Samsung's underrated Galaxy Buds 3 break into the spotlight with huge 47 percent discount

Phone Arena4 days ago
While bargain-hunting Samsung fans who've been in the market for a new pair of wireless earbuds these last few months may have reached the conclusion that they need to choose between the super-premium Galaxy Buds 3 Pro and entry-level Galaxy Buds FE, there's at least another product to consider.
The non-Pro Galaxy Buds 3 are obviously slightly humbler compared to their "sister" model in terms of both active noise cancellation and overall audio performance. But that's why they're also significantly cheaper, normally costing $179.99 instead of $249.99. And now they're even more affordable, at $94.99.
$85 off (47%) True Wireless Earbuds with Active Noise Cancellation, Sound Optimization, Real-Time Interpreter, Adaptive Equalizer, Galaxy AI, Touch Control, Bluetooth 5.4, IP57 Water and Dust Resistance, Up to 5 Hours of Uninterrupted Listening Time, 24 Hours of Battery Life with Case, Silver Color, Brand-New Condition, Two-Year Manufacturer Warranty Included Buy at Woot True Wireless Earbuds with Active Noise Cancellation, Sound Optimization, Real-Time Interpreter, Adaptive Equalizer, Galaxy AI, Touch Control, Bluetooth 5.4, IP57 Water and Dust Resistance, Up to 5 Hours of Uninterrupted Listening Time, 24 Hours of Battery Life with Case, White Color, US Version, Two-Year Warranty Included Buy at Amazon
That's almost half of the list price knocked down with no special requirements or notable compromises, mind you, as the cheaper-than-ever Galaxy Buds 3 units available at Woot for a limited time in a single silver colorway are not only brand-new, unused, unopened, and undamaged, but also covered by a two-year manufacturer warranty. Although the Amazon-owned e-tailer doesn't spell that out for us, the extended warranty strongly suggests that we're looking at an official US version of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 3, which makes this a more appealing offer than a Galaxy Buds 3 Pro Woot deal we recently told you about. That one incredibly brought Samsung's best buds from $249.99 all the way down to $109.99... in an "international" version with a modest 90-day warranty included.
Amazon, in case you're wondering, can only slash up to 40 bucks off the aforementioned $179.99 list price of the "regular" Galaxy Buds 3, which further highlights the exceptional opportunity to save no less than $85 at Woot for the next five days (or while supplies last). Designed to look a bit too similar to Apple's AirPods 4 for my taste, the non-Pro Samsung Galaxy Buds 3 do shine with proprietary features and capabilities like Live Translate and Galaxy AI-powered Adaptive Equalizer while certainly not disappointing in the sound, battery life, or water resistance departments. Are these the absolute best wireless earbuds money can buy in 2025? Definitely not. Are they good enough for 95 bucks? Definitely yes.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 is suddenly looking like the best processor for Samsung Galaxy S26

Though Samsung is trying its best to switch over to its Exynos chips completely, it often has to rely on Qualcomm's Snapdragon chips instead. The Samsung Galaxy S26 is supposed to debut with the Exynos 2600 chipset, but a recent revelation now makes the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 a very compelling to a new report ( translated source ), Qualcomm may not increase the price for the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2. If it does, then the cost increase is likely to be insignificant, and shouldn't affect the price tags of any phones that use the processor. Many previous rumors since the launch of the Galaxy S25 phones have claimed that Qualcomm is planning a massive price increase for the 8 Elite Gen 2. This was one of the reasons, according to reports, that Samsung was determined to perfect the Exynos 2600 on time. Failing to do so would have likely meant a much more expensive Galaxy S26 lineup. Samsung can't afford to do that if it wants to keep parity with current iPhone prices. So I'm sure that this news must be of great relief to the company, because it now has an out if the Exynos strategy doesn't work. The new Galaxy Z Flip 7 uses the Exynos 2500 processor. | Video credit — Samsung It's no secret that a lot of tech enthusiasts prefer Snapdragon chips over Exynos. I've been hoping for Samsung to sort out its yield problems, but that seems like a more drawn-out undertaking than previously anticipated. The company did eventually stabilize its 3 nm manufacturing process, and I'm hopeful that the 2 nm process will be good enough for timely delivery of the Exynos 2600. If that doesn't happen, however, then Samsung can now at least use Snapdragon again without worrying too much about manufacturing costs. Apple, on the other hand, is facing a lot of unpredictability. The iPhone 17 is expected to use 3 nm chips, and the phones after that are planned to feature 2 nm chips, both provided by TSMC ( Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company ). But President Donald Trump's tariff plans, and his insistence on an American-made iPhone, are making things difficult ( and expensive ) for Apple. Even if the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 2 saw a massive price hike — and was used in the S26 series — Samsung's phones may still cost the same as the new iPhone models. In the end, it's the consumer that's losing here.

AT&T has the last laugh as T-Mobile and Verizon are left embarassed

T-Mobile and Verizon spent the last month arguing over who was the best, while AT&T maintained a respectful distance from the debate. It looks like the carrier wanted a neutral party to settle the matter. According to mobile analytics firm RootMetrics, AT&T was the top performer in the first half of 2025. In June, T-Mobile said that tests conducted by Ookla between Q4 2024 and Q1 2025 revealed that it had the best network. This was disputed by Verizon , which claimed that it still had the most reliable 5G network according to RootMetrics, which it trusted more. Well, RootMetrics just published its national RootScore report for the first half of 2025, and according to it, neither T-Mobile nor Verizon came out on top. The company conducted more than 3 million tests to measure the real-world performance of the three largest mobile carriers in the US. AT&T was rated the best for overall performance in H1 2025 by RootMetrics. | Image Credit - Rootmetric Instead, AT&T topped most metrics and was rated 97.7 out of 100 for best overall performance, with Verizon on almost equal footing with a score of 97.5. T-Mobile was third with a score of 95.9. AT&T 's network was found to be the most reliable, and it also offered the fastest speed. Call performance was also the best on AT&T , but the company tied with Verizon on data and text performance. Verizon had the most responsive network and was also rated the best for video performance. As for 5G-only results, the company won best 5G, fastest 5G, and most reliable 5G. Interestingly, T-Mobile wasn't the best in any RootScore Awards category, which takes into account the overall performance, though it must be noted it scored well across all metrics and was within striking distance of the other two. Also, RootMetrics found that T-Mobile delivered the highest 5G availability and the fastest 5G speeds in major cities. It was also the only company to register median download speeds of at least 100 Mbps in all 125 markets tested. Overall vs 5G-only result. Image Credit -RootMetrics In any case, AT&T topped overall rankings and is the company of the moment. This has only further complicated the debate about which network is the best. Opensignal crowned T-Mobile as the winner earlier this month. All these companies use different methodologies, which is why results vary. The takeaway here is that AT&T , T-Mobile , and Verizon are all fiercely competitive and provide a comparable level of service. For an average user, it will make sense to go for a network that has the best service in their area instead of using reports like these to make their decision.

Phone as slim as the S25 Ultra but with a 10,000 mAh battery coming next year

If you thought that silicon batteries had reached their limits and could go no further, think again. A mid-range phone with a whopping 10,000 mAh battery and thickness to rival the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra will be entering the testing phase early next year. This unnamed phone ( translated source ) is likely a result of new strategies that are being developed to combat the limits of silicon batteries. While 7,500 mAh batteries are becoming more common, phone manufacturers want to see just how far they can push these new cells. Recently, the Honor Power debuted with a large 8,000 mAh battery, and the company has already released a new phone with a battery capacity of 8,300 mAh. From a purely numerical perspective, Apple and Samsung have fallen extremely far behind. The idea of an iPhone or Galaxy flagship with a 10,000 mAh battery, let alone an 8,000 mAh battery, is a pipe dream. However, there is a lot more to batteries than you might initially assume, especially when it comes to silicon batteries. A 10,000 mAh phone that's slimmer than 8.5 mm sounds excellent, and it is, but it won't last nearly as long as your iPhone 16, Google Pixel 9, or Samsung Galaxy S25. The Galaxy S25 Ultra kept the same 5,000 mAh battery as its predecessors. | Video credit — Samsung Samsung just announced the Galaxy Z Fold 7, and it keeps the same battery that the Fold 6 had, with a capacity of 4,400 mAh. In my opinion, the Fold 7's battery is pretty good. It's not mind-blowing, but it will be working at much better capacity after a couple thousand charges than its silicon rivals. This approach also complements Samsung's much longer software support cycle, while most Chinese phone manufacturers rely on people upgrading more often. Honor might be going against the grain, however, as the newly-released Magic V5 foldable phone will also get seven years of support. If you change phones often, then silicon batteries are definitely a more enticing option. And a slim phone with a 10,000 mAh battery sounds like a dream come true. Especially if you're against Apple and Samsung's recent approach with the Galaxy S25 Edge and the iPhone 17 Air, which sacrifice battery life for aesthetics. Switch to a 2-month Total 5G or 5G+ plan with Total Wireless and score this foldable deal. We may earn a commission if you make a purchase Check Out The Offer
