BTS' New Album Delayed Due To Bang Si Hyuk's Fraud Case? Here's What We Know
After three years of waiting, BTS announced that they will be making a comeback to the music scene with a brand-new album. This would be their first new release since the members completed their mandatory military service. Fans have been buzzing with excitement since the seven members of the band, RM, Jin, J-Hope, Suga, Jimin, V and Jungkook, confirmed the news, sharing that they would be in the United States to work with international artists on their new album. But now a new report suggests that they might have to halt the production of the album.
On Wednesday, August 13, a report by News Tong mentioned that Bang Si Hyuk, the chairman of HYBE, which is the parent company of BTS's agency BigHit Music, rushed back to South Korea on August 11. He was summoned for questioning in the stock fraud case, where he had been accused of engaging in fraudulent and unfair trading.
According to the report, this unexpected trip allegedly caused BTS's album production in the US to come to a standstill. However, no other major media outlet has verified the claim, and it seems unlikely that the group would pause work on their new album for this reason alone.
Why Is HYBE's Chairman Bang Si Hyuk Under Investigation?
Before their IPO in 2020, Bang Si Hyunk and three other top executives deceived minority shareholders by having them sell their HYBE shares to a private equity fund (PEF), which he secretly controlled. Therefore, when the entertainment company eventually filed for an IPO, the chairman and the others benefited from the sales of the shares.
Meanwhile, just days before Bang Si Hyuk returned to South Korea, he addressed the ongoing investigation involving alleged stock manipulation by him. He wrote an email to the employees of his company and assured them that he would fully cooperate with the investigators. 'I feel a deep sense of regret knowing that our members and artists, who should be focused solely on their creative and professional goals, might be suffering because of this situation. I understand how my absence may have contributed to confusion and frustration," a part of his email read, as reported by Forbes.
When Is BTS Releasing Their New Album?
For now, it's clear that BTS is still hard at work on their upcoming album. Just days ago, the septet shared behind-the-scenes glimpses showing them collaborating with Charlie Puth, while leader RM was spotted with Diplo. All seven members recently reunited after Jin wrapped up his first solo tour, RunSeokJin EP, on August 10. So far, fans know only that BTS's brand-new album is set to be released in the first half of 2026, with the exact date yet to be announced.

Man dies after being run over by SUV during road rage incident in Jaipur
Agency: PTI Jaipur, Aug 16 (PTI) A 35-year-old man was killed after being run over by an SUV during a road rage incident in Murlipura area here on Saturday, police said. The victim, identified as Chandrashekhar, a native of Uttar Pradesh who lived in Jaipur and worked as a labourer, was caught in the middle of a clash between two groups after a Scorpio SUV collided with a car, Additional DCP (West) Alok Singhal said. Following the collision, four to five men from the SUV allegedly pulled out sticks, smashed the car's windows and got into a fight with the driver. As locals gathered and confronted them, Chandrashekhar fell on the road during the chaos. Will fully cooperate for release of The Devil: Actor Darshan
Agency: PTI Bengaluru, Aug 16 (PTI) Kannada actor Darshan on Saturday said he would 'fully cooperate" for the release of his film 'The Devil'. He also expressed confidence that his 'celebrities" — as he calls his fans — will also stand by his decision. The message was conveyed through his wife Vijayalakshmi's Instagram account. Directed by Prakash Veer, the first song of the film was supposed to have been released on August 15. But with the Supreme Court cancelling his bail, Darshan was taken into custody a day before, on August 14. Following which, the plans for the film were reportedly put on hold. However, Darshan said his first duty is to support the directors who believed in him and the producers who have invested crores of money in him. 'So, I hope that all the work of my film 'The Devil' will proceed without any hindrance. I hereby inform you that you (makers of the film) have my full cooperation. And I firmly believe that my celebrities (fans) will consent to this," Darshan is quoted as saying in his wife's Instagram post. Darshan had wrapped up the film in July. The reshooting of the film started in February after the actor was released on regular bail. 'Cinema is an entertainment medium and should be viewed only from the perspective of entertainment," the actor said further through his wife's post. Darshan was arrested on June 11, 2024, in connection with Renukaswamy murder case. Darshan was granted interim bail on medical grounds after he claimed back pain. Gangster found hanging in Delhis Mandoli Jail, police suspect suicide
New Delhi, Aug 16 (PTI) A notorious gangster with several criminal cases registered against him, including those for murder and extortion, was found dead in his cell at Mandoli Jail here on Saturday, officials said. They said police suspect that he died by suicide. The inmate, identified as Salman Tyagi, was found hanging during a routine inspection in Jail Number 15. Prison authorities said he had used a bedsheet to make a noose. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead, they said. Police and jail officials have launched an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding his death. 'A probe has been initiated. We are examining how the incident occurred and what could have led him to take this step. A detailed report will be submitted," a senior officer said. Tyagi was widely known in Delhi's underworld. Convicted under the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, he had a long record of offences, including cases of extortion and organised violence. He began his criminal career with the infamous Neeraj Bawana gang but later attempted to build his own network, investigators said. Sources said that in recent years, Tyagi sought to align himself with the Lawrence Bishnoi syndicate. Even while lodged in jail, he allegedly continued to issue instructions to his associates. Last year, he reportedly ordered an attack on two businessmen in Delhi to extort Rs 50 lakh from them. Police believe the move was intended to show his influence and gain Bishnoi's trust. Beyond crime, Tyagi cultivated a flamboyant image on social media. Officers said he was deeply influenced by Bollywood actor Salman Khan and copied his hairstyle and appearance from the 2003 film 'Tere Naam'. He often posted pictures and videos on Instagram and YouTube, projecting himself as a larger-than-life figure. 'Even after his arrest, he directed his aides to film him during court appearances and circulate videos to maintain his online presence," a police source said. Prison officials said CCTV footage and security measures are being reviewed to check for any lapses. Further investigation into the matter is underway, they added.
