Hamilton staying focused despite excitement of first Italian outing for Ferrari
The seven-time world champion takes to the track for the Scuderia at Imola this weekend, hoping the start of a European triple-header can help turn Ferrari's fortunes.
Hamilton is seventh in the driver standings after another tough weekend in Miami last time out, where he finished eighth and one place behind team-mate Charles Leclerc.
With Ferrari widely expected to challenge for the title at the start of the season, it has been a difficult first six races for the team from nearby Maranello.

A home race represents an opportunity for Ferrari but Hamilton also acknowledges that expectation brings pressure.
'I don't know what to expect. Obviously I have been here all these years and seen the Tifosi, I have gone on stage just after the Ferrari drivers and seen them in all these places that we go,' Hamilton said.
'The support is amazing. Even when you are just walking around the factory there are people at the gates every day. It is pretty incredible the support this team has.
'There is a lot of high hope and expectation of course but that comes with greatness. When you are a great team, that is what people expect.
'I don't approach it any differently but I am definitely excited to see more red.'

Hamilton's blockbuster move from Mercedes was announced ahead of last season, meaning the 40-year-old has had a long time to imagine life as a Ferrari driver.
That brings with it a number of firsts and Hamilton admits that the opening European race of the season and a home race weekend for the team offers even more opportunities to experience driving for Ferrari.
'Everything is kind of like a new experience,' he added.
'It is the first time that I have been to one of the European races and seen the motorhomes. I got here this morning and didn't know where I was going, had to get someone to show me round.
'I have seen these hospitality trucks since I started in F1 in 2007 and I've walked past them and never been inside and if I'm perfectly honest I've been scared to set foot inside as I was from another team.
'I never went past the first step. Today is the first time I've been inside this building and I guess it's another realisation that I'm here.
'And also it's just that you know that Italians are passionate and that there is passion around Ferrari.
'But it's a lot more than you expect when you are actually in it and it is beautiful.'
Hamilton's father Anthony is reportedly set to be handed an official role with the FIA.
The FIA has confirmed to the PA news agency that Anthony Hamilton has been working privately with the governing body in an advisory capacity and The Times report that he has impressed president Mohammed Ben Sulayem.
Lewis Hamilton has frequently clashed with Ben Sulayem in the past, including sanctions for the wearing of jewellery in the cockpit.
The president is due for re-election this year amid reports that Carlos Sainz Snr could run for the role.
Leclerc missed Thursday's media day at Imola through illness, although the team hope he will be available to drive in practice on Friday.

George Russell managed 18 points while Kimi Antonelli drew a blank in all three rounds of the Imola, Monaco and Barcelona triple-header, as Mercedes lost ground in the championship A top Mercedes chief has admitted the team is feeling "pretty stung" by a triple header of Formula 1 races which brought little joy. The first three European races of the 2025 season were difficult for the Silver Arrows who managed to score just 18 points over three Sundays. All of them were amassed by George Russell, who saw his remarkably consistent start to the campaign slip. He qualified well at Imola but struggled for pace during the race and slipped down to seventh, his worst result of the campaign up to that point. Things got worse in Monaco as he suffered an engine issue in qualifying and, with overtaking impossible on the tight Monte Carlo streets, couldn't make it into the top 10. He did at least return to the top five in Barcelona, finishing the Spanish Grand Prix fourth despite being rammed by Max Verstappen. While 18 points would have been a disappointing return to the Brit, it's a number Kimi Antonelli would have loved to bring home. Instead, he failed to score a single point over the course of a hellish triple header for the F1 rookie. He too qualified too low to have a chance of making the points in Monaco, and his 18th-placed finish there was sandwiched by two DNFs with Mercedes suffering reliability issues on that car. A throttle issue forced him to pull over at Imola, while his engine gave up in Spain because of an oil pressure problem. Reflecting on how the triple header went for the team, technical director James Allison said he and his colleagues had "mixed" feelings. He said: "I guess from Barcelona, there were aspects of the way we approached the weekend, of the performance of the car in very hot track conditions that give us some optimism for the future. "But we're all pretty stung by the DNFs and having been through a triple header where we didn't score at anything like the rate we did in the opening races of the year. So, hopefully, good looking forward, but I wouldn't want to do those three races again like that." Antonelli, 18, is in his first season on the F1 grid and team principal Toto Wolff has made it clear that it will be little more than a year of learning for a talent who Mercedes hope can go on to be a future superstar. But despite the lower expectations in his maiden campaign, Allison admitted the teenager has been affected by his difficult run. He said: "Kimi is young and full of all the optimism of youth, but I absolutely know that our failures in this period have taken a few chunks out of Kimi along the way. Two DNFs, one caused by a chassis problem, one caused by a PU problem in just three races – that's a pretty tough pill to swallow. "Leaving that aside, and Kimi looking in it himself, he will know that he's got more to find. But in amongst that, there's been a lot of very positive work with him and brilliant experience for him running on a very dynamic track like it was in Barcelona, with the track temperatures pushing up towards 50 degrees and managing soft tyres in those conditions. That is just putting experience into him at a very fast rate, and he was handling it pretty well."

From there injuries meant Brandy was never able to settle at one club, kickstarting a journeyman-like career that saw him play in Greece and Thailand as well as for the likes of Sheffield United, Rotherham and Rochdale. He said: "I always saw myself playing for Man Utd, I didn't really know anything else. I only really knew Man Utd and England. So when it did come to an end it was hard, I was upset. 'But I thought to myself, for my career, this has to happen. I didn't want to be one of those players that was 23/24 and signing contracts just to be at a big club. "I wanted to go and make a name for myself elsewhere. I was obviously upset, but it was something that had to be done. 'People ask 'should I have signed for Barcelona?'. Don't get me wrong, the weather would have been nicer, but I've got no regrets. 'There's probably a few things I took for granted. Doing extra in the gym and making myself the best footballer I could have been. "I had a lot of injuries and there's things like that that I could have done better to have a better career. Brandy launched Skouted when his career came to an end, an app that helps unattached players find new clubs and clubs find the best new talent. The app, which allows young players to upload clips of themselves playing for top clubs to browse through, has already helped in excess of 300 youngsters earn trials. Had Brandy not embarked on his journey through the leagues, then he may never have started the app. He explained: "When I was in my late 20s I had been battling with so many injuries and I started to think about my future. "I didn't really want to be a coach or a manager. That's when I started to put Skouted in place. 'I've always had an entrepreneurial mindset and I think what really triggered it was that when I was at Man Utd, I was pretty fortunate to be there as long as I was. "I was fortunate to get a contract every year from the age of eight until I was 22. 'I had friends that might not have been good enough to make it at Man Utd, but they might have been able to go and play at a lesser club. "But when they got released their parents or their guardians didn't have the connections to pick up the phone to someone in the Championship or League One and ask for a trial. 'That's when I thought to myself, 'I need to create something that's going to bridge that gap between players and clubs'. "Something where football clubs can find these players and players have got a platform to present themselves in front of these football clubs.'
