Fort Belvedere explained: Inside the Windsor Great Park home linked to Prince William and Kate Middleton
Credit: David Goddard / Getty Images Rumors say the Prince and Princess of Wales could move again. This time the chatter points to Fort Belvedere. It sits inside Windsor Great Park, not far from their current base at Adelaide Cottage. There is no official confirmation yet. Reports stress that the talk is unconfirmed. So what is Fort Belvedere? It began life in the 1750s as a hilltop lookout/folly designed by Henry Flitcroft at the southern edge of the park. In the 1820s it was rebuilt as a country house by Sir Jeffry Wyatville (who also oversaw the redesign of Windsor Castle under George IV). The mix explains why the place looks like a small fortress on the outside and a family home within. The site has long views across the estate - hence the name Belvedere, 'beautiful view.' The grounds run to about 59 acres, with gardens, water features, a pool and a tennis court. Queen Victoria used to ride out for tea here. Later the house opened to visitors for a time in the 19th century. It returned to private use in the 20th century. The best-known resident was Edward VIII. He moved in while Prince of Wales, and he kept it after he became king. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like NRIs Living In Ukraine Are Eligible For INR 2 Lakh Monthly Pension. Invest 18K/Month Get Offer Undo The house became the stage for a defining royal moment. On 10 December 1936, he signed his abdication papers at Fort Belvedere. The decision cleared the way for his brother to become George VI and changed the line of succession. Edward also treated the place like a true home. He added a swimming pool and other upgrades in the 1930s. Contemporary reports admired the gardens and the layout. They read like a tour of a private retreat rather than a state site. After the abdication the fort fell quiet. It later passed to new tenants on long leases from the Crown Estate. In the early 1980s the lease went to the Weston family, who still hold it today. The freehold remains with the Crown Estate, so the property is private and not open to visitors. Why would the Wales family want it now? Space and privacy are the obvious draws. The plot is large. There are outbuildings that could house security and staff. The location keeps the family close to schools in the area and to Windsor Castle. It also sits inside a controlled park, which helps with movement and protection. Any move would also require an arrangement with the current leaseholders. There is also the emotional layer. The house carries heavy royal history. Some will see that as a reason to stay away. Others will see it as a link to the past that can be given a new chapter. Either way, it would be a move into a building that has already shaped the story of the monarchy. What happens next is simple. The talk may fade, or a move may take shape. Until there is a formal statement, treat it as a possibility, not a plan. Fort Belvedere will remain a curiosity for many - a rare mix of folly, family house, and royal landmark, tucked behind the trees of Windsor Great Park.

Travis Kelce Comes Out Clean on His Parents' ‘Faded' Marriage Ahead of His Rumored Nuptial With Taylor Swift
Travis Kelce opens up about parents divorce: Image via X Travis Kelce has had a lot in his life, but he doesn't trade truth for anything. The 35-year-old actor-athlete had an affluent childhood in terms of getting all of his needs met but he didn't really see a love story growing in their home. He knew about romance, reading novels, and watching romcom movies in his adolescence. It's not just Travis; many kids out there could relate to the Chiefs TE who doesn't ever see his parents holding hands softly or sharing a warm hug after a hectic work day. Yes, it might seem a very pseudo grief, but ask those kids who lived a cold, faded marriage! Travis Kelce shares the most underrated pain of his childhood No, Travis doesn't blame his parents, Donna and Ed, at all. When he was a student athlete at the University of Cincinnati, his parents gave up on their rotten marriage and filed a divorce after 28 years of togetherness. They separated gently. No bad blood at all! In a candid interview for the GQ cover story, the multi-time Super Bowl winner recalled, 'There was no division in terms of anger at each other. I think the romance of it all might've just kind of faded, being so focused on their careers and raising a family. It's probably hard for parents to keep that romance, especially when you've got kids that are into fucking everything, you know?' Travis put the truth out flat, straight, without any slight touch of huff. But come on, the unsaid trauma was written all over his face and voice, and it's not rocket science to decipher. 'I never saw the romance of it all. A lot of friends I grew up with shared that. The handful of my friends whose parents are still together and still thriving,' the 6 ft 5 star admitted, 'those are situations I would love to have.' Little Travis still held onto the silent pain of discovering the real state of his parents' marriage on one of their wedding anniversaries. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 22 Illustrations of a Husband and Wife in Everyday Life Watch More Undo He was curious to know what special they were going to do, unless and until the naive heart was forced to accept that it was just ''another day of knocking out things for the kids' for his parents. Speaking of love and marriage, Travis is now deeply, madly in love with his fiancée, Taylor Swift and faces the world as one of the most sensational couples on the internet. They are rumored to tie the knot pretty soon , and it's crucial to fix his views regarding marriage and family before that. Travis Kelce wants to break the pattern in his family Sure, Travis didn't see his parents writing love notes for each other or sharing quality time together. But he won't let his kids undergo the same experience. He will break the cycle and form a union that is far beyond the daily chores and the shared kids' management task. He has dated the Grammy-winning singer for a couple of years now, and not for a single day, the netizens find them dull on the screen. Be it Taylor rooting for his boy in the Chiefs' game or Travis fanboying in the front row of a global musical tour of his girl, the duo never fails to give the fans a serious couple goal. Yes, it's too early to predict their future as husband and wife. But as Travis says, he already pictures an ideal parenthood for them. How is it? Well, 'if we're gonna start this and do it, why not try and do it to last forever? Not just in a 'It's just for the kids' aspect,' the NFL superstar splashed out his dream. Taylor already shares a solid bond with Donna, which was quite visible during the NFL core season when the family came, sat together with the camera free, catching their genuine laughter, shared concern, and everything in between. Hopefully, the man with the highest post season receptions records can transcend the pain and memory of a cold marriage without holding any grudge against his parents and start a wonderful family together with Taylor Swift by his side. 'Gadar 2' director opens up on the biggest challenge of Sunny Deol starrer: ‘Spent a lot of time…'
'Gadar 2', a period action drama directed by Anil Sharma and starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel , celebrated its second anniversary of release on Monday. The director revealed what he believes to be the best aspect of the sequel. In an interview with IANS, Anil said, 'One of the best parts was seeing Utkarsh (Sharma), who played the child in 'Gadar 1,' return as an adult in 'Gadar 2.' I think this might be the first time in the world where the child actor grew up and reprised the same role." He revealed that the most challenging part of making the film was finding a way to move the story forward from 'Gadar 1.' He added that a lot of time was spent thinking about it, but once the story finally came together, it was worth the wait. The director was questioned about whether his expectations for the sequel were raised by Gadar's success. In response, Anil said that 'Gadar' had become rooted in the hearts of the audience and that for the past 20 years, people had been asking him why he hadn't made 'Gadar 2.' 'I knew the love for the characters was immense. So, I had full faith in the film's success. In fact, I had already predicted it—sending an email to Zee even before the release that it would make 500 crores. The director went on to say, 'The love people have for these characters makes it a legacy in itself." Anil disclosed that they are undoubtedly working on 'Gadar 3,' revealing his plans for the project. 'The story will continue. The success of both 'Gadar 1' and 'Gadar 2' shows that the story and characters have a special place in people's hearts, and this will carry on in part three," he stated.
