Life Vince McMahon Confrontation Rollins' comment about breaking Cena's nose directly references their famous feud in 2014 and 2015. On the July 27, 2015, episode of Raw, Rollins' knee strike legitimately broke Cena's nose during a match. Their rivalry was a cornerstone of WWE programming during that era, culminating in a "Winner Take All" match at SummerSlam 2015, where Rollins defeated Cena to hold both the WWE and United States Championships. Currently, both men are top heels on their respective brands. Rollins is a leader of a new dominant faction on Raw and is a participant in this Saturday's Money in the Bank ladder match. Cena, aligned with Logan Paul, is set to face Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso in a major tag team match at the same premium live event. With Cena's retirement tour ending in December, the window for a final, epic showdown between the two former rivals is closing. More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.

America is gonna run out of popcorn: Savage internet memes troll Musk and Trump during online meltdown
The internet was savage watching the explosive public split between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk - and used the opprotunity to blast memes across social media. 'Elon finally found a way to make Twitter fun again,' former senior Obama adviser and podcast host Dan Pfeiffer summarized in a post on X. The whole world got a front-row seat to the spectacle between the former 'first buddy' and the president Thursday, when they traded blows on their respective social media platforms, Truth Social and X. It began with Musk's critique of Trump's 'big, beautiful bill,' and spiraled into a mudslinging match between the two billionaires. 'BREAKING: Vladimir Putin has offered to negotiate a peace deal between President Trump and Elon Musk,' X user Amuse wrote. Social media users, including Democrats, have been sharing hilarious memes of the breakup, drawing inspiration from Real Housewives to Mean Girls. One user shared a meme from Mean Girls of Musk writing about Trump in the 'Burn Book.' Democratic Rep. Melanie Stansbury of New Mexico shared a meme about the blow-up: 'Real Housewives of Pennsylvania Ave,' the congresswoman posted. Another prominent X account that Musk often interacts with shared a photo of the president with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg. 'Your name is Elon now,' it said. Others poked fun at Vice President JD Vance. 'Who gets JD Vance in the divorce?' said another. Someone else shared a photo of the Tesla Cybertruck that exploded outside the Trump hotel in Las Vegas on January 1. 'It was foretold,' the post said. AMERICA'S GOING TO RUN OUT OF POPCORN — Jeff Tiedrich (@itsJeffTiedrich) June 5, 2025 The fallout between the two men, who at one point were almost inseparable, took a personal turn Thursday. The spat culminated in a bombshell claim from Musk that the president was 'in the Epstein files.' 'That is the real reason they have not been made public,' Musk wrote, signing off: 'Have a good day, DJT!' Ten minutes later, he added: 'Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.' Watching Trump and Elon fight: — Read Starting Somewhere (@JPHilllllll) June 5, 2025 It was foretold. — Middle Age Riot (@middleageriot) June 5, 2025 We've got the 👏 receipts 👏 proof 👏 timelines 👏 screenshots 👏 on this messy internet lives forever! — Rep. Melanie Stansbury (@Rep_Stansbury) June 5, 2025 Days after leaving his role as Special Advisor to the Trump administration, as a figurehead of the Department of Government Efficiency, Musk lashed out at the president's 'big beautiful bill,' calling it 'pork-filled' and an 'abomination.' Trump had previously taken the high road on the issue. Earlier, during a meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, the president told reporters he was 'very disappointed,' with his former 'first buddy.' Trump was asked about his former adviser's recent comments against the spending bill working its way through Congress. 'Elon knew the inner workings of this bill better than anyone... and he only developed a problem when he found out I would cut the EV (electric vehicle) mandate... And it really is unfair,' he replied. Who gets JD Vance in the divorce — PointlessHub (@HubPointless) June 5, 2025 "Your name is Elon now." — Autism Capital 🧩 (@AutismCapital) June 5, 2025 — Coffeezilla (@coffeebreak_YT) June 5, 2025 Trump also claimed that during the presidential election he could have won the crucial battleground state of Pennsylvania without Musk's help. 'Without me, Trump would have lost the election, Dems would control the House and the Republicans would be 51-49 in the Senate,' Musk shot back on X minutes later. 'Such ingratitude,' he added in a separate post. The White House took a more diplomatic tone. 'This is an unfortunate episode from Elon, who is unhappy with the One Big Beautiful Bill because it does not include the policies he wanted,' Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement. 'The President is focused on passing this historic piece of legislation and making our country great again.' Trump appears to have thrown cold water on the notion that he and Musk could speak Friday. In a call with ABC News, the president dismissed Musk as 'the man who has lost his mind' and said he was 'not particularly' interested in reconciliation.
