What Rasha Thadani, Daughter Of Raveena Tandon, Said About Nepotism: 'You're Out If...'
Last Updated:
In an earlier interview, Rasha Thadani revealed that her childhood was rooted in the performing arts, but her family prioritised education.
Rasha Thadani, daughter of Raveena Tandon and Anil Thadani, made her big Bollywood debut with Azaad alongside Aaman Devgan. While the glamour of showbiz may seem like a natural fit for a star kid, Rasha's journey to the screen was grounded in discipline and academics, thanks to her parents.
In an earlier interview with Midday, Rasha revealed that her childhood was rooted in the performing arts, but her family prioritised education. 'Growing up, performing arts was my love. After school, I'd go for dance lessons and return home by 9 pm," she recalled. However, her father Anil Thadani was quick to remind her of the balance required. 'Once I came home with B grade in a test, and dad was like, 'See, this is what happens [when you focus on other things].' My parents were keen that I complete my studies."
Raveena, too, ensured that her children were not raised in the shadow of her stardom. 'My mom always kept us away from her stardom. We saw her movies after we turned 13. She wanted us to live like anyone else," Rasha said.
With her film debut, Rasha has naturally stepped into the spotlight and is aware of the conversations around nepotism. While acknowledging the privileges that come with being a star kid, she believes talent is what truly matters. 'The audience is king. No matter where you come from, if you don't perform, you are out. There is no saving you from that," she said. 'The biggest stars right now, whether it's Ranbir Kapoor or Alia Bhatt, are talented."
Reflecting on the changes in media culture, Rasha noted how the paparazzi scene has evolved. 'When I was growing up, pap culture wasn't as intense as it is today. When I used to go to school, there were no paps. Now when I see star kids going to the same school, I feel bad because these kids don't want to be bombarded."
Rasha is stepping into big shoes, but she embraces it with humility and admiration. 'I take a lot of pride in the work mom has done," she smiled.

Goan bands hit the right note on Mangaluru stage
Mangaluru: There's a new rhythm setting the pace for celebrations in Mangaluru, and it hails directly from Goa. The coastal city's event circuit, from charity galas to ticketed parties and family functions, is increasingly showing a strong preference for Goan bands. The city's stages have seen almost all the top bands of Goa performing live over the years. A few notable names include A26, Black IN White Band, True Blue, Double R, Mark Revlon, Raagas2Riches, Uzo Band and others. Organisers and attendees of these events laud their energetic performances, passion for music and singing, and diverse repertoire, which often resonate deeply with the region's shared Konkani Catholic heritage. This trend sees many Goan groups performing regularly in Mangaluru. However, a stark contrast exists as very few Mangalurean bands secure similar gigs in Goa. Mark Fernandes of Stonebridge Entertainment, one of the event organisers who set the trend of inviting Goan bands in 2019, attributes their success to the quality of song selection, command over playlists, and quality of voice, which is as good as the original. "They don't just play one music genre, but all. Secondly, they also have a good command over Bollywood cover numbers, singing live, which not all bands can do. In total, Goan bands can capture the audience of Mangaluru and perform according to their taste," said Fernandes, adding that close to 20-25 bands from Goa are eagerly waiting to perform in Mangaluru. "They (Goan bands) perform in Mangaluru as it gives them a new platform to get recognised for their talents in the state," he said. Mark also added that earlier, bands originating from Mangaluru did not have many bookings outside the district, but of late, a few bands are able to touch the stages of Goa too. It is a positive sign, and some also perform in clubs in Bengaluru. Besides performing in ticketed events or charity galas, the Goan bands are also able to make inroads into private functions of individuals, be it roce, weddings, or other small events such as birthdays and anniversaries. Those who attend these events summarise that these bands are high in energy and dance-oriented. "Bands are well known for their high-energy performances and make everyone, be it young or old, shake a leg or two," says Laxmi Shenoy, an event organiser as well as a partygoer.

Housefull 5 Producer Sajid Nadiadwala Poses With Fans, Signs Autographs Inside Theatre
Last Updated: Housefull 5, backed by Sajid Nadiadwala, opened to Rs 24 crore at the box office. Nadiadwala celebrated by watching the film with the audience. Sajid Nadiadwala-backed Housefull 5 opened to Rs 24 crore at the box office, a decent number compared to the first-day collections of recent Bollywood releases. To celebrate the occasion, Nadiadwala watched the film inside a theatre with the audience. Upon realising who he was, fans flocked around him for photos. He was also seen signing autographs on T-shirts. His video comes after Akshay Kumar went incognito to take the audience's feedback outside a theatre earlier today and almost got caught. Sajid Nadiadwala has been making headlines for his jaw-dropping transformation. In a video going viral, the film producer, who is estimated to have a net worth of Rs 1500 crore, sat silently among the audience to gauge their reaction. He soon revealed himself and celebrated the film's good opening numbers with the audience. Take a look: View this post on Instagram A post shared by Viral Bhayani (@viralbhayani) Sajid Nadiadwala experimented with two different endings for Housefull 5, which varied across theatres. Speaking about it, the film producer shared, 'With Housefull 5, we wanted to take a bold creative swing that hasn't been done before internationally for any thriller film. The idea of having multiple endings, multiple experiences has been with me for 30 years. Since, i wanted to make Housefull 5 a thriller comedy, there couldn't have been a better way to execute my idea of having multiple endings than this." He added, 'It felt right to do something radical as we celebrate 75 years of Nadiadwala Grandson in the industry. Housefull is India's biggest comedy franchise and for the fifth instalment, we had to push the boundaries of what comedy can be. The idea of different endings came from a simple question: why should the audience always have just one version of the truth in a thriller? With Housefull 5, we've built a film that plays with form while staying completely rooted in entertainment. It's a killer comedy, literally, with twists that change depending on where you're watching it. and I'm proud we're doing it under the banner of Nadiadwala Grandson as we mark 75 years in the business. Our legacy has always been about embracing scale, stars, and giving audiences newer experiences and Housefull 5 takes all it to another level." He further mentioned, 'It's a natural extension of the theatrical experience: creating intrigue, rewatch value, and a sense of discovery. In a world of spoilers and algorithms, we're bringing back that element of surprise. And that's where the fun begins." Housefull 5 boasts an ensemble of 19 stars, comprising Akshay Kumar, joined by returning favourites and some new faces including Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, Chitrangada Singh, Fardeen Khan, Chunky Pandey, Johnny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Ranjeet, Soundarya Sharma, Nikitin Dheer, and Akashdeep Sabir. The film, directed by Tarun Mansukhani, released on June 6, 2025. First Published:
