Coronation Street character Gary Windass will be seen in a coma fighting for his life in a storyline that will solve the mystery of his disappearance.
During Friday's episode of the ITV soap viewers will see Gary lying unconscious in a hospital bed, with his friends and family unaware of what has happened.

The character, played by Mikey North, left town, supposedly to stay with his mother Anna Windass (Debbie Rush) amid a blackmail attempt by Lou Michaelis (Farrel Hegarty).
As time went on Gary's wife, Maria Connor, played by Samia Longchambon, became increasingly worried and began searching for him.

Her concern escalates when she reports Gary as a missing person to Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) and learns about an unidentified coma patient.
Viewers learn the extent his attacker has taken to cover their tracks by fraudulently claiming to be his next of kin.

Upcoming episodes will delve into the events that led to his admission to hospital and uncover secrets, revealing the identity of those involved.
Longchambon, 42, said: 'Maria and Gary are going through a bit of a rough patch at the minute and initially she's upset that he's left but doesn't think too much into it.
'As soon as Gary misses Liam's birthday, she has a gut feeling that something isn't right and fears something awful might have happened to him.
'Maria's mind is spiralling, but she doesn't stop for a second to think who actually attacked Gary, she's aware he has a lot of enemies from over the years who could have potentially wanted to take revenge on him.'

North's storylines in the soap include collapsing the factory roof, which caused the death of Rana Habib.
Friday's episode of Coronation Street will be uploaded to ITVX at 7am and airs on ITV1 at 8pm.

Coronation Street's latest episode confirmed Gary Windass was in a coma amid a brutal mystery attack, but amid Nina Lucas fearing she'd done something, is someone else to blame? Gary Windass' attack on Coronation Street will be hot topic as fans try to figure out what happened to him and who did the crime. But perhaps two people have been ruled out despite it being heavily hinted they are involved. Gary was revealed to be in a coma in hospital during Friday's episode of the ITV soap. Prior to now it was thought he'd been staying with his mother Anna Windass away from Weatherfield, but when he didn't return home his wife Maria Connor was concerned. Then on Friday Maria got a text message from 'Gary' stating he was fine and at a mate's house, and would be home soon. Of course new information has come to light though that could well suggest Gary has been in a coma for days, and therefore did not send that message. Well of course he didn't send the text, as by the end of the episode we saw him in hospital and unconscious. So whoever attacked Gary must have his phone, and is covering their tracks. New spoilers had teased a cover-up was underway, ahead of Maria reporting Gary as a missing person with the police in upcoming episodes. Something will make Maria's blood run cold, sending her to the police station in a bid to find her missing husband. Amid her concern, someone, or more than one person perhaps, knows where he is, and knows what has happened. As well as keeping the truth from Maria and Gary's loved ones, the mystery attacker, it's soon revealed, has told the hospital a fake name for Gary while also claiming to be his next of kin. The attacker is clearly trying to stop the truth from coming up, going to desperate lengths to cover their tracks. These scenes will be delved into in the coming weeks as the plot continues. But Friday's episode appeared to confirm that it was Gary who Nina Lucas and Summer Spellman had seen the night they were on drugs. The girls were high on LSD when something sent them racing to the café, screaming and crying. They soon revealed they'd witnessed something bad, torn over whether to tell the police. During Friday's episode Nina broke down to her uncle Roy Cropper, and eventually she explained everything to him and detective Kit Green. We learned that what Summer and Nina had seen was a man "lunging" at them, before Nina pushed him and ran in terror. She claimed that before they fled the man fell and hit his head. She told Roy there was blood and the man was not moving, but fearing for her safety she and Summer ran away and did not say anything. Now Nina is convinced someone is hurt and it's her fault, asking Kit if a body had been found or if someone was missing. As no one believed the incident happened Nina struggled, sure that something was going on. She told Roy she'd hurt someone and that she was determined to find out who. In that moment we saw Gary in hospital, with it alluding that Gary was the man Nina and Summer saw, and that perhaps Nina was the one who attacked him. But a couple of things clearly rule Nina and Summer out. The fact someone has been posing as Gary and messaging Maria, this cannot be Nina as she has no idea who the man is and if it even happened. She's also confessed to everything, struggling with that's happened too, so for her to send messages or cover up the crime doesn't make any sense, let alone posing as Gary's next of kin. The same goes for Summer, and neither of them seem to be aware of the link to Gary. She also doesn't seem to be aware the man she saw, Gary, is in hospital, yet the person who attacked him does know he's there and will likely visit him given the spoilers about what the attacker does to cover up their crime. It just wouldn't make sense for Nina to be desperate to work out who they are and tell the police, and then secretly know the truth - so who did attack Gary? Whoever it is must have his phone, and must know he was away from Weatherfield amid their cover story. So far fans have wondered if Gary was robbed or attacked on his way home, or if, given it likely happened around Monday's episode, someone at the party was involved. A theory suggests teenager Brody might be to blame after he fled the party, after Gary's run-in with his dad Mick. Viewers suggested Kit may be covering for Brody, as other fans wondered if Lauren Bolton attacked Gary thinking it was Joel Deering. A further theory suggested Debbie Webster may be to blame after her recent arrest.

So it is with NZO, a mysterious Sheffield-based electronic artist whose album Come Alive is a defibrillating jolt of vitality. You can find affinities with other artists and styles here, for sure: the bookish but playful minimalism of another Sheffield musician, Mark Fell; Objekt's trickster vision for bass music and techno; the white-tiled cleanliness of some of Sophie's work; Jlin's paradoxically static funk. But the way it's all pulled together is totally NZO's, making for music that's so light on its feet despite its incredible complexity. After a brief intro piece, main opener Rolling Around has all the hallmarks of dubstep but it's as if a slight glitch is holding it back from a deep skanking rhythm. The little ripples of conga on AXMM, or the synthetic brass fanfares of Something's Changed, are sounds you often hear in Chicago footwork music – probably deliberate homages, yet the actual productions are totally different, the former fidgeting, the latter bumping. Her use of vocals is excellent, too, from the very quotable house-style command 'won't stop dancing til the DJ drops' on CFML, to faraway dream-pop singing on Something's Changed. There's more on half-stepping closer Looking For ': the kind of poignant snatch of pop that Burial reaches for, but rather than being cloaked in static, this lost transmission comes through with devastating clarity. This album is cute yet serious, danceable yet cerebral – very few people are operating at this level in British electronic music anywhere, much less with their debut. Blood Orange – The FieldA fever dream of collaborators join Dev Hynes' romantic return: the Durutti Column's guitar blur meets Eva Tolkin's racing production, Tariq Al-Sabir's composition and vocals from Caroline Polachek and Daniel Caesar. LS The Beths – No Joy'I don't feel sad, I feel nothing,' Liz Stokes rues on a classic Beths track: kinetic powerpop that blasts her melancholy – about the new numbness of life on antidepressants – with sunshine. LS Jonathan Richman – I Was Just a Piece of Frozen Sky Anyway 'Will I make my change?' the Modern Lover asks his mother on what might be a gnomic nod to mortality, as Spanish guitar does a brisk dance with a lovely, fluted whistle. LS Case Oats – In a BungalowSomewhere between Kathleen Edwards' open-hearted country and Kimya Dawson's lovely naivete, Chicago's Casey Walker – and nimble, fiddle-accented band – belies the pressing nature of a crush with an enticing lightness of touch. LS Orcutt Shelley Miller – A Star Is BornGuitarists Bill Orcutt and Ethan Miller (Comets on Fire) blaze up the joint while former Sonic Youth drummer Steve Shelley plays it cool, steering them towards a surprisingly chill landing. LS Silvana Estrada – Lila AlelíThe Mexican songwriter essays the pain of longing in capital-R romantic terms, although her radiant delivery and some jaunty horns suggest that there's no small amount of pleasure in this purgatory. Lazarus Lazarus takes place in the utopian year of 2052. A genius neuroscientist by the name of Dr. Skinner has discovered a miracle analgesic drug known as Hapna, completely relieving the user of any pain. After inexplicably disappearing, we cut forward three years later, where Dr Skinner resurfaces to the public in an online video. He announce that the drug has a three-year half-life and soon everyone who has taken it will die. As a result of this, a task force of five agents is assembled to locate Skinner and create a vaccine. Its name? Lazarus. If you've been following this anime, you may be curious to find out when the next episode will be released. Well, wonder no more! Lazarus is airing in Japan on TXN (TV Tokyo) and Animax.
