The Welsh club, co-owned by Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds and It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia co-creator Rob McElhenney, are back in the second tier for the first time in 43 years after winning three consecutive promotions.
Wrexham met Eastleigh on the opening day of the Vanarama National League season in August 2022, but are now set to play grander Hampshire opposition three years on.
St Mary's will be the venue for Wrexham's Championship bow as Will Still takes charge of relegated Southampton for the first time in a 12.30pm kick-off.

Wrexham's first home game on August 16 will be West Brom, and Sheffield Wednesday will also visit SToK Racecourse before the Red Dragons travel to Millwall ahead of the September international break.
September brings home games with QPR and Derby and trips to Norwich and Leicester, while October starts with the so-called 'Hollywood derby' against Birmingham.
The two clubs were rivals in League One last season – Birmingham winning the title and Wrexham finishing runners-up – with the Blues also having a celebrity part-owner in NFL quarterback great Tom Brady.
Wrexham will entertain Birmingham on October 4 before making the short trip to Stoke two weeks later after the second international break of the season.

Frank Lampard's Coventry visit north Wales on November 1 and there are trips to Portsmouth, Ipswich and Preston before Christmas.
The first Welsh derby of the season against Swansea is an away fixture on December 20.
Wrexham host Sheffield United on Boxing Day and travel to Blackburn on New Year's Day.
Leicester at home on January 20 is the pick of the early 2026 fixtures, with away games at QPR and Sheffield Wednesday before the month is out.
Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson visits former club Hull in March (Martin Rickett/PA)
Millwall, Ipswich and Portsmouth all visit in February and manager Phil Parkinson has a Racecourse reunion with former club Hull on March 10, four days before Swansea head north.
Wrexham head to West Brom for a Good Friday clash on April 3, with Southampton their Easter Monday visitors.
The return fixture with Birmingham takes places on April 11 and Wrexham finish the season at home to Middlesbrough on May 2.
The 46-game Championship season will consist of 33 weekend rounds, nine midweek rounds and four bank holiday rounds.

Ryan Reynolds hit with £49million reality after Wrexham's opening Championship fixtures

Ryan Reynolds hit with £49million reality after Wrexham's opening Championship fixtures Wrexham face a tough Championship opening fixture against Southampton, who are in receipt of Premier League parachute payments and have owners with significant personal fortunes Wrexham owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds could find it tough to compete financially with teams like Southampton (Image: Robbie Jay Barratt - AMA/Getty Images ) Wrexham have received a stark reminder of the challenges they will face in the Championship after their fixture list for next season was confirmed. Phil Parkinson's side face a tough test in their opening game as they travel away to Southampton, who were relegated from the Premier League in April. Wrexham co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have indicated that the manager will be well-backed this summer as he looks to build a team which can compete in the second tier. ‌ The two Hollywood stars boast a combined net worth estimated at around £291m ($400m) thanks to their acting income and smart business investments. However, in their first fixture on August 9, they face a club which will be in receipt of Premier League parachute payments. ‌ Teams who dropped out of the top flight continue to receive a share of revenues for at least a further two years as they adapt to life in the Championship. During their first season after relegation, Southampton are expected to receive approximately £49m. That figure is equal to around five-times the sum that normal second tier sides get via solidarity payments and TV broadcast deals. The Saints are owned by London-based investment group Sport Republic, headed up by Rasmus Ankersen, Henrik Kraft, and lead investor Dragan Solak. Solak's estimated net worth stands at around £1.4bn, according to news magazine Nedeljnik, positioning him as the second-richest person in Serbia. Meanwhile, Kraft is reported to be worth roughly £2bn, highlighting why Southampton are among the favourites to life the Championship title next season. Fans can watch the series with a £4.99 monthly plan, or get 12 months for the price of 10 by paying for a year upfront. Their personal fortunes dwarf those of Reynolds and McElhenney, but Wrexham do have an ace up their sleeves in the form of the Allyn family from New York, who became minority investors in the club last October. For more than a century, the family were the owners of US medical device manufacturing company Welch Allyn Inc. ‌ That was until September 2015 when the firm was sold to Hill-Rom in a deal reported to be worth just under £1.5bn at current rates . The Allyns have since turned their attentions to investing in private and public markets, and Wrexham have received several large cash injections since their arrival. While they don't necessarily have the riches to compete with recently-relegated Premier League clubs, football finance expert Kieran Maguire believes the Red Dragons will still be in the top half of the table in terms of their spending power. And he said the popularity of the Welcome to Wrexham documentary is one of the main reasons for their financial strength. Speaking to talkSPORT earlier this year, he said: "Wrexham made three times as much as any other club [when playing] in League Two, more than any other club in League One and they would be in the top half of the Championship. ‌ Sign up to our newsletter! It's an incredible achievement in terms of bringing in money. It's also their ability to become an international brand which has really driven this. '[Promotion] adds another £8m of TV money because they will be in the Championship. That would put them fairly close to all of the clubs except for those who will be in receipt of parachute payments in the Championship." Last year they lost £2.5m, they can lose £39m over three years when they get to the Championship. "They have the capacity to invest in players and invest in improving the infrastructure and I think they will be an exhilarating proposition to watch because everybody's eyes will be on them."

Valakari embracing life in Championship as he plots top-flight return

Simo Valakari says St Johnstone will embrace life in the Championship as he plots a return to the top-flight at the first time of asking. The Perth club were relegated, ending a 15-year run in the Premiership, after finishing bottom of the table last season. And while Valakari, who took over from Craig Levein in October, is aware of how tough and unforgiving the second tier can be, he is aiming to put 'all the little things' in place to give his side the best chance of an instant return. As St Johnstone players returned for pre-season this week, he said: 'It's good to be back with the players, during the off-season you work behind the scenes on different things and reflecting on the season previous. 'We look at the experience we got from that and how we can improve going forward, and working with recruitment, but you can't beat this feeling being back with the players. 'We are all looking forward now, we have reflected very brutally and honestly on last season and what we could have and should have done better. 'Now it is about life in the Championship, and we are very eager to get going and very excited to be here. 'We know how tough a league it is, but that is where we are now, and we want to take the club back to the Premiership; that is our aim. 'We want to rebuild and make the club stronger. Wherever that takes us, you never know, it is a long season, and to win promotion and win the title, we will need all the little things to go our way. 'So it is too early to say for sure that we are going to do this or going to do that, all we can do is focus on one day at a time and make the best for ourselves, and then maybe we have a chance.' The Saints get their competitive season under way against East Kilbride in the group stages of the League Cup on July 12. They will also play Raith Rovers, Elgin City, and Inverness Caley Thistle in that competition, before beginning their Championship campaign with a home game against Partick Thistle on August 2.
