On July 12, NEC Nijmegen will be the next foe for Chiefs.

Kaizer Chiefs' 2025 Pre-Season Tour in the Netherlands: Fixtures and Highlights
After another short break, on July 15 Chiefs will play PEC Zwolle before wrapping up their tour the next day against FC Twente Enschede.
Kaizer Chiefs said in a statement:
Kaizer Chiefs will conduct their 2025 pre-season training camp in the Netherlands. The team is set to arrive on July 4 and depart on July 19, and will be based in the town of Apeldoorn, approximately 80 kilometres from Amsterdam.
As part of the tour, Amakhosi will play five friendly matches against Dutch top-tier sides from both the Eredivisie and Eerste Divisie. Four of the matches will be open to the public, with one being held behind closed doors.
This recently concluded season, it was another underwhelming campaign from Kaizer Chiefs that saw them finish ninth in the Betway Premiership.
Though Chiefs did win their first piece of silverware in a decade when they beat Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final last month, it did not hide the fact that the AmaKhosi finished outside the top eight for a second season in a row.
Kaizer Chiefs fixtures:
July 8 - SBV Vitesse Arnhem
July 11 - FC Utrecht
July 12 - NEC Nijmegen
July 15 - PEC Zwolle
July 16 - FC Twente Enschede

Kaizer Chiefs news: Basadien, Saleng, Nabi drama, new signing

Kaizer Chiefs have an array of transfer news – some good, some questionable. Let's start with the former. According to reports, AmaKhosi have put pen to paper with Durban-born Ethan Chislett, who has amassed 242 games and 56 goal contributions in England's top-flight leagues, playing for AFC Wimbledon and FC Port Vale. Now for the questionable. Orlando Pirates' missing man Monnapule Saleng has reportedly signed a pre-contract with Kaizer Chiefs. However, early signs indicate this to be far from the truth, with neither of the three parties commenting. Then there's Stellebosch left-back Fawaaz Basadien, a player Nasreddine Nabi's side have been desperate to sign since last offseason. It appears that this deal is unlikely to happen anytime soon. 'Yes, there are youngsters who have been promoted to the senior team and will be traveling with the team to the Netherlands but Aphiwe (Baliti) has more experience than them in the top flight and that's why they are considering him as it is believed they (Chiefs) can't get Fawaaz Basadien or Mohamed Hussein at the moment,' a source revealed. Lastly, Kaizer Chiefs' interest in Orlando Pirates duo Paseko Mako and Thabiso Monyane wasn't in Nasreddine Nabi's plans; however, the club have decided to pursue regardless. 'It's believed that the coach was not part of interest in those two players. Apparently, the coach was looking at three right backs, in Richards Bay defender Lwandile Mabuya, Cape Town Spurs' Lungelo Bhengu and Mhleli Mabuza who had trials at the club in May. And at left back the coach's main interest was Fawaaz Basadien (Stellies) and Mohamed Hussein from Simba SC in Tanzania,' a source said. 'But apparently the scouts and management are believed to have liked Monyane and Mako. So, we will see what will happen in the pre-season whether the coach will still go for his targets or they will settle for the two former Orlando Pirates players.' BREAKING: Kaizer Chiefs to sign ex-Sporting and Benfica striker!

Kaizer Chiefs may have finally found the striker they have been looking for in the market if reports are true. It's no secret that Chiefs are searching for a top forward who can help them with their goal scoring problems. Amakhosi have struggled in front of goal for about three to four seasons now with no solution in site. That has since seen coach Nasreddine Nabi become vocal throughout last season about a lack of striking options. Subsequently there have been quite a few attackers linked with Chiefs going into the next season. This as a sign of what they're trying to fix in the final third. Amakhosi, however, have seen the likes of Fiston Mayele, Etiosa Ighodaro, Robert Polievka mentioned as strikers. In the wingers department Oswin Appollis, Elias Mokwana, Mihlali Mayambela and Keletso Makgalwa have been touted. As it stands, it is believed they have signed Ighodaro, Asanele Velebayi and Ethan Chislett for their attack. But that is not where they will stop. According to FARPost, Chiefs are now poised to finalise a deal for Flavio Silva. 'Kaizer Chiefs look poised to secure the signature of Flavio Silva, a Portuguese striker with roots in Guinea-Bissau. Silva is a product of the Sporting CP youth academy, where he began his footballing journey. He is set to join Amakhosi from the Indonesian Premier League club Persebaya Surabaya, boasting an impressive scoring record. The 1.85m-tall striker made a striking debut in Southeast Asia in January 2023, netting five goals in a single match to lead Persik Kediri to a 5–2 victory over Persikabo 1973.' Wrote the publication. Silva has a record of 39 goals in 78 games while plying his trade in Indonesia. He will now look to test himself in the Betway Premiership with Chiefs. Amakhosi, are you happy with this signing? Let us know by clicking on the comment tab. Or by emailing info@ or sending a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1. Motaung not definitive on whether Chiefs' Nabi will stay

'We must allow processes to unfold internally,' said the Chiefs commercial and marketing director. Nasreddine Nabi won the Nedbank Cup but his Chiefs side finished tenth in the Betway Premiership last season. Picture: Gerhard Duraan/BackpagePix Kaizer Chiefs commercial and marketing director Jessica Motaung has stopped short of giving assurances that Nasreddine Nabi will still be Amakhosi head coach at the start of next season. ALSO READ: Chiefs to face Kotoko in Toyota Cup Nabi is currently preparing the side for a pre-season tour of the Netherlands, with the players returning this week for medicals at the Chiefs Village. Chiefs' mixed fortunes Motaung, however, says that Nabi's performance from last season is still under review. Nabi did win Chiefs their first trophy in ten years in the form of the 2025 Nedbank Cup. But Amakhosi also finished 10th in the Betway Premiership and will not play in the season-opening MTN8. 'Nabi is here at the Village and we will make sure he goes to the Netherlands,' said Motaung at the launch of the Toyota Cup. 'But we are looking at the entire process. A review of things still needs to be done. But the coach is here and looking at the players and making sure he prepares the team to go on the pitch and do the work they need to do.' 'We must allow processes to unfold internally. A review (of last season) has been done and there are discussions right now about where we are going and where we want to take things. With any announcements you must wait and allow us to make them … but the team are here preparing.' Motaung admitted Chiefs' league positions last season was not good enough. 'Ninth (in 2023/24) and tenth (in 2024/25) is not great. That is part of the difficult conversations we are having,' she said. 'We cannot find ourselves there again. The vision has always been to ascend and take our rightful place, where we need to be in African and South African football. And we will make the hard decisions to get there.' Chiefs have yet to announce any new signings ahead of the new season, but Phakaaathi understands that some are already in the Chiefs camp.. 'Absolute nonsense' Former Orlando Pirates full backs Thabiso Monyane and Paseka Mako, as well as midfielder Ethan Chislett, are among those said to have already signed for Amakhosi. Motaung, meanwhile, riled at suggestions Chiefs do not want to spend money in the transfer market. This week they missed out on the signing of midfielder Sipho Mbule, who has joined Orlando Pirates. 'Chiefs pays a lot of money, so I am quite surprised (about this). It is absolute nonsense, if you look at our investment in players and in the transfer space. It is also about the South African market, you have to ask if the negotiations are fair, if the prices people are asking for are fair. ALSO READ: Pirates announce a magnificent seven 'But …. You cold see the investment last season in players and in our technical team. Chiefs are putting our money where our mouth is.'
