The entertainment company has kept fans intrigued, stating, "We will officially tell you the exact date of the comeback later."

During his service, Big Hit maintained his presence in the industry by releasing his special album "HOPE ON THE STREET VOL. 1."

Billy Joel Doc Makers Lament Ailing Subject Couldn't Make Tribeca Opening Night but Insist 'He's Going to Be Fine'
The 2025 Tribeca Festival kicked off with the world premiere of the HBO documentary Billy Joel: And So it Goes, but its subject was unable to attend the celebration. Joel announced last week that he had been diagnosed with brain disorder normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), leading him to cancel his upcoming concerts and prompting concern from fans. More from The Hollywood Reporter Diddy Trial: Forensic Video Expert and Cassie Ventura's Best Friend Bolster and Hinder Prosecution's Case 'Lee Soo Man: King of K-Pop' Director and Subject Talk New Prime Video Documentary Jimmy Buffett's $275 Million Estate Sparks Sprawling Margaritaville Legal Battle In keeping with that focus on recovery, Joel wasn't on hand for the Tribeca Festival opening night celebration, but the directors and producers of the two-part film, echoing comments made yesterday from Joel friend Howard Stern, indicated there's no reason to be too concerned about the 'Piano Man' performer. 'He's going to be fine,' co-director Susan Lacy told The Hollywood Reporter before Wednesday night's screening. 'He just needs to recover. He needs to do the physical therapy, which he's doing — the doctors were telling him yesterday he'll be fine.' Lacy and co-director Jessica Levin added, 'He'll be back,' sharing a message from the performer in their opening remarks in which he made light of his condition, showing his sense of humor is still intact. 'Getting old sucks, but it's still preferable to getting cremated,' Joel said via a message read by Lacy onstage. Joel's longtime lighting director and And So it Goes executive producer Steve Cohen shared that he spoke to Joel that day. 'He's doing great. He's working on his healing and recovery,' Cohen told THR before Wednesday night's premiere. 'He's bright; he's happy; he's thrilled for us. He called me and said, 'I'm so proud of the work you've done. I didn't expect you to get there,' and just great stuff. He's a good guy, that's what he is. I think he's going to be spending time with the family. He's going to be doing what he needs to do to heal from this condition and the prognosis is good. At least he's happy. He's my boss; he's my collaborator. At the end of the day, he's my best friend and I don't give a shit about anything else except him being healthy and enjoying this part of his life. We have done everything. He has climbed the highest mountain. He's accomplished anything anyone could ever want.' Still, the team behind the film said it was 'bittersweet' that they were premiering it without him. 'We wanted him to be here and hoped he would be here, and he wanted to be here,' Lacy said. Producer Emma Pildes added, 'This is hard, but this is what our bodies do to us. But this is a celebration of him and his artistry and everything that he's done. And we just wish that he was able to share that with us and be here with us.' Though Joel didn't make it uptown for the premiere at New York's Beacon Theatre, the event was attended by such stars as Whoopi Goldberg, Mariska Hargitay, Mira Sorvino and Tom Hanks, who executive produces the And So it Goes with his Playtone partner Gary Goetzman. And Tribeca co-founders Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal were on hand for the opening night gala, even reciting some lines from Joel's hits like 'Movin' Out,' 'Only the Good Die Young,' 'New York State of Mind' and 'You May Be Right' during their opening remarks. In a statement when Joel's brain disorder was announced, De Niro and Rosenthal shared their 'love and full support' for the musician, wishing him a 'healthy recovery.' 'Our hearts are with Billy Joel and his family following today's announcement. As a New York icon and global music legend, he has profoundly shaped the cultural fabric of this city and touched audiences around the world. We send our love and full support and wish him strength and a healthy recovery,' the pair said at the time. 'We're deeply honored that this year's opening night celebrates his remarkable legacy and enduring influence on New York's cultural landscape. This is the perfect moment to recognize a creative force whose work reflects the very soul of our city — and the heart of Tribeca.' Though only the first part of the two-part And So it Goes was screened Wednesday night, both installments will premiere on HBO and Max this summer. SEVENTEEN Leads K-Pop's Highest Midyear Boxscore Total
On Wednesday (May 28), Billboard revealed its midyear Boxscore charts, celebrating the top-grossing and best-selling artists, venues, and concert promoters around the world between Oct. 1, 2024, and March 31, 2025. Amid the pop, rock, R&B and Latin acts that blanket the Top Tours ranking, an unprecedented string of K-pop artists are in the mix, with five such acts among the all-genre top 50. More from Billboard Lil Wayne Announces Tha Carter VI Tour Ahead of Album's Arrival Drake & PARTYNEXTDOOR Announce '$ome $pecial $hows 4 U.K.' Tour Dates Megyn Kelly Slams Beyoncé for 'Playing Victim' by Using Footage of Her in Cowboy Carter Tour Visuals SEVENTEEN leads the pack, as it did for K-pop on midyear recaps for 2024 and 2023. But after grossing $30 million on the 2023 list, and $67.5 million for 2024, the group is No. 3 on the overall tally with $120.9 million and 842,000 tickets sold, according to figures reported to Billboard Boxscore. The group is sandwiched between Shakira at No. 2 ($130 million) and Eagles at No. 4 ($112.2 million). SEVENTEEN is the highest-ranking Korean act ever on the all-genre midyear list, surpassing BTS' No. 4 rank in 2022. BTS did manage a matching No. 3 rank on 2019's year-end tally, but hadn't played enough shows in the first half of that chart year to appear on the midyear chart. Not only has K-pop's top artist essentially doubled its midyear gross for the second consecutive year, but the bench is deepening. This year's all-genre top 50 includes five K-pop acts, up from three in 2023 and 2024, and two in 2022. The threshold for K-pop's top five is $25.1 million at the midyear point – this time last year, it was $3.1 million. After SEVENTEEN, ATEEZ and J-Hope are next at Nos. 2-3 on Top Tours by Genre (K-pop), each with earnings of more than $28 million. The latter is the first K-pop soloist to make the midyear overall Top Tours chart, though he previously was included with his fellow BTS bandmates. ENHYPEN and TOMORROW X TOGETHER round out the list, also within a couple percentage points of one another above the $25 million mark. These four groups and one soloist made their millions while proving the international strength of Korean artists. During the six-month tracking period, they toured arenas and stadiums throughout Asia (SEVENTEEN, J-Hope, ENHYPEN and TOMORROW X TOGETHER), Europe (ATEEZ and TOMORROW X TOGETHER), Mexico (J-Hope) and the U.S. (SEVENTEEN and J-Hope). Altogether, K-pop acts on the midyear Top Tours chart brought in a collective $228 million and sold 1.6 million tickets from 78 shows. That marks a 79% increase over the genre's 2024 showing, which itself was a 93% jump from 2023. In just two years, K-pop has more than tripled its presence on the midyear chart. File Photo by Keizo Mori/UPI | License Photo June 9 (UPI) -- South Korean girl group Itzy is back with new music. The K-pop stars released the EP Girls Will Be Girls and a music video for their song of the same name Monday. The "Girls Will Be Girls" video shows the members of Itzy fighting to survive in a world populated with flying monsters. At one point, Lia is seen running from the creatures and is saved by her bandmates. Fans speculated the scene may reference Lia's 2023 hiatus and return to the group. Girls Will Be Girls also features the songs "Kiss & Tell," "Locked N Loaded," "Promise" and "Walk." The EP is the group's first since Gold, released in October. Itzy consists of Lia, Yeji, Ryujin, Chaeryeong and Yuna. The group made its debut in 2019.
