Rays score three in the 10th to beat Twins
In a 4-all game, Diaz, who had two hits, lined a run-scoring double to right and later scored on a throwing error by Justin Topa (1-3). Junior Caminero's sacrifice fly added an insurance run.
Jonathan Aranda went 3-for-5 with two RBIs, and Caminero drove in a pair. Taylor Walls hit a solo homer.
On his 31st birthday, Brandon Lowe was removed from the game after whiffing in his lone at-bat, ending his team record-tying 20-game hitting streak shared with Diaz. It was reported that Lowe was dealing with left side soreness.
Starter Drew Rasmussen tossed just two frames and allowed one run on three hits with two strikeouts.
Pete Fairbanks (4-2) and Eric Orze (third save) pitched the final 2 2/3 innings as the Rays won for just the third time in nine games.
Minnesota's Byron Buxton (two hits) and Harrison Bader hit home runs. Bader plated a run on a groundout in the bottom of the 10th before Orze shut the Twins down.
Starter Joe Ryan tossed six innings and allowed two runs on six hits. The right-hander struck out eight with a walk.
With both Rasmussen and Ryan entering the game with ERAs under 2.79, pitching took center stage.
However, Buxton slugged his 20th home run a Statcast-projected 414 feet to left center to open the bottom of the first after Ryan struck out the side in the top half.
Not in the original lineup but inserted before the game began, Walls belted his third homer for the visitors' first hit leading off the third to tie it.
Tampa Bay took its first lead in the fourth when Aranda ripped a single to right to plate Jose Caballero, who had replaced Lowe at second base and doubled.
In the sixth, Trevor Larnach (two hits, double) knotted it 2-all when he avoided a tag at home by catcher Matt Thaiss after a two-out fielding error by Caballero.
Caminero's RBI fielder's choice and reliever Griffin Jax's fielding error made it 4-2 Rays in the eighth, but pinch hitter Bader responded with a two-run homer to left off Mason Montgomery to even it 4-4 in the bottom half.

Donald Trump reveals he's KEEPING Club World Cup trophy after gatecrashing Chelsea celebrations as Blues get replica
DONALD TRUMP has revealed that the Oval Office is keeping the Club World Cup trophy. The US President watched on at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Sunday as Chelsea thrashed Paris Saint-Germain 3-0. 3 3 3 But he then gatecrashed the trophy-lifting ceremony as the Blues went to lift the golden trophy, causing confusion among the London team's ranks. Since the final, the trophy has been a feature in the White House. And the 79-year-old has since revealed that he will be keeping it close at hand, with Fifa president Gianni Infantino telling him they were making a SECOND trophy. Speaking to Dazn, he said: "I said, When are you going to pick up the trophy? "[They said] 'We're never going to pick it up. You can have it forever in the Oval Office. We're making a new one.' "And they actually made a new one [for Chelsea]. So that was quite exciting, but right now [the original] is in the Oval.' Whether the two trophies are exactly identical is currently unclear. Infantino first revealed the trophy, which stands at approximately 17 inches tall and weighs almost 5kg, back in March in the Oval Office. Trump also joked after the game that he may sign an executive order to change the name of the sport, known as soccer in America, to football. This comes ahead of the World Cup proper next year.

Tim Tszyu makes a stunning statement about his legendary dad Kostya just before title fight that will make or break his career
Tim Tszyu has lit the fuse for an explosive world title rematch with 'dumb arse' Sebastian Fundora and revealed a burning desire to surpass his legendary father's career accomplishments. Tszyu can join his Hall of Famer dad Kostya, a former unified super-lightweight champion, as a multiple world title winner with victory over Fundora in their WBC super-welterweight stoush in Las Vegas on Saturday (Sunday AEST). Success would elevate the Tszyus to arguably the greatest father-son duo in boxing history. Julio Cesar Chevas Sr and Jr are the only biological father-son pair ever to have both claimed multiple world titles. The 30-year-old Tszyu is well aware of what is at stake at the MGM Grand in boxing's spiritual mecca. 'One of my desires is to just overtake my dad,' Tszyu told AAP after a training session in Vegas on Tuesday. 'Not in a disrespectful way but in a way that, if I'm able to do that, we can create the greatest Tszyu legacy, the greatest fighting family that's ever lived - and that's my goal. 'Two-time world champion's got a good ring to it, doesn't it? Timmy two-time sounds alright to me and that's what I intend to do. 'But the goal is always to move on. Two times sounds good, but then we move on to the next. 'The grind and the continuation and the pursuit of greatness never stops.' Tszyu held the WBO strap before relinquishing it in a bloodied loss to Fundora in Sin City in March of 2024. The American sportingly offered the Sydney slayer a rematch and the chance to capture the WBC belt after Fundora won a split decision last time around. Tszyu won the opening two rounds before walking into the so-called Towering Inferno's elbow and opening up a savage gash on the top of his head. Despite fighting for 10 more rounds half blinded by the tsunami of blood, Tszyu was awarded the fight by one of the three judges. But Fundora last week claimed Tszyu was not affected at all. 'It doesn't piss me off. If 100 people got the same question, I guarantee you 99 per cent of people will say that it affected me,' Tszyu said. 'A dumb arse accusation.' Tszyu, though, does have a plan in place to hopefully avoid a repeat of the incident that derailed his hopes of unifying the division last time against 197cm tall Fundora. 'It's a bit hard,' the Australian said. 'It's not the elbow. It's when you work out orthodox and southpaw, our legs always clash. 'So someone's legs are going to clash and that's what it was. My legs clashed onto him, I fell over from that and I walked into his his elbow. 'I'll stay away but it's just about positioning and throwing punches not from certain positions.'
