250 roads closed due to heavy downpour in HP
The State Emergency Operation Centre (SEOC) said that a total of 181 roads are closed in disaster-hit Mandi, 26 in Sirmaur and 23 in Kullu district, while 61 water supply schemes and 81 power distribution transformers were affected as of Friday morning.
The Met office has issued an 'orange' alert, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall in isolated areas of Himachal Pradesh on July 21 and 23, and 'yellow' alert, warning of heavy rains at isolated places in the state till Sunday.
Light to moderate rain lashed parts of the state on Thursday evening. Jogindernagar received 40 mm of rain, Sarahan 38 mm, Jatton Barrage 28.6 mm, Kothi 28.4 mm, Shilaroo 26.4 mm, Murari Devi 26 mm, and Narkanda and Jot 23 mm each.
Since the onset of monsoon on June 20 till July 17, the SEOC said that around 112 people have lost their lives, including 67 in rain-related incidents and 45 in road accidents.
Around 199 people have been injured, while 35 are missing, the SEOC added.
Himachal Pradesh, which has witnessed 31 flash floods, 22 cloudbursts and 19 landslides this monsoon, has suffered losses of over Rs 1,220 crore, said the department.

The village is a key stop on the route to Gangotri, the origin of the Ganga, and hosts several hotels and homestays. Multiple Landslides Block Mandi-Manali Route, Tourists Spend Night On Highway
Over five landslides between Mandi and Manali in Himachal Pradesh have blocked the Chandigarh-Manali National Highway. People travelling to Kullu and Manali have been stranded for over 12 hours now and have had to spend the night in their vehicles. The local administration is working towards opening a single lane for lighter vehicles till roads are cleared. A man from Uttar Pradesh, headed to Manali for a vacation, has been stuck since 4 am. "We are waiting. Depending on the situation, we will decide if we want to move ahead or take a u-turn as nothing is bigger than life," he said, speaking to NDTV. A businessman from Ambala started his journey to Kullu last evening, but his truck was stopped around 7:30 pm owing to a road blockage. The man, who regularly visits Kullu for work, says he has no option but to wait. "It is only since the start of monsoon, that is June 20, we have been facing issues in commuting. But we have to go for business," he said. "The road is likely to clear by 3 pm. Let us see," added another businessman. People travelling from Mandi to Manali and vice versa have been stuck at the two ends of the highway due to multiple landslides en route. The work is on to clear the road and restore traffic movement, but it could take a day. Meanwhile, traffic police have been deployed to restrict vehicles from moving towards Manali. 413 Pilgrims Rescued Via Zipline, Cloudbursts Wash Away Bridge In Himachal Over 400 pilgrims have been rescued from the Kinnaur Kailash trek in Himachal Pradesh after two makeshift bridges on the trek route were washed away, leaving several tourists stranded. Incidents of cloudbursts and heavy rains were reported in Kinnaur, with a bridge over the Tangling drain being washed away on Wednesday morning. The rescue operations were led by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) along with the National Disaster Relief Force (NDRF). Himachal Pradesh Rain Fury: 194 Deaths Reported This Monsoon Season Himachal Pradesh has reported 194 deaths and a cumulative loss of over Rs 1.85 lakh during the monsoon season - from June 20 to August 5 - this year, according to a report by the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA). Rain-related incidents like landslides, flash floods, and cloudbursts have resulted in loss of public and private infrastructure. The total loss to private property is estimated at Rs 97,129.91 lakh, while public property damage is at Rs 63,341.15 lakh. Apart from this, 446 roads and three national highways - NH-305, NH-003, and NH-05 - are blocked, 360 Distribution Transformers (DTRs) have stopped working, and 257 water supply schemes are disrupted.

Uttarkashi Flash Floods: 1 Body Recovered, Over 60 Missing, Rescue Ops On
Dehradun: Rescuers retrieved one body from the rubble in flood-ravaged Dharali village, as the search for the missing resumed on Wednesday amid rain. Nearly half of the picturesque Dharali village was ravaged by flash floods on Tuesday afternoon. The village is the main stopover on the way to Gangotri, from where the Ganga originates, and is home to several hotels and home stays. Four deaths have so far been confirmed in the flash flood, which followed a cloudburst. Around 130 people have been evacuated to safety, officials said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to get an update on the situation and assured him of the Centre's assistance. Chief Minister Dhami held a meeting with officials at the State Emergency Operation Centre here to review the rescue efforts. He surveyed the flooded area in Dharali and Harsil from a helicopter. "The rescue work is apace. Teams from the army, ITBP, and SDRF have reached the spot. Around 70-80 people have been rescued... Debris has reached an army base. A road has been blocked. The DM and an SP rank officer are on their way to the spot. It's a challenging situation as it is still raining there," he told PTI Videos. Chief Minister Dhami said arrangements have been made for medicines and food, and 160 police personnel have been deployed, 10 of them senior and three SP-rank, to oversee the disbursement of ration. Three nodal officers have been appointed from the CM's office. "Every life matters to us," the chief minister said Home Secretary Shailesh Bagauli, quoting the ITBP, said that one body was retrieved from the flash flood site. The Indian Army has kept its MI-17 and Chinook helicopters on standby to look for the stranded. They will take off only after the weather clears. At least 60 people are said to have gone missing, but the number is likely higher, as many had gathered for the Har Dudh fair in Dharali village when the tragedy struck. The missing include 11 soldiers, Defence spokesperson Lt Col Manish Shrivastava said. Colonel Harshvardhan, Commanding Officer of 14 Raj Rif, is leading the relief and rescue operations with a 150-soldier team. Despite its soldiers going missing and its base being hit, the team is working with full courage and determination, Mr Shrivastava said.
