Rumer Willis pays tribute to Bruce Willis on Father's Day
Rumer Willis made a conscious effort to feel "grateful" on Father's Day (15.06.25).
The 36-year-old actress took to social media on Sunday to pay tribute to her dad Bruce Willis - who was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2022 - and to reflect on the struggles she now faces when trying to connect with her father.
Alongside a series of throwback photographs, Rumer wrote on Instagram: "Today is hard, I feel a deep ache in my chest to talk to you and tell you everything I'm doing and what's going on in my life. To hug you and ask you about life and your stories and struggles and successes. I wish I asked you more questions while you could still tell me about it all. But I know you wouldn't want me to be sad today so I'll try to just be grateful reminding myself how lucky I am that you're my dad and that you're still with me and I can still hold you and hug you and kiss your cheek and rub your head I can tell you stories. Rumer - who has Louetta, two, with her ex-partner Derek Thomas - is ultimately determined to cherish the special moments with her 70-year-old dad, despite the challenges they face.
Rumer - who is the eldest daughter of Bruce and Demi Moore - continued: "I can watch the way your eyes light up when you see Louetta I will be grateful for every moment I have with you. I love you so much dad happy Father's Day. Sending love to all those who are in the boat with me or have lost their fathers, to the single moms who are the dads too, to my future baby daddy… [heart emoji] (sic)"
Bruce's family revealed news of his dementia diagnosis in early 2023.
They said in a statement at the time: "Since we announced Bruce's diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce's condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD). Unfortunately, challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces. While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis."

Jessie - who is mother to two-year-old son Sky with basketball star Chanan Colman - previously revealed she was given the diagnosis prior to the release of her single, No Secrets on April 25 and she has been "in and out of tests" since. She said in an Instagram video: "Before No Secrets came out, I was diagnosed with early breast cancer. I'm highlighting the word 'early'. "Cancer sucks in any form but I'm holding onto the word early. I have been in and out of tests throughout this whole period ...
