Ozzy Osbourne Posthumous Charts A New Hit Album
Several frames after the impact of the tragic news could first be seen on the charts, Osbourne and Black Sabbath's music has started to decline. While both acts fill multiple spots on multiple tallies, even the biggest titles are largely slipping backward.
Osbourne does manage to score one new win, as a popular album debuts on a list that the superstar only reached once during his lifetime.
The Essential Ozzy Osbourne Debuts
The Essential Ozzy Osbourne, a go-to compilation of many of his biggest solo singles, arrives on the Official Albums Streaming chart this week. The title narrowly misses out on becoming just a second top 40 win for the rocker, as it launches at No. 41.
Ozzy Osbourne's Three Career Wins
Osbourne has scored three appearances on the ranking of the most streamed albums in the U.K., two of which added to his catalog following his death. He first reached the list in early 2020 with Ordinary Man, which narrowly found space on the tally as it debuted at No. 96 and then quickly fell away.
On the chart dated July 31 of this year, Memoirs of a Madman launched at No. 61, bringing him to a new career high. The following frame, the title jumped to No. 27, and that position still stands as the highest he's ever reached.
Ozzy Osbourne Breaks Back Into the Top 40
The Essential remains Osbourne's most successful album in the U.K. at the moment. It's common for compilations to become magnets for sales and streaming activity whenever a major star passes away. This week, the title declines on two tallies while rising to No. 8 on the Official Album Downloads list. At the same time, The Essential reenters the Official Albums chart — the most important tally for full-lengths and EPs — breaking back in at No. 40.
Blizzard of Ozz, No More Tears, Patient Number 9
Three other full-lengths by Osbourne appear on the charts in the U.K. right now, which is a lot for one name – but it's actually down from even just a frame or two prior. Blizzard of Ozz can be found on four rankings, though it falls on all of them. No More Tears and Patient Number 9 live on two each, with the former declining on one list and rising on another, while Patient Number 9 slips on both rosters.

Doja Cat Reveals Her ‘Pop-Driven' Album ‘Vie' Is Complete in French-Language Post
Parlez-vous Français? Doja Cat has completed her highly anticipated album Vie at last, news she shared with the world in an all-French post on X on Monday (July 21). Keeping it simple, the rapper updated fans by writing, 'L'album est complet,' which translates to 'The album is complete' in English. Slated to arrive this fall, Vie will mark the California native's first LP since 2023's Scarlet, which reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200 and spawned three-week Billboard Hot 100-topping single 'Paint the Town Red.' Doja has been teasing Vie for months, revealing in a V cover story earlier in July that the project will have a more pop-focused sound. 'I do want to be self-aware enough to admit the fact that this is a pop-driven project,' she told the publication at the time. 'I know that I can make pop music, and pop is just that it's popular. It starts to become a bit of a thing that's viewed as a sport by people who are just bystanders to it, who enjoy it, but maybe also don't respect it or what it is, which is just music … They see it as if this is some kind of football for girls and gays.' Listeners haven't gotten any official tastes of Vie so far, though Doja has played snippets of unreleased songs in now-deleted clips on social media. She has stayed busy with music, however, teaming up with RAYE and LISA on single 'Born Again' earlier this year before hopping on Jack Harlow's 'Just Us.' Doja also teamed up with Don Toliver for 'Lose My Mind' on the F1 soundtrack. See Doja's post below. The AI Podcast Revolution And How Steven Barlett Is Tackling It
Diary Of A CEO founder and host Steven Bartlett is diving into AI. His company, FlightStory, currently releases an AI-made podcast using his voice. Bartlett says the users know the show is AI-generated and it still has a strong retention rate, with 60% of the audience staying through the end. The AI replication scares him—but not as much as the idea of someone else doing it first. 'There's always a bulldozer coming for you,' says Bartlett. 'You have a choice to either be hit by the bulldozer or to drive the bulldozer.'

The teaser came with a phone number for a Vie hotline, while callers were greeted by Doja playing the role of romance therapist. 'Jealous Type' is slated to be released on Aug. 21 at 8 p.m. ET. Doja Cat hasn't released any singles this year and has been tight-lipped about the project, but revealed in her V Magazine cover story in July that it's a 'pop-driven' effort. 'I do want to be self-aware enough to admit the fact that this is a pop-driven project,' she said at the time. 'I know that I can make pop music, and pop is just that it's popular.
