The Riyadh Film Music Festival is returning to Saudi Arabia's capital next week for a second edition, offering a unique cinematic and musical experience.
Building on the huge success of the first edition, the Riyadh Film Music Festival 2025 will bring together prominent film composers from across the world to deliver live performances of iconic films' compositions, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
Organized by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC), the captivating event will take place from July 30 to August 9, 2025 at the Red Hall Theater of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University.

It will immerse audiences in an exceptional audio-visual experience, blending full screenings of iconic films with live performances by the orchestra. The legendary Maestro Ernst Van Tiel will lead the performances, alongside more than 80 musicians on stage.
The one-of-a-kind event will bring unforgettable cinematic moments to life, through vibrant orchestral music and a spectacular live show. It will take place in conjunction with the Esports World Cup 2025 (EWC 2025) currently running in Riyadh.
Audiences have an unmissable opportunity to enjoy live performances of their favorite films' music. From July 30 to August 2, the Riyadh Film Music Festival 2025 will screen Tom Cruise's 'Top Gun: Maverick.' Moreover, the iconic 'Lion King' will be played from August 1-2, taking audiences back to childhood.
On August 5-6, audiences will enjoy the screening of 'Back to the Future (1985), while on August 7-8, audiences will immerse in a thrilling experience with musical pieces from 'Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl.'
The Riyadh Film Music Festival 2025 is one of the key initiatives under the Lifestyle Sector of the RCRC, underscoring its commitment to promoting arts and cultural activity in Riyadh.

RIYADH: Arabic calligraphy is among the highlights of the Summer of Zallal events, held every Thursday and Friday in the Al-Bujairi District of the Diriyah governorate. Running through Aug. 30, the event offers interactive and creative experiences for visitors of all ages, according to a Saudi Press Agency report. The Arabic calligraphy workshops have become a popular attraction, offering visitors a unique opportunity to have their names written in a variety of traditional styles. Saudi calligrapher Ayman Al-Khadhra said that he inscribed visitors' names using various artistic styles of Arabic calligraphy, including Thuluth, Jeli Thuluth, and Diwani, as well as historic scripts such as Kufic. He noted that the enthusiastic engagement from attendees reflects a growing interest in preserving traditional arts, the SPA reported. The Zallal project stands as one of Diriyah's most prominent modern developments, covering a total area of more than 53,000 square meters. It features seven contemporary buildings housing upscale restaurants, cafes, and dedicated venues for cultural events and live performances.
