Inside Graham Norton and Scots husband Jono McLeod's impressive property portfolio

Daily Record17-05-2025

Graham Norton boasts an expansive property portfolio with the Irish chat show host recently putting two of his remarkable New York and East London homes up for sale on the market. The 62-year-old Eurovision host, who is married to Scots BAFTA winning filmmaker Jono Mcleod, is said to finally be 'feeling brave enough for a huge change'.
Graham tied the knot last year with Jonathan, whose most famous work was the 2022 documentary My Old School starring Alan Cumming, which depicts the story of the Scottish school pupil imposter, Brian Mackinnon, who posed as a 17-year-old boy named Brandon Lee at Bearsden Academy in 1993.
The Dublin born comedian and presenter is now selling his beloved pad after 20 years of living in the stunning £5M grade-II listed Georgian house.
Graham and Jono's lavish four-storey home sits on the banks of the River Thames in east London. The property boasts two reception rooms and views of the river as well as a riverside garden.
The abode also has double-height ceilings, five bathrooms and an internal patio courtyard garden.
According to The Sunday Times, Norton said: "We've been thinking about it for a couple of years and I finally feel brave enough to make a huge change to my life.
"My favourite times have definitely been enjoying a drink sitting by the river on a summer's evening."
Fans are now speculating whether Norton may be considering a move to Scotland, where his husband is originally from, having attended Bearsden Academy himself in the mid 1990s.
Meanwhile his Manhattan Carriage House in the US has also been listed for $5.595M.
Located at the address of 6 Sniffen Court in Murray Hill, the ivy covered property was once home to supermodel Claudia Schiffer.
Norton has owned the property for over two decades now and recently completed an extensive refurbishment on the home, having previously considered settling down in New York before he married his husband Jono.
The three-storey carriage abode features two bedrooms and two bathrooms as well as a rooftop deck measuring a spacious 465 square feet.
Norton says he felt an instant attraction to Sniffen Court despite now making the decision to sell it. He previously said: "I couldn't stop thinking about it. I finally caved in and flew over to see it."
He added: "Once you step into Sniffen Court there is no sense that you are in the heart of Manhattan!"
The street has historically attracted other A-list celebrities including legendary composer Cole Porter and rock superstar Lenny Kravitz.
It's not the first time Graham has said goodbye to one of his plush homes, having previously sold his six-bedroom seaside pad in 2018 for £2.3M.
The stunning mansion in Cooden, Bexhill, had a gorgeous private beach and master bedroom balcony which overlooked spectacular views of the English Channel.
According to property records, Graham bought the property for £1.3million in November 2009.
Graham's property portfolio does not end there as he also owns the beautiful 4000sqft Ahakista House in his home country of Ireland.
The house, which the TV host bought in 2003, is located just an hour away from Bandon, a town in Cork, where Norton grew up.

Graham has previously ventured even further afield with holiday homes, having previously owned a property in Oranjezicht at the foot of Table Mountain in Cape Town.
He previously gushed over the abode, saying: "The people couldn't be nicer, the weather more beautiful, the setting round the slopes of Table Mountain more spectacular."
Norton sold his much-loved South African home in just four days back in 2009, which was on the market for £500,000, after he was too busy to make good use of it.

The venue, which will span a 200,000 sq ft site in the Edinburgh Park area, is due to open in March 2028, reports The Herald. And tickets for the first show are expected to go on sale by 2027 according to the £80million project's timeline. It will form part of the Capital's new "urban quarter" being developed in the Edinburgh Park region on the outskirts of the city. The firm has earmarked an area north of the Edinburgh Park tram stop and train station. Branded the Edinburgh Park Arena for the moment, event bosses are hoping to rename the building when a headline corporate sponsor is agreed. It has been predicted to bring in more than £520million for the city's economy year on year. AEG says they have had 'strong interest' in the naming rights for the arena, which is set to become 'one of the UK's most iconic venues" attracting huge names to Edinburgh. The project was approved by Edinburgh city council last year, is expected to attract around 700,000 visitors a year, and create 1300 new jobs once open. Until now, the largest indoor venues in the capital included the 3000-capacity Corn Exchange, while the Usher Hall can fit around 2900 if seats are removed. Travis frontman Fran Healy reveals how festival favourite was almost 'never written' The Royal Highland Centre can also accommodate around 9000 in their largest space, the Highland Hall. Alistair Wood, executive vice-president of real estate and development at AEG Europe, said: 'Securing planning permission last year allowed us to move ahead with our plans, from progressing design work to entering discussions with contractors and sub-contractors. 'We have funding in place, and now we're in the procurement phase. Once we have a final design, suppliers and contractors we'll break ground. We hope to begin construction early in 2026. 'We're excited to start the build process as soon as possible so that we can bring world-class acts to Edinburgh. "We're hoping that the new arena will open its doors during the first quarter of 2028, with fans able to purchase tickets to the first shows during 2027."

Stephen Graham had emergency operation on a plane to the US

Stephen Graham may be known for his intense on-screen performances, but his recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers showcased a very different side of the acclaimed British actor. A story the Adolescence star, 51, told on the show has gone viral online for good reason: It involves mid-air panic, unexpected medical heroics, and the actor 'dropping his kecks.' Prompted by Meyers' question about a particularly eventful journey to the United States, the A Thousand Blows star chuckled and admitted it had been 'a hell of an experience.' 'I'm of a certain age now,' Graham began. 'You know, once you hit 45, the trips to the loo start to rack up.' That complaint led the actor to seek a medical solution months prior – a non-invasive procedure designed to reduce frequent urination by slightly enlarging the prostate, often aided by a catheter. For a while, everything had been fine. That is, until Graham found himself at 10,000 feet and suddenly unable to urinate. 'It just didn't feel right,' he recalled. He returned to his seat and downed more water, hoping it would work itself out. But the next time he visited the toilet, things took a frightening turn. 'Long story short, I went, but it was just pure blood,' he said. 'It was very scary. I couldn't stop this trajectory of blood and I'm having a slight panic attack. I'm about to cry and I'm having a moment,' Graham added. Earlier that day, Graham had posed for a selfie at the gate with a fan, who, as luck would have it, was a doctor. Even better? The doctor's travel companion was a surgeon. Once the severity of Graham's situation became clear, the cabin crew sprang into action. 'Next minute, the doctor comes around the corner and goes, 'Stephen!' and I'm like, 'Doc! Hello!'' What happened next could rival the drama of any Graham-led series. The space between economy and first class was hastily converted into an operating bay. Curtains were drawn, medical kits opened, and the lounge area sterilized. More Trending 'I dropped me kecks, got on the couch, and they performed a catheter procedure right there,' Graham said. The cause? A blood clot that had lodged behind his urethra. But once it was removed, Graham described the relief in the most Graham way possible: 'It was one of the nicest experiences with me and my penis,' he quipped, grinning. 'I came running out like a kid who'd just learned to use the toilet.' He also made sure to commemorate the surreal incident: 'We took a photo at the end, me, the doctors, and the flight crew. Wonderful people.' What could have been a nightmare turned into a memorable, oddly uplifting tale of mid-air humanity – and one more reason fans continue to love Stephen Graham. Got a story? Darragh Ennis' life away from The Chase with childhood sweetheart and second job

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info The Chase star Darragh Ennis, who is best known for his role as The Menace had originally been a contestant on the show back in 2016 before ITV producers invited him back to become a Chaser instead. Despite being the newest member of Bradley Walsh's Chaser army, Darragh is by no means a fresh face on the show, having made his formal debut back in 2020. Since then, he's made numerous appearances on the popular quiz programme and its spin-off show Beat The Chasers alongside co-stars Paul Sinha, Anne Hegerty, Mark Labbett, Jenny Ryan and Shaun Wallace, with very few proving to ever be triumphant against him. While the Irishman tends to keep closed lid on private affairs away from the series, he has in the past let slip on the show about personal matters, including his past job, co-star connection and childhood sweetheart wife. Darrah's TV debut Back in 2016, the Irish star appeared on the ITV programme as a player sporting long curly locks. He quickly impressed host Bradley Walsh and Chaser Paul Sinha, who hailed him as "very, very good" after he'd achieved £9,000 in the cash builder round. His exceptional performance later saw him invited back for a screen test in which he bagged the role of the newest Chaser, The Menace. In a past interview, he attributed his cool on-camera style for his success. Speaking to the Liverpool Echo previously, he reflected: "I did well on the quiz, but a lot of people do. I don't get stage fright. I don't get rattled by cameras or anything and a lot of people do. That can subtract a bit from how well their personality comes across. "So, because I had that advantage, maybe they just saw something and thought 'this fella is very relaxed on camera', which is a big part of the job. It's not just about knowing stuff. It's about being calm enough in the moment to recall everything quickly so I think just a combination of those things." Family life (Image: ITV) The TV star previously revealed that he studied at Maynooth University and that this is how he and his wife were first acquainted. Giving a brief glimpse into how they met, he told RSVP Live: "We did our degrees and PhDs there [Maynooth University]. We were in labs down the hall from each other and she's from Kildare." Darragh insists on keeping his private affairs out the spotlight, on the matter of privacy after being trolled online himself, the father-of-two told The Irish Mirror: "I have been keeping my family out of the limelight so my wife doesn't get involved, she doesn't want to. "And my children, I don't share photos of my children or anything like that. No one knows what my children look like or their names or anything like that." His Instagram profile instead is awash with pictures of bird feeders and the bee hives that are native to his Oxford home. Second job (Image: ITV) Darrah opted to maintain in his profession as a neuroscientist and entomologist alongside his commitments on The Chase. Opening up on his career, during his TV debut as a contestant back in 2016, he told Bradley Walsh: "I work in brain development and how insect brains grow and develop." Stunned, Brad asked: "How insect brains grow and develop?" As Darragh quipped: "Well we can't use people's brains so..." On a more recent episode, Darragh even revealed to the host that he would be "back in the lab on Monday," confirming that he was still in the industry despite his fame. Darragh's link to Paul Sinha before TV fame As a contestant on The Chase, Darragh also spilled that he and Paul Sinha shared a common connection before they were co-stars on the ITV show. When asked by host Bradley who he'd like to come up against, the Irishman firmly stated: "I'd like to play Paul because apparently he used to play in the quiz league that I used to play in." "You play in a quiz league?" gasped Brad as Darragh confirmed: "Yes a pub quiz," as Paul stepped out from behind the famous red doors to go head-to-head. The Chase airs weekdays on ITV1 at 5pm.
