Soccer-Leverkusen weather hailstorm to thrash 10-man Grossaspach 4-0 in German Cup

GROSSASPACH, Germany (Reuters) -Bayer Leverkusen weathered a first-half hailstorm to beat 10-man fourth-tier side SG Sonnenhof Grossaspach 4-0 in the German Cup first round on Friday. The 2024 German Cup winners had to wait for 45 minutes when play was stopped early in the first half after heavy rain, wind and a brief hailstorm. But Leverkusen coach Erik ten Haag's competitive debut saw his team live up to their heavy favourites tag by easing past their opponents. Patrik Schick opened his account after 32 minutes. The hosts were then left with 10 men when Volklan Celiktas was sent off for a second booking in the 66th. Arthur made it 2-0 after 74 minutes before Christian Kofane added another in the 84th for the visitors and a penalty from Alejandro Grimaldo three minutes from time sealed the rout. Get 70/1 on Man United to beat Spurs with Paddy Power

Paddy Power is offering new customers odds huge enhanced offer when backing Man United to win the Europa League final using promo code YFBDCJ New Paddy Power customers can jump in on the Europa League action and back Manchester United to run out as winners and secure Champions League football for next season. Safe to say, it has far from been the ideal scenario for Ruben Amorim since taking over from Erik ten Haag as the coach finds his United side two places above the relegation zone and yet to hit the magical 40-point mark making it their worst league campaign since 1977/78 season. They do, however, have the chance to still join the likes of Liverpool and Arsenal in Europe's top club competition with a win in Bilbao against Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final. Despite having the joint-worst win record in the league (other than those relegated) in the Premier League - tied with Everton and West Ham - the Red Devils can still return to the Champions League stage and Paddy Power is offering 70/1 odds on that to happen! Simply head over to the Paddy Power sign-up page to register and use promo code YFBDCJ before making a £5 deposit to the account.
