Ncuti Gatwa shares emotional post after leaving Doctor Who

Gatwa's 15th Doctor regenerated in Saturday's finale (May 31), and regenerated into the returning Billie Piper.
In a statement provided by the BBC, the Scottish-Rwandan actor said the "journey has been one that I will never forget".
Now, he has shared a social media post thanking co-stars Millie Gibson and Varada Sethu.

Gibson played Ruby Sunday and was the main companion in Gatwa's first series as the 15th Doctor.
Her character appeared less frequently in the second series, with Varada Sethu's Belinda Chandra taking the mantle as the new companion.
Taking to Instagram, Gatwa shared a picture of the trio, and said: "Three queens of the sky,
"Twas an experience like no other and thank God we were by eachothers side.
"There aren't quite the words for how much you both mean to me but I am so grateful I got the opportunity to work, learn from and laugh with you both everyday.
"You're both just simply incredible and it has been nothing short of a blessing to share this journey with both of you.
A post shared by Ncuti Gatwa (@ncutigatwa)
"Ruby Sunday and Belinda Chandra will live in mine and the Whoniverse hearts forever.
"Also shout out to the CAPTAIN of all 15's companions. Captain Poppy. Ultimate top dog of this season! (lil Sienna brought so much life and magic to us all on set ) I love you guys. We did it."
It was the first of two Instagram posts Gatwa has shared since his exit.
The second was a picture of himself in the TARDIS, with the caption: "Monsters, goblins, gods, human-eating Slugs, invisible brain-altering creatures, evil barbers, conspiracy theorists… you've had quite a busy two years. Well done and rest up son.
"@bbcdoctorwho @disneydoctorwho @russelltdavies63 @bad_wolf_tv Thank you endlessly. XV."
In a statement released by the BBC, on his decision to leave, Gatwa said:'You know when you get cast, at some point you are going to have to hand back that sonic screwdriver and it is all going to come to an end, but nothing quite prepares you for it.
'This journey has been one that I will never forget, and a role that will be part of me forever.
"There are no words to describe what it feels like to be cast as the Doctor, nor are there words to explain what it feels like to be accepted into this iconic role that has existed for over 60 years and is truly loved by so many across the globe.
'I've loved every minute of it, but now is the time to hand over the keys to that beloved blue box and let someone else take control and enjoy it every bit as much as I have.
"I'll truly miss it, and forever be grateful to it, and everyone that has played a part in my journey as the Doctor.'
After Gatwa's exit, the 15th Doctor is seen regenerating into Billie Piper.
Piper, 42, first appeared in the series as the companion to the Ninth Doctor in 2005, playing Rose Tyler alongside Christopher Eccleston's Time Lord.
She stayed on and was the companion to the 10th Doctor, played by David Tennant.
However, despite her introduction on the show, it has not been confirmed she is the 16th Doctor.
Some fans are also not convinced, with the end credits reading: "And introducing Billie Piper."
Many compared this to when Ncuti Gatwa was introduced as the 15th Doctor, when it read: "And introducing Ncuti Gatwa as The Doctor."
Previous actors have also received similar credit introductions.

One said on X (formerly Twitter): "Billie Piper wasn't introduced as the Doctor, and this year was the 20th anniversary of Series 1... There's definitely more to this..."
Another said: "She's clearly not the Doctor but some Bad Wolf shenanigans."
Fueling speculation on her role in the show, Doctor Who TV simply says: "But just how and why she is back remains to be seen…"

On her return, Piper said: 'It's no secret how much I love this show, and I have always said I would love to return to the Whoniverse as I have some of my best memories there, so to be given the opportunity to step back on that Tardis one more time was just something I couldn't refuse, but who, how, why and when, you'll just have to wait and see.'
Shortly after the finale aired, the actress shared a post on Instagram holding a rose with the caption that read: 'A rose is a rose is a rose !!!'
If she is confirmed as The Doctor, Piper will be the second after Jody Whittaker's 13th Doctor.

Amanda Holden gives reminder about stunning Cornwall property

The star's parents are selling their stunning family home which is in 'easy reach' of scenic spots like Bodmin Moor and Dartmoor Amanda Holden has reminded fans that her parents are looking to downsize and their home is now on the market. The TV personality, 54, issued an alert on Instagram just yesterday, drawing attention to the stunning Cornwall property. "Parents are downsizing," she said, sharing a link to the Rightmove advertisement. In a previous post, she also added: "[They are] selling their beautiful home in Cornwall." ‌ The four-bedroom home is conveniently located within a stone's throw of North Cornwall's coast and scenic spots such as Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor. Sellers describe it as a 'true rural gem', also boasting historic features, beautiful timber floors and fireplaces. ‌ "Tucked away in a tranquil setting with breathtaking countryside and coastal views, this charming Grade II listed detached Cornish cottage, believed to have built around the turn of the 18th century, is a true rural gem," the listing reads, according to the Mirror. "With a distinctive thatched roof and a wealth of historic character features—exposed beams, fireplaces and timber floors." Last month, Amanda also shared a promotional video from Fine and Country Bude of the thatched home on her Instagram account. The clip showcases panoramic shots of the property in Hersham, Bude, while an estate agent delves into its fascinating history. "I have a real treat for you today, I'm looking forward to showing you the video of this beautiful Grade II listed cottage behind me called Hersham Carpentry," they said. "It's where all the hand carts were made in the area back in the day." The detached thatched roof property features four cosy bedrooms, two bathrooms, two reception rooms, and a homely kitchen/breakfast area. ‌ It also includes three annexes that boast a documented history of holiday letting income spanning over 10 years. Two annexes are single-storey, while the third features two floors, and offers a living room, kitchen, and conservatory. Beyond this, future owners can revel in the 'sweeping cottage gardens', which feature serene patio spaces and three panoramic viewpoints offering sea views. Rightmove also notes an especially spacious driveway, with enough room for roughly eight vehicles. ‌ Discussing the advertisement, Amanda's family have reportedly said: "We are sad to leave this lovely home we have lived in for over 22 years. We will miss the early morning bird song and the gorgeous vistas and spectacular sunsets from different viewpoints throughout our gardens. ‌ "We have had many wonderful memories of barbecues in the garden with family and friends. Unfortunately age has caught up with us and begrudgingly we feel the time has come to downsize and be nearer to family. "We will miss our wonderful house and all our neighbours (95% of which are still here). It is so peaceful and quiet and very private and although in a country lane only five mins car ride away from amenities and the wonderful sandy beaches." This storybook-like abode offers a haven of tranquillity yet remains conveniently located just under two miles from the historical village of Statton, providing easy access to local amenities like a medical centre, charming public houses, post office, and a store open every day of the week. The coastal town of Bude is also only a short distance away. Here, visitors can enjoy a wealth of charming cliff walks and sandy beaches. The property is currently listed at £895,000 on Rightmove. Meghan to ‘pause' restocking her jam and herbal teas until completely ready

Meghan told of the difficulties of building her firm and 'how many tears' she has shed behind the scenes, on a bonus episode of her podcast featuring Beyonce's mother Tina Knowles. She also expressed her dream of launching a future business with daughter Princess Lilibet, after talking to Knowles about the Cecred haircare line she started with Beyonce. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex with Beyonce and Jay-Z at the European Premiere of Disney's The Lion King in 2019 (Niklas Halle'n/PA) 'I wonder if one day I'll be in business with Lily and we'll be building something,' the duchess said, with Knowles adding: 'That's the best.' The duchess said of the April launch of her As Ever products including jam and herbal tea that the 'scarcity mentality at the beginning might be a hook for people', comparing it to 'a sneaker drop'. But she feared it might be 'annoying' for customers, adding: 'I don't want you to eat that jam once every six months. I want that to be on your shelf all the time.' Meghan said: 'So for me at the moment, with As Ever, it was great. We planned for a year we get and then everything sells out in 45 minutes. 'Yes, amazing, great news. Then what do you do? And then you say 'Ok, we planned as best as we could. Are we going to replenish and sell out again in an hour? Or is that annoying as a customer? 'I'm looking at it saying 'Just pause. That happened. Let's wait until we are completely stable and we have everything we need'.' She added how people 'see all the flashy stuff and they see the product. But that end game… those behind the scenes moments, how many tears I've shed'. Beyonce takes the applause with her mother Tina Knowles following their House of Dereon Catwalk Show at Selfridges in 2011 (Gareth Fuller/PA) Knowles chatted to Meghan about how pop superstar Beyonce could have been a hairdresser after growing up watching her mother work in a salon. The pair discussed the singer using wigs on stage, with Meghan revealing she was advised by other actresses to start wearing them while working on Suits but she chose not to do so. Knowles said: 'She's on a stage with hot lights and she wears wigs a lot, and she's managed to keep her hair beautiful and healthy and that's not an easy task when you're in showbiz.' Beyonce and Meghan hug at the Lion King premiere (Niklas Halle'n/PA Meghan replied: 'That is a testament. I mean, even on Suits, I was on Suits for seven years, and I remember so many other actresses, especially if you're in that grind, they said 'You are going to fry your hair', and everyone was recommending that I should start wearing wigs. 'I never ended up doing it. By the way, if I was in that industry longer, I understand why you need to protect your hair in that way.' The pair also discussed mutual friend Hollywood mogul Tyler Perry, who gave the Sussexes use of his LA home as a base when they first moved to the US in 2020, with Knowles saying: 'Tyler talks about you all… He loves you.' Meghan described him as 'the most extraordinary soundboard'. The duchess said she 'loved seeing Yvette there' – seemingly referring to Beyonce's publicist Yvette Noel-Schure – and said: 'I wrote her a letter after I went to B's concert a couple of years ago. She said the kindest things and I just wanted her to know how much it meant to me.' The podcast was recorded before Harry and Meghan had a night out at Beyonce's Cowboy Carter tour, with Knowles describing how the star was 'on fire' and telling Meghan 'Y'all gotta come'. Meghan, who said she had been trying to decide which date to attend, replied: 'Oh my gosh. I can't wait.' Last month, the duchess shared pictures of herself and Harry at one of the shows in LA, writing on Instagram: 'About last night… Thank you @beyonce and team for an amazing concert (and a very fun date night)! All love.' Meghan first publicly met Beyonce and her husband Jay-Z in London at the premiere of Disney's 2019 remake of The Lion King, which featured the singer's music and her voice as the character Nala. In the Sussexes' Netflix documentary, Meghan was shown reading a message from Beyonce which praised the duchess's 'bravery and vulnerability' and told her she 'was selected to break generational curses that need to be healed'.

EastEnders star Clair Norris breaks silence on shock exit

Clair Norris, who plays Bernie Taylor, joined fellow castmates at the British Soap Awards to see EastEnders scoop an impressive eight gongs. The 27-year-old addressed her exit for the first time in a post from the night on Instagram. Alongside a glamourous picture, Clair wrote: "My last @thebritishsoapawards with my EE family. We [broom emoji] up last night, 8 awards & I couldn't be prouder to be a part of this team! What a way to end this amazing journey, head held high & beaming from ear to ear." Fans and fellow soap stars were quick to comment their support for Clair under the post. James Farrar, who plays Zack Hudson, wrote: "Head held HIGH' while Emma Barton, who plays Honey Mitchell, simply put: 'Love you'. Clair's character, Bernie, first arrived on the soap in 2017 with her mum Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) and brother Keanu Taylor (Danny Walters). However, she's the last one of her family members left on the Square with her mum leaving EastEnders in 2023, shortly followed by the murder of her brother Keanu on Christmas Day. What happens to Bernie in EastEnders? Bernie will exit later this year as part of a 'dramatic' storyline, according to The Sun. While the full storyline is yet to be revealed, the exit reportedly didn't come as a surprise to Clair. "She was the last Taylor standing and it's time to close the chapter on them and let Clair go on to do other things,' The Sun wrote. However, fans were less than impressed at the revelation. EastEnders fans hope Bernie isn't 'killed off' One fan posted on X, formerly Twitter: 'I'm absolutely gutted the lovely Clair Norris has been axed from EastEnders. I really liked her recent 'bad Bernie' phase. (Please don't kill her off).' While another said: 'Congrats to you Clair and all at Eastenders. You've been amazing as Bernie, good luck for the rest of your career.' 'Bernie's acting has been great,' another user added. EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
