Intel Confirms 12 P-Core Bartlett Lake S CPU In Nova Lake Slide

Intel has given the first confirmation of the long-rumored Bartlett Lake CPU with 12 performance cores and no E cores. The surprise reveal comes in a slide about Intel's Time Coordinated Computing platform, which pushes high-performance edge computing. The document is designed to show how Intel's CPUs can manage real-time and general-purpose workloads simultaneously, showing current and future-generation CPUs that can do this. One of them is a 12-core Bartlett Lake design.
Intel's desktop platforms have been rather uninspiring for the past few generations. The 14th Generation was barely a clock-speed increase over its predecessor, and saw very little movement between generations, especially with the flagship. The Arrow Lake generation that followed improved performance per watt and productivity workloads, but did little for gaming. Bartlett Lake is slotting somewhere in the middle, supporting the older socket design, but with a performance focus.
Long-rumored as more of a competitor for AMD's gaming-focused X3D CPUs, the 12-core Bartlett Lake CPU is unique among Intel's existing designs since it has just one CPU core architecture onboard. It uses just performance cores, whereas all other Intel CPUs from the past few generations have offered either a small quantity of solo P cores, or a mixture of performance and efficiency (and sometimes low-power efficiency) cores.

The lack of any E cores will absolutely tank this chip's multithreading performance. But Intel's performance cores have long been impressively powerful, just hampered by their limited number and high power draw compared with AMD's alternatives. A 12-core Bartlett Lake CPU could end up being Intel's gaming performance king for a short time ahead of an Arrow Lake refresh later this year, or provide an alternative to older CPU generations like AMD's still-supported Ryzen 5000 series.
No more details about the chip exist at this time, with this slide reveal being the first to even confirm its existence. It debuts on this slide alongside more established upcoming CPU generations, like Panther Lake and Nova Lake, with both performance S and efficient, U versions of the chips.
Intel also gave the first lip-service to a generation of low-power chips called Wildcat Lake, which VideoCardz suggests as a probable successor for Twin Lake.

While Intel is touting the launch of its two Battlemage Pro GPUs at Computex, the chip maker also has samples of its much-anticipated Core Ultra 300 (Panther Lake) chips on hand, powering demo systems. That's an improvement from Embedded World, when the samples were on display without PCs. Some of the info is familiar: Intel says Panther Lake offers similar power efficiency as Lunar Lake but better performance, like Arrow Lake. That sounds great, but for now, we're hearing more about the processor than seeing it in action. Even on the demo systems, for example, performance numbers were in short supply. The samples completed AI workloads, edited images, and handled other tasks smoothly, but benchmark scores aren't on the table yet. John Burek, an executive editor for our sibling publication PCMag, had a close-up look at the samples in Taipei. Although Panther Lake chips likely won't be hitting the market until early 2026, the tech is far enough along for demonstrations. In fact, Intel reached the risk production stage for its 18A node in April. Panther Lake is built by Intel Foundry on Intel's sub-2nm 18A process, and the Foundry plans to use the same process to build chips for other chip designers. Intel said Panther Lake will likely reach consumers early in 2026. That gives Intel the second half of 2025 to ramp up production. It wasn't all that long ago that Intel was aiming for a 2025 release, but rumors suggested that 2026 was more likely. At this point, there's no reason to expect delays beyond early 2026, but Intel has too much riding on its 18A process to deliver the Panther Lake CPUs before they're ready. Intel had the samples running in PC, SFF, and notebook form factors. The notebooks on display were from OEMs such as Foxxconn. Seeing what Asus, MSI, Razer, and the like can do with Panther Lake will have to wait for later. The integrated graphics are a new design. We know from the chip's appearance at Embedded World that they'll have two to 12 Xe cores, depending on the model. A neural processor for AI calculations, Thunderbolt 4, and LPDDR5 memory are among the other features we're aware of at this point. The graphics chip appears set to be made by TSMC.

Uber also showed a 35% year-on-year surge in its adjusted Earnings Before Interest Tax Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA). Uber's adjusted EBITDA performance exhibits strong and healthy earnings performance by Uber. It also shows its relevance as a platform in the travel and at-home consumption 2Q 2025, Uber's gross bookings are set to grow about 16% to 20% YoY and its adjusted EBITDA by 29% to 35% YoY. With AI continuing to be the talk of the town, Micron is making strides in solidifying its position in the AI-driven semiconductor chip industry. For 2Q FY2025, Micron's revenue from its High Bandwidth Memory chips grew more than 50% quarter-on-quarter and its data centre Dynamic Random Access Memory (DRAM) chip revenue reached a record high. Micron also has a monopoly, being the sole supplier of low-powered DRAM chips into data centres in large quantities. Micron's newly developed 1-gamma DRAM has also achieved 20% lower power, 15% better performance and over 30% in bit-density as compared to its 1-beta development places Micron in a strategic position to capture the growing demand for memory chips and data centres. In 2Q FY2025, Micron reported a revenue of US$8.05 billion, a 38% YoY increase and a more than two-fold increase in audited net income of US$1.58 billion from US$0.79 billion in 2Q FY2024. For 3Q FY2025, its revenue is projected to be between US$8.6 billion to US$9 billion. Another big player in the AI semiconductor industry is AMD. Unlike Micron, AMD produces processing units and graphic cards for AI and gaming applications. For 1Q 2025, AMD announced solid earnings as revenue increased by 36% YoY, along with an increase in net profit of 476% YoY to US$709 million. For 2Q 2025, AMD projected revenue of between US$7.1 billion to US$7.7 billion. The company's management also announced a US$6 billion share repurchase programme, demonstrating strong confidence in AMD's growth and ability to generate consistent strong free cash flow. With the recent frenzy regarding the US tariffs, it may be surprising to see Amazon, an e-commerce giant, on this in 1Q 2025 the company announced a strong performance with net sales increasing by almost 9% YoY to US$155.7 billion. Its net profit also increased from US$10.4 billion in the first quarter in 2024 to US$17.1 billion in 1Q of the largest contributors was Amazon Web Services (AWS). The cloud service division's revenue saw an increase of 17% YoY to US$29.3 billion as it is less susceptible to tariff threats. Amazon is also leveraging AI by partnering with HUMAIN with a US$5 billion investment to develop an innovation hub for AWS AI infrastructure in Saudi Arabia. Adobe's Creative Cloud and its applications is one of the most recognised tools in the creative industry, from Photoshop to InDesign. Adobe is also improving its AI products such as Adobe Experience Platform Agent Orchestrator which is used to manage AI agents and create more personalised creative content. For 1Q FY2025 ending 28 February 2025, Adobe had a record revenue of US$5.7 billion, a 10% YoY increase. Its net income also increased from US$620 million in 1Q FY2024 to US$1.8 billion in 1Q FY2025. The best performing segment was that of Digital Media, with a revenue of US$4.2 billion, representing an 11% YoY growth. Adobe projected that its 2Q FY2025 revenue will be between US$23.3 billion to US$23.55 billion. As AI and digital innovation continue to redefine the rules of competition, these five companies stand out not just for embracing change — but for turning trends into sustainable growth.
