Kneecap apology to fans as concert cancelled due to ‘safety concerns'
It comes after the group were banned from entering Hungary in July ahead of their scheduled performance at Sziget Festival on August 11.
The group, known for their provocative lyrics and championing of the Irish language, have had several shows cancelled in recent months, including TRNSMT festival in Glasgow and at the Eden Project in Cornwall.

They have said there is a smear campaign against them because of their support for Palestine and criticism of Israel's actions in Gaza.
In a social media post on Friday the group said: "Our planned show in Vienna on September 1st is cancelled."
The social media post added: "To the 3500 people we were looking forward to seeing at our first headline show in Vienna, we are sorry: this is out of our hands.
"All tickets will be refunded.
"Yet again, it is clear that this is political distraction and a further attempt to silence those who call out genocide against the Palestinian people.
"But as always, we will fight on for what is right."
A note on the venues website said: "Racoon Live Entertainment GmbH hereby cancels the planned Kneecap show on September 1, 2025, at the Gasometer Vienna due to acute safety concerns raised by the responsible authorities."
Kneecap, comprised of Liam Og O hAnnaidh, Naoise O Caireallain and JJ O Dochartaigh, were formed in Belfast and released their first single in 2017.
They hit headlines in April when footage emerged that appeared to show a band member saying "Kill your local MP" at one gig and and "Up Hamas, up Hezbollah" at another.
In May, O hAnnaidh, who performs under the name Mo Chara, was charged with a terrorism offence relating to allegedly displaying a flag in support of Hezbollah at a London gig in November 2024.
O hAnnaidh and his bandmates were cheered by hundreds of supporters when they arrived at Westminster Magistrates' Court on June 18.
Musicians including Nadine Shah and Gurriers have said they will attend court to support the group when O hAnnaidh returns on August 20.
Kneecap have apologised to the families of murdered MPs and said they have "never supported" Hamas or Hezbollah, which are banned in the UK.
They were also investigated over their set at Glastonbury Festival in June, but Avon and Somerset Police said they would be taking no further action in July.

Before the opening of the Bard Music Festival on Friday, the conductor Leon Botstein turned to the audience to introduce the evening's unlikely star. The work captures something of the essence of this artist, who embraced both the turbulence and the technological marvels of the 20th century, and who delighted in unusual groupings of instruments that work their charm as much through choreography as sound. This year marks both Botstein's 50th year as president of Bard College and the 35th iteration of the festival, which he has built into a summer institution: two weekends of concerts, panel discussions, and lectures exploring the life and work of a single composer, accompanied by a scholarly volume of essays. The subject is as likely to be a household name as an overlooked figure, but the program always stretches beyond familiar repertoire. That mix of intellectual ambition and freedom from commercial pressures is rare in music-making in the United States, and it flourishes here. Judging by Friday's stimulating opener, this year's exploration of Martinu, a restless exile equally fluent in Czech folk song, Neo-Classicism and the hum of the modern world, invites audiences to discover one of the most distinct and delightful voices of his time. Upcoming programs include a concert performance of 'Julietta,' Martinu's surreal dream opera, and works by composers from his ambit, among them his student and erstwhile romantic interest, Vitezslava Kapralova. With a catalog of more than 400 works, including six symphonies and 15 operas to choose from, the Bard could offer only a slice of his output. Martinu was born in 1890 in a clock tower in the small Bohemian town of Policka, where his father was the fire watcher. Ninety-nine steps above ground, the family lived in a single square room with a commanding view of the countryside, a vantage point that may explain the composer's signature blend of pastoral idyll with cool detachment. What we know about family killed in car crash in Portugal while holidaying from the UK
A Portuguese family who were living in the UK have been killed in a car accident while on holiday in Europe. Domingos Serrano, 55, wife, Maria, 51, and their 20-year-old twin sons, Afonso and Domingos, died when their car was involved in a collision with another vehicle on a motorway near Castro Verde in southern Portugal, authorities have confirmed. The family was living in Thetford, Norfolk, prompting a tribute from the local football club, where the sons played. A 19-year-old woman - reported to be the girlfriend of one of the twins - and the driver of the other car was also killed in the crash. What we know The Serrano family are believed to originally be from the Mourão area of Portugal but were reportedly living in Thetford, in Norfolk. They are understood to have regularly visited the south-east of Portugal for holidays and were travelling from Faro to Mourão when the crash happened. The car they were in, reportedly a Nissan Juke hired from Faro airport, collided with another vehicle on Saturday on the IP2 motorway near Castro Verde, in the Alentejo region, killing the four members of the family and two others. In a statement, the municipal council of Mourão declared two days of municipal mourning starting on Sunday. It said: "The Municipality, in collaboration with the family and law enforcement agencies, especially the Castro Verde Local GNR Station, officially acknowledged the license plate of the vehicle in which they were traveling, confirming the identity of the passengers at 3:35 PM. "The vehicle contained four occupants, all of whom were from Mourão, and a young woman related to the family. Residents of England, they were traveling from Faro to Mourão for their usual and well-deserved vacation." It offered its condolences to the families and friends of the victims, and said all activities and events promoted by the municipality were cancelled throughout the weekend. A tribute was also paid on the Thetford Town Youth Football Club, where the twins had played for the under-18s team. The statement on its Facebook page - shared with a picture of the family - said: "Thetford Town Football Club would like to pass on our sincere condolences to the Serrano family and the local Portuguese community after the recent tragedy while on holiday. "Afonso and Domingo's were both an integral part of our U18's team in recent years, both brothers sadly passed away in Portugal with their parents and friends in a tragic car accident. The loss of this lovely family will leave a massive void in the local community." It added: "Partiram, mas numca serao esquecidos", which means: 'They are gone, but they will never be forgotten.' What we don't know Alongside the four Serrano family members, the exact identities of the two other people who died in the crash have not emerged yet. Reports have suggested one was the girlfriend of one of the twin sons, named in some reports as a 19-year-old Polish national called Veronica, and the other the driver of the other car involved, who The Sun named as 36-year-old Ruben Goncalves. The exact circumstances and cause of the crash have also not been revealed, though they are said to be under investigation. While the Serrano family are believed to be from Mourão originally, and holidayed their regularly, they reportedly lived in Thetford in Norfolk. It is not know exactly when or why they moved to the UK, and other than the sons' involvement in the local football club, other work or interests have not yet emerged.
