Beéle Arrives on Billboard's Albums Charts With Debut Set ‘BORONDO'
BORONDO, a 26-track album, was released May 15 on Hear This Music/5020 Records. The set starts at No. 10 on Top Latin Albums with 11,000 equivalent album units earned in the United States in the tracking week ending May 22, according to Luminate.

During the tracking week of May 16-22, BORONDO's debut was driven primarily by streaming activity, with the album's songs generating 17 million official on-demand streams. Meanwhile, the remainder of the total-week sum came from a minimal contribution of album sales and track-equivalent units. (Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album.)
Further, BORONDO's entrance marks a breakthrough for Puerto Rican indie label Hear This Music—founded by DJ Luian and Mambo Kingz— achieving its first performance and top 10 on any Billboard albums tally since its formation in 2015 (the imprint has earned 20 entries on the Hot Latin Songs chart, including three top 10s).
The set was previewed by one charting song: 'Mi Refe,' with Ovy on The Drums, peaked at No. 8 on Latin Rhythm Airplay in April.
Prince Royce, Mora & Sebastian Yatra Achieve Top 10 Success: Elsewhere on the Latin albums charts, three other Latin artists leave a mark this week, starting with Prince Royce, whose album Eterno debuts at No. 3 on the Top Tropical Albums chart, his eighth straight top 10 since the 54-week ruler album Prince Royce in 2010.
Eterno, a collection of 20th century English hits turned-bilingual bachatas, becomes the Hot Shot debut of the week on Top Tropical Albums with 3,000 equivalent album units earned during the tracking week ending May 22. The album's songs generated 1.9 million official on-demand streams in its first week.
'How Deep Is Your Love' is the only song that previewed the album; it hits new peaks on the overall Latin Airplay (No. 5) and Tropical Airplay (No. 4) charts after a 35% boost in audience impressions, to 7 million.
Puerto Rican Mora secures his fifth top 10 on the Top Latin Rhythm Albums chart with Lo Mismo De Siempre, as the album bows at No. 9 with 7,000 equivalent album units, also largely from streaming activity (9.8 million official on-demand streams in its opening week).
The Rimas-released set, dropped on an off-cycle Sunday, May 18, thus, debuts on the chart with only five days of activity (the chart's tracking week runs Friday through Thursday).
Lastly, Sebastian Yatra's Milagro starts at No. 9 on Top Latin Pop Albums with 2,000 equivalent album units. The 17-track album, released May 18 on Universal Music Latino/UMLE, generated 2.3 million official streams during the same period. It becomes Yatra's fourth top 10 on the tally.

10 Best Fake Songs From Fake Movie Bands
This summer has seen some pretty catchy needle drops in movies, from Superman's Mighty Crabjoys to KPop Demon Hunters flash mob fandoms for Huntr/x and the Saja Boys. The latter Netflix release has reached not only Billboard music charts but also become the most streamed animated feature ever. With that in mind, we look back at our favorite fake bands' best songs of the past 30 years. While half the list includes incredible recent music from hit movies, the other half (and our number one slot) nod at the songs that really propelled this particular niche in movies—think A Goofy Movie. So, if you notice some of your favorites missing, simmer down because we excluded musicals and kept to genre movies that had original songs featured in them. Like Superman, we can't help but think this song is for the cool kids. No matter how hard we tried, we could not get 'Try Everything' out of our heads, and Gazelle (voiced by Shakira) might be back in Zootopia 2. Finally, the full single from Freaky Friday has been released for Freakier Friday sung by Pink Slip's in-universe lead singer Christina Vidal Mitchell. Josie and the Pussycats was such an underrated gem when it came out but was formative for millennials. We know there are so many songs, and it was hard to narrow it to one, so we went with 'Three Small Words' (featuring Kay Hanley as the voice of lead singer Josie), which encompasses the moment in time this movie embodies for a generation. Sammie (Miles Caton) in the Sinners universe went on to become a blues legend, but the night that changed his life was when he first performed 'I Lied to You.' The scene is hands down one of Ryan Coogler's masterpieces, and the music sizzles off the celluloid fever dream… just watch. It took a few years, but the Envy Adams (Brie Larson) on-screen performance of the Clash at Demonhead's 'Black Sheep' was finally released on Spotify and other platforms to enjoy. We love Metric's version, but the angst in the movie version is top tier. The Billie Eilish and Finneas-produced songs from Pixar's Turning Red are all so good. This one was also hard to narrow down, but the chorus of 'Nobody Like U' is never not on my mind. The KPop Demon Hunters soundtrack also has too many killer songs from each band to pick from. While I particularly love 'Soda Pop,' we have to give the Saja Boys props for 'Your Idol' for charting on Billboard. In 'Golden,' we get lyricist Ejae's heart and soul shining through. The powerful anthem is coming for 'Let It Go''s crown in replayability among young animation fans. Powerline is the blueprint, the O.G. of modern fake music pop stars thanks to A Goofy Movie. Vocalist Tevin Campbell made an icon so scene-stealing we're still waiting for a full Powerline album 30 years later… or at least a sequel with more fake music to dance to. Want more io9 news? More than two decades after it first hit theaters, Happy Gilmore is back, only the second installment in what has now become a franchise isn't on the big screen. Happy Gilmore 2 arrived on Netflix on July 25. The film quickly became a top 10 success on the platform, and the movie is so popular that even a few music syncs have helped a handful of classic rock acts surge on streaming sites. Lynyrd Skynyrd Scores a Streaming Surge Of all the musical acts featured in Happy Gilmore 2, the one that stands out thanks to an impressive streaming boost is Lynyrd Skynyrd. The band's 1973 cut 'Tuesday's Gone' returns in the new film, which some fans of the original may have expected, as it was featured in Happy Gilmore. The rock group's ballad jumped 44% in terms of total on-demand streams in the United States during the movie's opening weekend, according to Billboard. The track soared from 525,000 streams to 756,000 between July 25 and 28, according to numbers shared with the music magazine by Luminate. Lynyrd Skynyrd's Deep Cut Finds a New Audience Though it never charted upon its initial release, 'Tuesday's Gone' has become a fan favorite among those who love Lynyrd Skynyrd. Originally featured on the band's debut album Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd, the song stands apart from the outfit's better-known, uptempo tracks like 'Sweet Home Alabama' and 'What's Your Name?' Though the tune doesn't appear on any Billboard lists this frame, a growth of more than 40% on streaming outlets is impressive for a decades-old cut. Foreigner and Tom Petty Also Gain Ground Lynyrd Skynyrd might be leading the way, but the rockers aren't the only ones benefiting thanks to being included in Happy Gilmore 2. Foreigner's 'Juke Box Hero' enjoyed an 18% bump in streaming during the same window, while Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' 'The Waiting' rose by 15%.
