Leverkusen weather hailstorm to thrash 10-man Grossaspach 4-0 in German Cup
The 2024 German Cup winners had to wait for 45 minutes when play was stopped early in the first half after heavy rain, wind and a brief hailstorm.
But Leverkusen coach Erik ten Haag's competitive debut saw his team live up to their heavy favourites tag by easing past their opponents.
Patrik Schick opened his account after 32 minutes.
The hosts were then left with 10 men when Volklan Celiktas was sent off for a second booking in the 66th.
Arthur made it 2-0 after 74 minutes before Christian Kofane added another in the 84th for the visitors and a penalty from Alejandro Grimaldo three minutes from time sealed the rout.

Brighton fan dies after falling ill at Fulham game
A Brighton fan has died after becoming unwell during the second half of the club's opening Premier League game of the season against Fulham. The club said a 72-year-old man passed away despite the best efforts of emergency services, club staff and the medical team on chief executive Paul Barber said: "This was an incredibly sad end to the match this afternoon, and our deepest sympathies and condolences go out to the family and friends of the gentleman who lost his life."While the gentleman concerned is foremost in our minds, we are also aware that it was an emotional and distressing situation for staff and supporters in the direct vicinity."Over the coming days we will ensure those affected are properly supported."The match, which ended 1-1, was not stopped as Brighton's safety team, Sussex Police and the Premier League felt that may have impacted on resuscitation attempts and created possible further complications had the patient responded and required rapid transportation to hospital.

Kusini Yengi has endured a tough introduction to Scottish football. More stumbling start than hitting the ground in a dominant Aberdeen performance that dispatched Greenock Morton to reach the last eight of the Premier Sports Cup, the Australia striker looked like he might just be starting to find his first goal for the club earned the Dons a maiden victory of the season.
