John Cena loves a traditional fish and chips
John Cena absolutely loves fish and chips and a Full English Breakfast.
The 48-year-old actor has been over to the UK a lot over the past two decades during his time as a WWE superstar, and he's embraced the local cuisine to the point that he went for a very traditional meal before Tuesday's Heads of State world premiere in London.
Appearing on ITV daytime show This Morning, he said: 'I enjoyed [fish and chips] so much that right before our premiere last night, we had about 90 minutes and myself and my two friends, all from America, we sat down, we ordered fish and chips, we had a pint, and that got us ready for the world premiere.'
John - who revealed he went for vinegar and a little bit of dunking in the tartar sauce' - got more of a taste for a chippy after the dish plays a role in his new movie with Idris Elba.
The Hollywood star also opened up on his admiration for a 'savoury breakfast', which he learned to love during his early WWE days.
He added: 'All savoury! In America, we tend to lean on the sweet. It's all very filling, but very sweet. Boy, do I love a savoury breakfast! 'I've been a fan of the English breakfast for a long time - you gotta remember, with WWE, I've being coming over here for 25 years.'
Although the lines between real life and art have been blurred with his food preferences, John insisted that won't be the case after he played the President of the United States in the new action comedy.
He quipped: 'I am playing the role of the president of the United States. I would much rather play the role of President of the United States than BE the President of the United States. I'm happy in my lane!'
When This Morning host Ben Shephard joked that real life president Donald Trump often appears to be playing a role too, the wrestling legend kept his response diplomatic.

Wrestling Legend Hulk Hogan Dies At 71 In Florida
Hulk Hogan, the iconic face of professional wrestling who helped transform the WWE into a global phenomenon, died Thursday in Florida at the age of 71. Hogan, born Terry Bollea, was pronounced dead at a hospital following a cardiac arrest at his home in Clearwater, police said. Authorities confirmed there were no signs of foul play. A towering figure with a signature bandana, handlebar mustache, and '24-inch pythons,' Hogan was a household name by the mid-1980s. He headlined the first WrestleMania in 1985 and became the face of 'Hulkamania,' captivating audiences with his charisma and powerful ring presence. He won six WWE championships and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2005, later reinstated in 2018 after a suspension. Beyond the ring, Hogan expanded his influence into pop culture, starring in movies, TV shows, and even reality television with Hogan Knows Best. In recent years, he made headlines for his vocal support of U.S. President Donald Trump and was a high-profile guest at the 2024 Republican National Convention. Despite a scandal-ridden second act—including a racially charged controversy and a privacy lawsuit against Gawker Media—Hogan remained a beloved figure for many fans, symbolizing an era of wrestling superstardom. WWE co-founder Vince McMahon described him as 'the first performer who transitioned from being a wrestling star into a global phenomenon.' In his final months, Hogan was set to become the commissioner of the Real American Freestyle league, promoting it as the 'first unscripted pro wrestling' venture, with its debut scheduled for August 30. He is survived by his legacy in sports entertainment and a generation of fans who grew up chanting his name.

The General Entertainment Authority Chairman Turki Alalshikh has announced that the upcoming Riyadh Season will be 'very different,' with global surprises, top-tier performances, and blockbuster events. In a video posted to his official X account, Alalshikh said the ongoing Esports World Cup, offering more than $70 million in prizes, has already energized Riyadh with momentum that will continue for weeks. Among the biggest highlights is the World Comedy Festival, the largest of its kind, scheduled from September 26 to October 9 at Boulevard Riyadh City. It will feature over 50 world-renowned comedians including Kevin Hart, Russell Peters, Sebastian Maniscalco, Whitney Cummings, Gabriel Iglesias, Bill Burr, and Andrew Schulz. The festival will also host interactive activities, workshops, and daily performances representing various comedic styles. Alalshikh revealed the new Riyadh Season will spotlight Saudi, Gulf, and global content, with a notable presence from Syrian talent in theatre and concerts. He also teased major collaborations including shows with YouTube megastar MrBeast, international concerts, WWE and UFC matches, and the Royal Rumble set for January 2026 in Riyadh. The sports calendar will feature the Six Kings world tennis championship, where six of the sport's top stars will compete for the largest prize pot globally over four days in the capital. Beyond live events, Saudi Arabia is pushing into global film production. Alalshikh confirmed that filming will soon begin on The Battle of Yarmouk: Khalid ibn Al-Walid, an English-language epic with an international cast and crew, comparable in scale to films by Ridley Scott. Two other major projects are underway: one on the Saudi army, and another on anti-narcotics efforts. The military film will be written by Oscar-nominated screenwriter Robert Rodat (Saving Private Ryan, The Patriot). On the television front, Alalshikh revealed a new reality show being filmed in Scotland, a high-end comedy series starring Saudi actor Nasser Al-Qasabi, and an epic drama titled Abu Al-Muluk: Abdul Malik ibn Marwan, created by writers from Game of Thrones, Vikings, and The Last Kingdom. Another major production, Interpol, is in development alongside a Saudi action-comedy titled The Boulevard, directed by Mohammed Al-Mulla and filmed entirely at Boulevard Riyadh City, inspired by Night at the Museum. Alalshikh also confirmed the return of the hit game show Takeshi's Castle ('Al-Hisn') in a new, world-class version co-produced with its original Japanese creators, airing on MBC and Shahid. 'Riyadh Season will deliver surprises unlike anything seen before,' Alalshikh concluded. 'We are working on content that will truly impress.' Conundrum!
The English translation of the late author Fumio Yamamoto's short stories collection The Dilemmas of Working Women has hit the shelves. Translated by Brian Bergstrom, the book tackles the relatable lives of women in modern Japan through five tales. Divorced and unemployed, Izumi wonders if the alternative is really better; the people around cancer survivor Haruka think now that she has recovered she should just forget about it; Kato feels invisible to her husband and children; Mito is cheating on her boyfriend and can't decide whether or not to accept his marriage proposal and Sumie is searching for a place to live. Brian admires Fumio and in a social media post, expressed his joy of getting to deliver her work to an English-speaking audience. The post reads: 'This is a dream come true as I've been a big fan of her for years, and I had almost lost hope of her work getting translated (not just by me, but by anyone!) after her untimely death (at 58 due to pancreatic cancer) in 2021. But in the end, I found people who responded warmly to her unique voice and vision and were willing to do what it takes to bring her to a whole new set of readers. I couldn't be happier.'
